Divine Pénombre. It means Twilight in French. She seems French, so I thought that a French name would fit her name perfectly. Ooh la la. And Divine just so happens to be her favorite word.

The word 'Divine' was based off of the Greek word 'godlike'.
Twilight is based off of the French word 'l'heure bleue'.

Her friends call her Pénombre, Twilight, or Divine for short. Since it's hard to say.

You pronounce it Deevene Penombruh (Roll the 'R').

Divine definition:

In religious terms, divinity is the state of things that come from a supernatural power or deity, such as God, and are therefore regarded as sacred and holy. Such things are regarded as "divine" due to their transcendental origins, and/or because their attributes or qualities are superior or supreme relative to things of the Earth. Divine things are regarded as eternal and based in truth, while material things are regarded as ephemeral and based in illusion. Such things that may qualify as "divine" are apparitions, visions, prophecies, miracles, and the soul, or more general things like resurrection, immortality, grace, and salvation. Otherwise what is or is not divine may be loosely defined, as it is used by different belief systems.

Penombre (Twilight) Definition:

Twilight is the time between dawn and sunrise or between sunset and dusk, during which sunlight scattering in the upper atmosphere illuminates the lower atmosphere, and the surface of the earth is neither completely lit nor completely dark. The sun itself is not directly visible because it is below the horizon. Owing to the distinctive quality of the ambient light at this time, twilight has long been popular with photographers, who refer to it as Sweet Light, and painters, who refer to it as the "blue hour", after the French expression l'heure bleue.

When you first meet her, she'll show great concern for your looks. No matter what she's doing-Designing a new skirt, redecorating her home, she will care about your fur, your outfit, and will immediately get to dressing you up and giving you a complete make-over. She cares for her own beauty as well. She can create an outfit from a curtain, a fancy hat from a few flowers, and so on. She is particular about her cleanliness: she panics while trying to avoid getting muddy, and tries to keep herself from getting soaked in the rain. Her fashion-consciousness extends even to times of peril. She wears scarves and tiaras on her way to horrible places. She's shown putting on eyelash extensions several times a day in private, but some of her friends know. She wears false eyelashes, and, she wears her hair in such a way to prevent this becoming known to her friends, having lost one of them.

She absolutely adores the spotlight. She will do anything to get all eyes on her beautiful figure. She will shove her way onto a stage of a play, stand in front of a TV reporter, whatever, so long as people learn who she is and see her and adore her. Divine believes that life is just your chance to leave a mark on the world, and it needs to be huge.

She envies all famous people, especially models and singers. She is very convined she is to become a model, for she is very vain about her beauty and believes that if a model agent comes to town she will immediately be picked when they lay eyes on her for the first time at an audition. Then she can get away from her family.
Divine is like this because back in Paris, she used to always walk around in public, displaying different poses as French civilians ooh-ed and ahh-ed at her. She is, of course, a legend, so she shows it off. When they start getting bored, she will give off rays of stardust and show off other tricks.

Penombre and her sister Minerva are always in conflict and trying to claw each other's eyes out. They're always squabbling about who is the prettiest, who is more popular, etc.
Crashin' Wave, their brother, always has to break it up. Being the peace maker, he usually intervenes and tries to end it However, when he has resolved it, they end up arguing again. So Wave's efforts are usually ignored.
They don't ever battle in public, although dirty looks and stares, tongues stuck out, and other expressions still carry on the endless war of the two sisters.

Divine is perhaps the best-spoken of them all. Her vocabulary tends to be more formal, and she is prone to use complex words and more sophisticated, refined phrasing than the others. She speaks with a cultivated trans-Atlantic dialect.

However, she sometimes gets carried away with her attention to detail. She usually has difficulty tearing herself from a mess she's already started on, despite what other chaos is in the room. Everything must be clean. She does everything in order, saving the most important for last, and starting with the teensy-tinsy details.

If it was up to her to clean the house instead of her owners, it would always be looking messy, unless she had a long time do to it. She tried keeping her room clean by herself once, but she took five days just to get it halfway clean. It needed to sparkle to please her before she could even move to the next inch. She will begin to panic if her owners leave the house dirty for too long.

