"Eviana-Marie." The black jewel dragon spoke carefully, not really a hint of emotion in her cold voice. "Though, Eviana is a preferable side name."
I decided to name this jewel mane dragon Eviana-Marie, because the name struck me as soon as I saw her. It's long and graceful, just like the jewel mane dragon itself. And since I was going for a rather quiet, strict girl type of name, this one suited. The name means purely nothing, because I made up the name myself. If could choose a meaning though, it would mean exactly these three things. Silence, strong, and night. Those are some of the things that are relatable to this black jewel.

AMBITIOUS. This black jewel heads high for goals. She tries her best with her work, especially her fighting. Fighting, such as with her trusty sword, is one of the things she does that she actually enjoys.
RESERVED & INHIBITED
Eviana-Marie usually keeps to herself, rather than running around with something called 'friends.' No, no, she is way too busy with her regular activites.Violin lessons, Tea Ceromony lessons, piano lessons, tae kwon doe classes, gymnastics, cooking classes, and tutoring. The black jewel has sword training by herself as well. Eviana-Marie didn't really choose to keep herself occupied with all these classes. It was all her parent's choice. Eviana didn't talk much from the start much anyway. Her parents may have molded her into something different ffrom her real self, but this part of her went untouched.
DETERMINED & STUBBORN
This black jewel is usually very determined, and tries her best to get what she wants. And all this black jewel could ever want is her sisters to stay safe. To never have their laughter and joy sucked out of them and their wishes and dreams being crumpled and thrown into the trash. Just like hers was. Eviana keeps her role up of being the favorite of her parents, because of this. She has to protect those she loves or else they will get hurt from her carelessness. Making her a very loyal JMD.
PRACTICAL
This jewel mane dragon is a very good source of information. She rarely forgets anything, and if she does forget something then something is certainly wrong. Eviana-Marie tries her best to never forget. Anything. That would be a fault to her parents. The black jewel can't afford that. One mistake could easily kick her off her spot. She must not let that happen.
SUSPICIOUS
This black jewel is generally is a very suspicious jewel mane dragon. She thinks anyone and everyone could attack her or loved ones. Well, excluding her sisters and brother. Her parents though, can definitely suspects. She has no idea of her parents power, and it sounds like the sort of thing they could attempt.
COLD
Eviana-Marie is very cold, and is blunt as well. She does not fear of telling the truth, she is straight-out frank. The black jewel rarely ever bothers to sugar coat things. Sugar coating to this jewel mane dragon is just the same as lying. Eviana comrs off as a cold JMD, because well, she is one. Marie is especially cold to new JMDs. After all, the first impression is the most important impression. And Eviana-Marie must make sure she makes the best out of her first impression.
PESSIMISTIC
The jewel ane dragon is secetly a very pessimistic person. It is very hard for her to see the bright side of things, considering there is never really any sort of happy times. She's always secluded in the 'no fun-zone' by her parents. So, how is there a possibility of happiness when no sort of cheerful things are allowed? Eviana usually thinks of nothing but sad, pessimistic sort of things. Enough to make someone cry. Though, crying is exactly would get her demoted from the position of the favorite. And then what would happen then? She would have failed herself and her little sisters. The black jewel would be a weak person and she let her loved ones fall into the darkness. Eviana-Marie would lose the respect she had for herself if that happened.

"And why exactly why would I tell a stranger my whole life story?"
As a child, Eviana was never allowed to run around, scream, or do regular things that most kids her age did. During outside time at her school instead of going outside, she stayed inside and continued to study and work. Eviana-Marie's father was the owner of a huge company while her mother was an actress. They raised her under very strict parenting. She was only allowed to get 90s to 100s on basically anything. From simple little tests that are meaningless to your grade to tests that will determine if you go to the next grade or not. Every single little thing mattered. If Eviana did not succeed up to her parents expectations, she would be punished by her parents and looked down upon in the family. Eviana-Marie kept up her grades, stayed away from other kids, and did her best to be a good child. Until, her parents asked from more of her. They asked her to change her personality completely. To renew her in to a robotic-like girl. One that would be admired for her skills and not show any sort of emotion. Just like a doll. Exactly like a doll. Though, even if Eviana-Marie disagreed it wouldn't be a option for that matter. She would have to do it whether she liked the idea or despised it. Slowly, Marie transformed from a helpless, quiet young girl to a emotionless, strong little girl. Eviana-Marie learned never to cry, lose her temper, or be disobedient. If she did any of these things there would be consequences. Things especially got harder to deal with after her two sisters, Minerva and Divine Penombre were born. Her two little sisters always had a craving for their parents attention and were eager to try to replace Eviana's place as the favorite. While her little brother, Crashin' Wave didn't have any sort of needs to be favorite or center of their parents attention. The black jewel had to make sure she stayed as favorite. What would she do if she was unable to protect her little siblings and let them fall into the same never ending pit she ended up in? Eviana would simply all pride she had in her, well what was left. The black jewel loved her siblings more than anything, and she tried to protect them in every way she could. That's how life is to Eviana-Marie to this day. Living as a fool, all day, every minute, and every second. While her real self was still there, down deep in her soul where she could never find and crush.

