Butter and the Story of The Sweater

Butter looked out the window. It was snowing down, and it was dark. A lamp post shined in the darkness. Butter sat by the fireplace inside his house. Even if the fire warmed alot, it was still cold, and none of the heaters worked. Butter laid down on the wooden floor and looked at the gifts under the Christmas tree. Many of them were his gifts that his owner had given him. Butter's eyes slowly closed, and he fell asleep in front of the fireplace.

He woke up the next day when he felt his owner gently pat his back. Butter quickly got up. It was Christmas! Butter looked at his owner with his shiny gray eyes. "Okay, Butter, you can open one gift now. But we have to eat before we can open them all." His owner smiled. "But I will choose what gift you can open." The human got up, walked towards the tree and sat down. She grabbed a soft present and walked to Butter with it. "Here you go." Butter disliked soft gifts. He knew the cool things were in the hard gifts, but he did not show that he was disappointed. He looked at the tag. He could not read but he knew it said it was from his owner. He opened it carefully, and after all the paper had been scattered about the living room, a big, red sweater laid there in front of him. His eyes brightened up. His owner walked up to him, grabbed the sweater and dragged it over Butter's head. The arms were a little long for his front legs, but Butter did not mind. He loved his gift. It was so soft and wonderful to wear. He became much warmer when he weared it.