She's usually scolding Crashin' Wave about his manners, and also trying her best to correct Minerva whenever she can. "Coudes en congé la table! (Elbows off the table!)" she would often remind Wave. Of course, not wanting a fight, he'd take his elbows off. Two seconds later he would be chewing with his mouth open, talking with his mouth full, and chugging his drink. Of course this does not please Divine, so it turns into a full on fight. Well, Divine will be complaining to their parents, but they could care less.

This French gal overreacts to almost everything. She is very sensitive, so she becomes dramatic in even the most crucial time. She could be touring a cave, and would get cave kissed by one of the stalactites. Screaming, she'd start complaining about how there will be mold growing in her beautiful hair and it would take hours to clean it out again. The other tourists would look at her, worried, thinking that there were indeed animals lurking here that would not hesitate to kill them. Then they would all be running around and screaming, and everything would be a mess.

Divine and Mini are like night and day. She is basically pure enemies with Minerva. As explained in the personality section, they are worst enemies. Although, they work together at times. Especially to torment Nassie, one of Wave's past girlfriends. What are sisters for, right? They also dislike Mystique, but Minerva hates Lilliana for some reason. That will be explained below.

Divine is always annoyed by Wave, specially his table manners. He's completely ditched the French accent, and gained a Californian one. It offends her, of course. So she's always hinting that she wants him to take up using French words again. Sometimes she speaks in French around him, and tries to get him to engage.

Penombre dislikes Nassie with strong passion. She broke her brother's heart. You know asthe saying goes: "You break his heart, I break your face." She ignores the fact that Nassie and him made up and are now friends. Sounds overprotective, right?
Whenever she sees Nassie, she shoots her a glare and mouths French curses.
Adorable.
Furthermore, she even drives her to team up with her sister, Minerva. They usually end up playing pranks on her, spreading harmless rumors (About fashion), and taunting her when they can.

Mystique just seems like a huge threat to her. She's so pretty, and has way more colours than her. She also has a pink jewel which she desperately wants. All of these facts make her jealous, but not that much to Minerva. She's more after Lilliana, for some reason...
Anyways, the best she can do is irritate Mystique, scare her crush off, and spread rumors. That's all she can think of at the time being.

Divine speaks in this color, and has a French accent.
She also addresses others as 'Darling', or 'Sweetie', but sometimes she'll adress others as 'Ruffian' and 'Dirty Monster'. Very dramatic. Divine also speaks in a cultivated trans-Atlantic dialect.


Compared to a human adult, she comes up to the knees.

Well. This is a very unique power. In fact, she has two, not even counting her unknown jewel colour.
Time.
Yes, she can control time. But only in small amounts right now. As her growth progresses, she'll gain more and more control over it. But Divine is very unaware of this power. If she learned about it, she probably would refer to it as something ruffian-like, and will refuse to use such foul play. She hates cheating.

-Travelling back in time
-Travelling to possible futures
-Slowing down time
-Speeding up time
-Freezing certain objects in time
-Affecting certain objects with various speeds

I was walking down the streets in Paris, showing off my beautiful looks. My wings fluttered gently as they gave off a soft glow. Dazzling curls of light emitted from them as I flitted them about. Passing civilians stopped and crowded around me, trying to get a look at the legend that was putting on the show.

Calysto



Calysto is a name that I found somewhere, but couldn't find the meaning of. I did a little research and found that is was possibly based off of two names: Callipso and Callisto.

Callipso: It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Calypso is "she who hides". From "kalypto". Mythology: a demi-goddess and nymph who lived on the hidden island of Ogygia, and kept Odysseus as her prisoner and lover for seven years. Music: a West Indian style of extemporaneous singing. In France, the name may have been influenced by the reserarch boat of the French underwater researcher Jacques Costeau which was called "Calypso"

Callisto: a Greek name meaning "Most beautiful." The ending of this name suggests it should be a masculine form. However, the Italian spelling echoes the Greek original, the name of a mythological beauty pursued by Zeus, the supreme Olympian god. Hera, his queen, transformed Kallisto into a she-bear, probably in an effort to divert her husband's amorous attentions. Unsuccessful in this, Hera finally set her among the stars, where Kallisto's beauty lights the night sky for all time.