"Could you give me sword lessons, Eviana?" Melodious Solo asked, with a bright gleam in her eyes. The jewel mane dragon so-called Eviana, glanced over to the smaller JMD. Her face was still and blank, never quite showing some sort of expression. "No." Her robotic answered. Melodious Solo looked sort of hurt, and hardly less than two seconds later a tiny head popped into Eviana's vision. "Eviana! just give her some lessons!" An angry voice from the tiny jewel mane dragon said. It was another black jewel, this time her little sister, Minerva. Eviana-Marie knew she had to obey her little sister. Minerva would pester her about it, and their parents wouldn't appreciate Eviana suddenly not obeying orders. Plus, Eviana loved her little sisters. The other one was probably off somewhere putting on make-up. "Yes, Minerva." Melodious Solo suddenly brightened up again, her smile turning upside down.
Melodious pumped a note covered fist. "Woot! I'm gunna be a sword-fighter!" she cheered happily. "So. When do we start?" she said anxiously, a huge grin painting itself over her face.
A blue dragon with intricate water designs walked into the yard with his wife, a white jewel with pink pads. "Hey Dudes! What's going on?" he called over.

"Nothing, Wave. Just talking about... Girl things. Now take Chione somewhere else and do whatever the heck it is you do," Minerva said in a hostile manner. The male in the distance raised his paws like he was being arrested by the police. "Okay then, Minerva." He didn't want any trouble from her. From mom and dad wouldn't be that bad, but his little sister punching him? No thanks.

"So, when do we start?" Mel said, excitement ringing throughout her voice.
"Maybe you two can practice out in the school field tonight. The school has pretty bad security, so can just practice all night if you want!" Minerva suggested, quickly jumping into the conversation. She was just trying to help Mel out with Eviana, she already knew about the situation. Eviana-Marie nodded slowly, completely agreeing with her little sister. She glanced back to Melodious Solo and spoke, "Alright, so it's settled. I will meet you at Crystal Jewel High's school yard at exactly 7:00 PM. Don't be late."
"I won't be late, Marie!" she promised, giving a playful salute. I can't believe I get to spend time with Eviana! I also get to be able to fight with swords. Boo yeah.
The white furred one jumped when there was a sudden cracking sound. Like water was freezing. She looked to their house, and saw a huge blue crest of water raising over the roof. White was running up along it, aiding the liquid by giving it a rigid structure. Minerva saw that her friend was looking up at it in awe. "Wave and Chione are just making sculptures again. Let's hope they don't drown everyone like they did last time!" she spat angrily.
The chirping of crickets rang in Eviana-Marie's ears as she waited for Melodious Solo to show up. The cold night wind grazed over her fur, and made the school yard move with life. It was a few minutes after seven, so the other jewel mane dragon was late. The black jewel sighed. She said for her not to be late. Guess she wasn't exactly listening. Eviana-Marie clasped one sword for both of her two paws. One sword was hers, and the other was brand new and for Melodious. Eviana bought it for her with her own money, since she doubted her parents would let her borrow money from them. She admired the swords in the palm of her paws, when suddenly she heard a stick snap. She whirled around, to end up staring at a prettied up Melodious Solo. Why was her fresh brushed so nicely, along with a glower in her mane, just for sword training...? Eviana-Marie questioned in her mind. "Well, you look pretty." The black jewel mentioned, and handed Melodious her sword. "Take your sword, Melodious Solo."
A slight discoloration appeared on her cheeks when Eviana complimented her. "Thanks, I uh, just came back from a band performance." she lied, taking the new sword. Eviana seemed to notice some false speech in her voice, but decided it didn't matter. "Hey, is this new?" Mel asked curiously, gazing at the polished blade. "Yes. It is new," Marie replied in her usual monotone voice. "Now, we start." Eviana flipped her sword from her left paw to her right.
Eviana-Marie glanced at Melodious Solo. "First, we have to test your skills. I have to make sure you aren't hiding some sort of talent or secret from me. Secrets keep you pent up, resulting to you being to slow for sword to sword combat." The black jewel explained, as she got in ready position to fight.
I have to fight her? What?! her voice exploded in a burst of echoes. Okay... Stay calm... Mel told herself. She held the sword in one paw, hoping she was holding it right. "Is this a two handed or one handed?" Melody asked the other dragon. "It's one handed." Eviana replied plainly. The latter jeweled dragon's sword flashed towards Melodious Solo. She had no idea how, but she had somehow managed to block her with just the tip of the sword.
The jewel mane dragon had to admit, she had under estimated her friend's little sister. Most dragons would easily knock the sword out of their paws or they would give up. It was too easy that way. Eviana-Marie jabbed at Melodious repeatedly, until her sword landed next to the other dragon's neck. "I knew it. You are hiding something, you just suddenly got really tense. Let it out, Melodious Solo. If you want to be a good swordsman, you have to."
Melodious noticed just now that her muscles were bunched. Her eyes followed the silvery sword as it clattered to the ground, eliciting a clanging sound. Melodious thought she could avoid this moment. But nooooo, karma just had to punch her right int he face and deny.

