How did I get my scars?
You see that bracelet of hers? Well, she was originally going to get more shells, so she could make a bunch of little charms called Wayfinders for herself and her friends. She didn't have enough shells, so she ended up climbing up some of the sharp, slippery rocks at the end of the beach while she looked. She found a few, but not quite enough.

Now, one of her ex-friends - Her name would be Elesa, by the way - is a complete, snarky jerk. So, when Kairi asked if they had any ideas on where she could find some more, guess who came along and suggested she jump off the little cliff and go diving for some? Yeah.

Kairi, being a bit younger - And quite a bit more naive - at the time, decided that she would do just that. So, she set her bag full of shells down on the rocks, got a running start (Or, as much of a running start as you can while on a bunch of sharp, slippery rocks), and jumped in.

What Elesa didn't tell her was that there were even more sharp rocks just below where she would be jumping in. Got herself all cut up, and the rocks were slippery enough that she couldn't climb back up, especially with all the open wounds. Poor girl nearly drowned - She found out that day that she was not a good swimmer. Hana, of everyone, had to jump in and save her - Hana being the goddess I bonded with over the fact that she didn't like having to swim everywhere to bring spring every six months. Yeah. She doesn't really trust Elesa any more.