I have determined that the meaning of Calysto is to be "she who hides her beauty."





Calysto is quite the bold girl. She isn't shy, and isn't afraid. She is confident and very sure of her actions. Caly is prepared to take risks, and is rather courageous. She is not one to miss out on anything, and will have her opinion voiced. She is too stubbourn to have her opinion swayed or influenced by anyone else as a result of this boldness. She can be very assertive and will always give the cold hard truth, though, she does enjoy joking around alongside all of this.

Calysto is not one to pass up a challenge, or an opportunity to go out and explore. She would much rather be crossing the globe, seeing new sights and smelling new things, than ever sitting sedentary for more than a few hours. Caly enjoys smelling the fresh air, and have the wind blow through her fur. She loves the sensation of accomplishment when she finds something new. Her questioning never ends, and never ceases to satisfy, she has many a tale, and though some of them may be fictional, you can never be sure, because of all the wacky things she has done before.

Caly is a seafarer at heart. Her family has never been too fond of the water, but Calysto loves it nevertheless. She loves the spray of the water, and the taste of salt on her lips. Even when she was a child she would fold paper boats and let them drift off in the lake. Caly is more at home in the water than anywhere else. She is a strong swimmer, and an even better captain. It's almost as if she has a psychic connection to the water itself, and the vessel beneath her.

Despite all of confidence, inside she is very insecure. She is a wandering spirit, always has been, and always will be. She fears that she is tearing hearts apart wherever she goes, for she makes many friends in every place, only to leave them soon again for her journeys. She fears that she will never find real love, and that if she does, she will have to leave, and answer the call to adventure, the irresistible call that keeps her whole. But most of all, she fears of disapproval. She is scared that others will not find her good enough, and that they will think her ugly, or that people will believe her wandering spirit is a curse.



-On dark and rainy nights, when the stars can't be seen, her jewel will cease to glow, and she will become fatigued.
-Caly is strongest on blue moons, and her jewel will glow so brightly,, it's almost as if it leaves a permanent stamp of light in your memory.
-She can hear the stars sing. Most think that she's just crazy, but Calysto's not. She can hear the high pitched tunes that the stars give off come together in perfect harmony.
-She dances, a lot. She dances to the songs the stars give off, and, occasionally, she dances with the stars. But she will never let anybody see.
-Calysto will always be around. She has been around since the beginning of time, much like the sky above her. She has found out that if there are young stars, she will be there, and young. Forever. Timeless.
-She has a South African accent, because that's where most of her travels took her when she was "young". She also had to act as a taxi service and take a colony over to South America. She picked up the accent after a few months.



-Calysto is afraid that she is hurting the people around her. She's scared that her constant traveling pulls others apart, due to the large amount of people she is always meeting and leaving.
-She is afraid that all of the enemies she met will do something terrible to those she loves, because she's not there to protect them. People say that if you really want to hurt somebody, you hurt their family.
-Caly fears that the sky will, oddly enough, actually fall someday.
-She's scared that she is cursed/will be cursed. She has met many witches and fortune tellers, she has seen genies and fairies, and they always seem to be the most displeased with her adventuring.
-Calysto is afraid of magic. Ridiculous, I know, but she knows that magic holds more potential than anything. It can be used for the good, the bad, and the ugly, and she has seen it used for the last two more than the first.
-Caly.... is afraid of bald guys. Wherever she goes, it always seems to be the bald guy yelling at her to "get out of meh restaurant!"
-Calysto is afraid of love as well. Although she really wants to know what it's like to feel it, she's seen love cause too much damage efore. She has seen it cause people to go crazy, and it has caused the world to go numb in some places.