"I-I don't have any secrets..." shes tuttered nervously.
"You obviously do."
"No, I don't. How can you be so sure? Maybe I'm just tense because-"
"You are guarding a secret. Tell me what it is."
"Why?"
"Because you can't learn how to sword fight if you are not completely focus, Melodious Solo!" Eviana-Marie barked angrily.

Melodious was a bit shocked for a moment. She was getting her to actually break out of that emotionless trance! She decided to take her chances.

"Are you sure? I''m sure pirates had tons of secrets locked away, and they still could sword fight."
"Those were pirates. They never were true swordsmen!"
"Can you teach me the way a pirate would teach?"
"No! That would be teaching you incorrect things. That is something I would not do."
Now, the jewel mane dragon was getting downright frustrated. She was losing her cool, and fast. She had to breathe. She couldn't under any circumstances let her real self come out. She was not that person any longer. Eviana now had any emotion. No emotion. Like a doll, how her parents wanted it. Breath in, out. Breathe in, out. Breathe in, out. "Melodious Solo,you need to admit your secrets right here, right now. Otherwise, I'm going to have to say that I will so much as leave right now. I cannot deal with troublesome students. I will only spare my attention to the obedient ones." Marie told her.
I'm not going to tell her.
"Am I a nuisance?" she asked. Mel knew there was someone locked inside this statue. A strong, beautiful soul that couldn't be contained forever.
The black jewel narrowed her eyes. The night wind ruffled their fur and the field surrounding them. "Yes, you are nuisance. You are just nothing but annoying trouble." Eviana-Marie said in her monotone voice. Just like earlier this morning, The black jewel already began to walk away without Melodious's response. Not that the black jewel cared much for it. Eviana certainly had better things to do than deal with a troublesome girl.
An avalanche of hurt fell on top of Melodious and crushed every single bone in her body when Eviana began walking away. It took her a few moments to actually catch up with the fact that she was walking away.
"Wait!" she called out desperately, taking a few steps in her direction. There was no response.
She was farther from getting her to open up than when they had first met! "I... The secret is... Is that I'm in love with you! Okay?!"
Eviana-Marie stopped in her tracks. And let silence fall over the two, only the sound of crickets interrupting the silence. "Melodious Solo." The black jewel began. "I suggest you give up on me right now. Do something good for yourself. Find some dragon for you that's worth fighting for." Her monotone voice finished. She began walking along again.
Melodious Solo had to run to catch up with Eviana-Marie. Eviana was a fast walker. She eventually was able to plant herself in front of the JMD. "I have found someone worth fighting for! And she's named Eviana-Marie." the dragon said stubbornly, pausing to catch her breath. "Sure, I've had minor crushes on several guys before, but those were different. My feelings for you... They are about a hundred times more than those stupid little crushes, Eviana! I know true love when I see it."
Eviana-Marie studded Melodious Solo for awhile. It seemed everything the smaller dragon was saying at the moment came straight for the heart, and she surely meant it. Though, even though Eviana-Marie admired this, she shook her head.Eviana had to discourage her. "Melodious, you are only sixteen. You can easily mistake some other love for true love. And how would your parents feel about you dating someone like me? And how would my parents react as well?"
The black and white dragon's eyes watered. "Well... I-I'm about to turn seventeen... Plus, my parents wouldn't give a crap if I even started dating..." she took a second to come up with a good person. "...The Devil himself!" she finished. "Who cares what your parents say?! You determine who you are, not them!" Melodious wiped at her eyes. "I've got something in my eye..." she muttered.
Eviana-Marie's gaze hardened. "You are right. The only one who determines my life is myself. But, think about it, Melodious. My parents would punish, kick me out, or even disown me. What would I do then?"
"It's not hard to keep a secret! Even if they do find out and they disown you, then they aren't real parents. If they don't love their children, they shouldn't have children at all! Divine, Mini, and you deserve more love than what rare attention your mom and dad give you. You deserve more than that!"
