Creative Piece: I stepped out from the cover of the thick trees, everything glinting from the reflection of the moon. Snow crunched under foot and for that moment everything seemed perfect. The chilly but refreshing air sent a tingle down my spine, making my fur prickle. The wide lake spread out in front of me as i crunched down to the bank. It seemed a lot bigger than usual. My reflection rippled as a leaf fell of my mane and floated on the lake. Snow capped fir tree's surround the lake and beyond that are the valleys and mountains. Everything is so beautiful at this time of year, where i can be my self and enjoy my surroundings alone I thought. I change in the winter time, i feel like i belong here. The confident, popular Equus Avis i am is replaced with a totally alien Equine. I look up, waiting for the moment. Stars wink at me, inviting me to join them. In a split second, from the sky being black it paints itself with greens, yellows and deep purples. This is it. The moment i've waited so long for and what my mother named me after. The aurora borealis takes my breath away. It swirls and swerves making my skin crawl with excitement. I lean back on my hocks and leap, I beat my pair of large wings and I am airborne. I skim the lake with my back hooves as i rise higher. I swoop and dive, dancing with the Aurora Borealis. I feel so, so alive.
Personality: She's very affable and makes friends in ease. Aurora has multiple friends including an orphaned snowy owl in which she loves to fly and play with. She loves to swoop and dive in the air and she practically lives for adrenaline. She's a bit of a dare devil and everyone knows it. At times she can be reserved and slightly secretive, she likes to go off to have time alone. Aurora is observant and admires the worlds beauty. She loves winter time when everything is coated in frost and deep snow. Aurora acts confident and a bit arrogant, although she is sensitive. She loves to show off in front of others.

Creative Piece: Tese closed her eyes lightly, folding her legs elegantly beneath her frame. She heard the subsiding thud of the hooves of her guardian as they walked away from her, satisfied that the foal would sleep. Unluckily for them, they didn't look hard enough. When the retreated footsteps faded to a silence, the young mare, jumped to her hooves almost instantly. Her eyes were sparkling in glee as she snuck a glance behind her, to find no-one watching her. She jumped forward, galloping into the darkness that was the night. The young foal had done this many nights in a row, though tonight was sure to be the best. A distant rumbling filled her ears, and she pinned them backwards. As she reached a ledge, her hooves sent rocks tumbling into the abyss below. For the first time that night, fear showed in her eyes as she backed up slightly, before racing forward. She tucked her legs under her frame and soared gracefully over the crack in the earth, the wind tousling her ruffled mane. With a thud, she landed on the other side, slightly breathless, though her heart thrummed in happiness. She galloped ahead once more, till she reached her destination. The cliff dropped off before her, revealing the sparkling blue of the ocean. Like all other nights before this, her breath was taken away as the full moon shone onto the water. Tese lay on the rock, gazing out into the ocean. This truly was her favourite time of night.

Personality: Tese is a mischievous girl, always getting into trouble and doing things her superiors tell her not to. She's always bouncy and full of energy, and is somewhat oblivious to the world around her, most often noticing things only when it is too late. However, her bundle of fun nature causes smiles to light up on the faces surrounded her, especially when the mare gets herself into a position, metaphorically or literally, that she can't get out of. Tese is rarely sensible, always putting her fun first before she even thinks about dangers or things of that sort. She's always been a act first, think later kind of gal. Nevertheless, when it comes to settling down, the only time you'll see her going less than 50 miles per hour is when she is asleep.

As you probably can tell by her nickname, Rufe is a tomboy. She shuns girly stereotypes and the girly girl types. As a result of that, most of her friends are boys. Their spirited games are more her style, being a daredevil. she isn't afraid to get dirty, and is more apt to be the chaser rather that the chasee. Rufe often feels inferior to the guys and is constantly playing catchup with them, even though they consider her their equal. On the outside she acts all tough, with an impenetrable shell, but inside she really needs some one to confide in. Rufe wont, or can't open up to anyone trying to help her, she is too used too fending for herself. All that aside, Rufe has a kind heart and would go to the end of the earth for a stranger in trouble, she s honest, honest to a fault and loves snow and rain, weather most others detest.