-Calysto dreams that she will dance among the stars one day.
-She wants to be able to bring dead stars back to life.
-Caly wishes to travel inside a black hole one day, and discover what is inside of it. She thinks that they are actually works of art, needing to be discovered and their full potential to be released.
-Calysto really want to know what it's like to love somebody. She never stays in one place for long enough, and she is a little afraid of it.

Timeless. Suspended in time, timeless. Like the sky above her, timeless. The young JMD looked up at the stars, and imagined them dancing to a merry tune, up in the sky. Before her, something unbelievable happened. She saw the stars pick partners, and begin to swirls around each other, dancing to a tune only she heard. They formed patterns, pictures, colours. She determined them to be constellations, pictures in the sky. She didn't feel so alone all of a sudden. She sat on the crisp snow, her thick fur keeping her warm, and watched as the constellations before her danced. The colours exploded before her, like great dust clouds that swarmed around the stars, enhancing their every move. She called them nebulae. And from these two names, constellation, and nebula, she drew forth her own name. CALYSTO. and before her, ribbons of light burst into life. They swam across the night sky, closer to her than the constellations and nebulae. Caly danced with the stars and the lights, she danced among the colours. She would, forever and always.........

But that was millennial ago.
Calysto still dances with the stars and the lights, but less now. She has aged a lot as well; not in appearance, but in soul and mind. She now sails all nine oceans, and soars twelve skies....

I docked my boat, and walked off, dizzy from the way the storm has tossed me about. I looked at Coldstone. The vessel was over three hundred years old, and still in pristine condition. It had a thic, strong hull, and three masts; two of which stood one behind the other, and the other jutted off the front. All sails were worn, but fine. They were all down and stored safely in the storage cache. The boat was all balsa wood.
I blinked through the storm, and made my way to the port's inn. I pulled the door open against the wind. I walked inside and jumped as the door slammed shut. I took a seat and ordered a hot cup of hot chocolate. There were a few other JMDs in the room, but most of the population was made up of humans. They paid me no notice though. It was not long until a sea-worn male came and joined me.
"Why are you here?"
"Storm blew me in... and you?"
"Same... What's your name?"
"Calysto.Yours?"
"They call me Bush."
"Nice to meet you Bush." I shook his hand.
"The pleasure is mine." Bush had a think accent. Russian maybe?
"Where does your accent come from?"
"I used to live in Russia, left as soon as I could though, I can't resist the sea. Can't get rid of the blasted accent though..."
"Cool."
"What about you?" I gave Bush a sideways glance.
"I have an accent?"
"Yes..."
"Probably from my time in South Africa." I shrugged, believing that I probably had picked up an accent from there, it was where I had spent most of my early sea-faring. Bush nodded, and ordered himself some food.
"You want some?" He asked. I nodded.
"Please." And helped myself to his french fries.We talked for a while, and eventually I retired to a room.

When morning came around, the storm had stopped, and the sun shone dimly behind a thin cloud layer. I hurried downstairs, eager to return to the open seas. I ordered myself a small cup if coffee, and looked out of the window. The sea was still choppy, but nothing I couldn't handle. I fine she'd off my coffee, and walked to my vessel. Upon boarding, I quickly unfurled the sails, and was on my way. I waved off of the stern of my ship, seekmg Bush, and returned to the helm.
I maneuvered my way through large, rolling swells, some with caps, some without. I breathed in the fresh salty air, and continued until dusk came. The stars shone through the cloud layer, singing their beautiful tune. I put my own voice into the harmony, and, before I knew it, the anchor was dropped, and I was dancing across the balsa wood deck of my ship. I closed my eyes, and let the stars lead the dance. When I opened them, there was a figue beside me. It looked like the sky had become a form, a specific shape, and had come to dance with me. I screamed and recoiled, falling down the short step to where the masts were. The figure smiled and disappeared. I stood and shook my head. Thinking about it, the thing resembled Bush a little bit, but he isn't made of cindensed stars. I pulled the anchor up as the wind kicked in. The ship picked up speed, and soon enough I was on the open seas once more.