Eviana-Marie's eyebrows made a crease in her face to make a frown. Her paw tightened around her sword. "Keeping a secret limits my abilities. It makes me a bad swordsman. I have to stay for Minerva and Penombre. If I didn't stay I would be a disgrace to myself and my parents. What kind of older sister would I be if I let one of them take my position, and turn into me?" The black jewel mumbled, some character in her voice starting to show.
Melody's lip trembled. She couldn't hold back the senseless tears anymore. A choked cry emitted from her muzzle before she fell onto Eviana's chest, shoving her face into her mane as she sobbed. Hard.
Life is so unfair to her. There were others whom had crushes on her before, and some she admired from afar, but her love for Marie was real. And she couldn't have it, because her true love was a female.
And even if Eviana dated her, her parents would disown her and either Minerva or Divine Penombre would have to step up and take her place. She couldn't let that happen. Mel couldn't do anything.
So she cried.
Eviana-Marie blinked as the smaller jewel dragon before her clutched onto her chest and started to sob. Her chest fur began to get wet from Melodious's salty tears. How come Eviana was so important to her...? She wasn't special at the slightest. All she did was run away from her problems and take everything on her shoulders. Marie wanted to hug her, and tell her she was sorry. Though, she knew that would be an error. "I don't have any feeling for you, Melodious. Goodbye." Eviana said coldly, as she pushed the smaller JMD away from her.
Melodious' heart felt like it shattered into a million pieces. Her body followed the fall of the shards, and fell hard onto the grass. She curled her tail around herself as she cover her face with note covered paws. This was about the millionth time she was rejected from something, but this time hurt the most.
She felt disabled, and couldn't feel the world anymore... Although, she would go back to keeping everything to herself like always. Minerva would be so disappointed if she gave up.
Eviana's heart tugged as she walked farther and farther away from Melodious Solo. Though, she didn't know why. There was a pain in her heart and gut, but she didn't know how to get rid of it. Her pawsteps and the crunching of the grass was the only sound left that night. No strong breezes. No crickets. Only Eviana and the lonely world. Well, at least her sword was there for her. That was the only thing that had ever been there. And so, Eviana-Marie walked her way home without a thought of turning back, while an melancholy black jewel cried her heart out in a school's yard.

Marma is feisty. She's a little hotheaded, and has a bit of a temper on her. She doesn't mean to be rude, or blow up in someones face, but she does. She can't help it. She's full of energy, and ready to go, go, go. She's also very protective, of the people she loves and her belongings. She doesn't like having her space or stuff violated. She feels exposed when someone, anyone, goes into her room, which is her safe haven. She likes people to keep their distance, and doesn't appreciate being touched whatsoever. Once you get past the initial "spoiled brat" impression, you see that she really is a loyal, caring soul. Even though she is not the most touchy-feely, I love you friend, she will always be by your side. She's a little insecure and self conscious. She knows she's not the most beautiful around, and that she's slightly chubbier than most JMDs.

She's rebellious, spoiled or not. She has a mean streak, a sarcastic sense of humor. She will come home, fling her little purse down, and crash on the couch listening to music, despite her father's warnings of all the work she has to do. She delays and delays and delays, eventually forcing everyone around her to do the work. Of course, she doesn't intend to come off as a snob, but it's what happens. Also, she like to change wording. She weasels around what she's supposed to do, and changes it a little, just enough for her to be different.

Mara loves sports. It's the major thing that she excels at. If there's something you need to know for sports, she's your girl. Where there are sports, there is Marm. To her, it doesn't matter what sport, just as long as it involves moving. She's very coordinated as a result, and knows her limits. She pushes herself to improve, and isn't afraid of sweating or getting dirty.
