As soon as I saw him, he reminded me of the bright, blazing ball of fire that gives this earth light. 
As soon as I saw him, he immediately reminded me of this bright celestial body. 
I imagine he brightens peoples' day with just a smile and a 'hello'. Much like the sun, he is very warm and bright. His radiant personality sheds light upon everyone he can.


They aren't really glow sticks. They're more like... Light sticks.
He has a small bag tied around his ankle, in which he keeps a bag of tubes filled with water. He creates light inside of those tubes, and wills them to mix together to create a very bright mixture. It has a texture like goo, and behaves as such. Whenever he creates one and uses the previous one up, he ties the new one around his neck and fills the old tube with water from the tap.
He's an artist. He opens the tube around his neck, and moves the substance he calls 'Sun Stuff' through the air with his jewel power. He then splatters it all over the canvas, being able to change the hues and shades to create beautiful art.

This is the story of my adventure. Most don't really care, but it was actually pretty fun, yet... Scary. So I'll tell you how it goes...

I sat on the porch. I was painting again, as usual, and it was nighttime.
Glowing blobs of colour flew at it, slowly creating a masterpiece of light as it shone in the dark night. It was amazing how beautiful it was. I was currently creating a painting of a lovely jewel mane dragon walking through a field of flowers and springy, green grass. Sun rays broke through the clouds and bathed her body in golden light. I was just about to do some more shading on her neck when a voice scared the crud out of me. It was a wolf whistle, and I knew immediately who it belonged to. I whirled around and saw that it was none other than Crashin' Wave, one of my best friends slash annoying friend.

"Who's that beautiful JMD your paintin' there, Dude?" he asked mischievously. My face felt hot as warm blood rushed into it. "U-uh... No one. She's just a made up character from a book..." I lied. "A book Kotar lent you? Dude, don't read any of those books. They're boring, and have no pictures!" Wave warned. Like it was a bad thing. "Anyways, Dude, it's..." Wave's voice blended in with the chirp of crickets in the background when I heard a small, echoey sound. My head turned slowly towards the spot where it had come from. There, my eyes beheld a mythical creature of old. A will 'o the wisp. It glowed a faint blue in the crisp night air. I began to head towards the foolish fire, oblivious to Crashin' Wave following me as well.

An odd feeling overcame me. It was mysterious and calming. It was like that feeling I got before I fell asleep. Enchanted, I continued heading towards it. My paws barely made a sound against the soft green grass. Once I got within a one foot radius of the creature, my glow stick glowed even brighter. I lifted my paw, curious as to what a will 'o the wisp felt like. It shed an aura of freezing air onto my paw and sent a shiver down my spine.

A split second before contact, it dispersed into curling white wisps. It reappeared a few feet away. A piercing voice entered my head and began to sing. It wasn't in a language I could understand. The words rolled off the tongue like water in a babbling brook, yet smooth like wind flying over a bare landscape. I continued to follow the beautiful will 'o the wisp.

The rest of the journey passed in a blur. All I remember was the repetitive song in my head, and the glowing will 'o the wisps. After what had felt like months, we awoke from our trance. The music quietly receded. We were now in the depths of a shadowy bog, where millions of the wisps floated around. But they weren't luring us anywhere, because I had a feeling we were... Here. I looked at Wave, frightened. He was usually trying to look tough, but he was looking discomforted as well. We looked around the swamp, hoping to finda way out. But the marsh had covered our tracks, and there was no hint of civilization in all direcctions as their whispers penatrated their ears.
"Wave... Where are we?" I asked in a shaky voice. He just shook his head in reply.
"M-m-maybe we can try to find a way out?" I stuttered. Crashin' Wave just nodded.

And so we began walking.

We walked until our paws ached and we needed a rest. We were now sitting on the driest patch of ground we could find. But we had gotten nowhere. A few hours ago, rhythmic drumming began. It gave me images of indians with feathers tied around there heads and ghastly spears held above those feathers. The thoughts gave me the shivers again. Right when we were about to stand up and start walking again, a large furry creature with a scorpion tail emerged from the underbrush, roaring in fury. It must have been led here as well...

If it weren't for the adrenaline surging through my veins, I would be dead by now. The manticore was gaining fast, and I was running low on the substance that had saved my life. My glow stick banged against my chest loudly, forcing my heart to go at the same pace as it. Then an idea popped into my brain. With my tail, I reached out to my side and grasped one of the will 'o the wisps tightly, and brought it close to my glow stick. Just as before, my glow stick brightened. I fed more light into the wisp and the stick and lit up the entire forest. I swear, if my eyes were as normal as a blue jewel or red jewel or whatever jewel, my corneas would have been damaged forever. I was right, because I could see the manticore falling to the ground and roaring in pain.

I dropped the will 'o the wisp. I looked down to check if my glow stick hadn't burst. But something else had happened to it. It was now striped in swirling patterns of different colors, and it shone even brighter than before. What had the creature done to my glow stick? As I was musing over how amazing this was, Wave popped out of nowhere. "Holy crud, Dude! That was so freakin' awesome! How'd you do that?!" he exclaimed. "I didn't do it, the will 'o the wisp did." I replied. "We better get going if we want to get out of here..." I trailed, turning around. My jaws fell open at what my eyes were showing me. It was the city of California. (I'm assuming that's where all the dragons live) I dropped to the solid ground and lay, exhausted before falling asleep.

Something shook my shoulder. I snapped awake, and laid my eyes upon her. The beautiful dragon that I was in love with. She had moved away months ago. I guess that now that we're lost and had no idea where we came from, staying here with her would be just great. Her coat was the most beautiful shades of evening. Starting from her back and the top of her head, the colors slowly turned closer to a dark blue. I could almost see the sun setting. Her paws were peppered with glittering diamonds of the night sky. It seemed as though I could see the stars shining out into the night. Her eyes, oh, how they reminded me of the pinkest of roses; the softest of blankets; the most vibrant of butterflies... I could go on forever listing descriptions for her eyes. I was entranced.

Her voice, soft as silk, snapped me out of my wonderland. "I said, are you okay, Solaris?" she asked, helping me up with a starry paw. My coat tingled when she touched it. "U-uh... Hi." I stammered.

Well I grew up without parents,only my dear grandmother,whom past just 4 months ago...oh I miss her...

Sorry I'm getting lost in thought let me explain why chasing fireflies is my favorite activity,

When I was little I was mostly alone,so I'd go on little adventures in the forests around my home.One night in summer I saw a beautiful glow,and I followed it.Soon more and more of these beautiful lights appeared,as I got deeper into the woods.I came across a small lake,and a followed the fireflies.They took me on the most wonderful adventurous,and to me the fireflies are not just bugs,or pests as some may call them,they are my friends.When I turned 7,shortly after discovering my little friends,My grandmother gave my a handmade by her glow stick,of which she had designed never to go out.She said it symbolized my spirit,a beautiful flame,that could never be put out. <3
