Gherkin has an odd habit of making up songs about things. I mean, not just "Jingle Bells" around Christmas or "Friday" on Friday, literally everything. If somebody says, "that sandwich looks good," she'll make up a song about it, like:

ohhh, that sandwich
yeah, it looks so goooodddddd

or if her mother tells her to wash up for dinner, she immediately thinks:

woo-hoo
it's dinnertime
I wonder, I wonder
what is it tonight?
mac 'n' cheese?
spinach souffle?
cranberry enchilada?
oh, who knows?
let's wash up for dinner
'cause it's gonna be epic!

only, it's not always only in her head. she's trained herself to sing in her head only, but sometimes it slips out. that can lead to really embarrassing moments, especially if she has a crush on somebody.

:: how her flaws shape her ::
Gherkin's weird trait corrupts her life greatly. for one thing, she tends to be really quiet, because whenever she says something, she usually turns it into a song, and most dragons thing that's just awfully weird. Gherkin wants to be considered normal, but it's hard to make friends when you don't want to say anything in front of them.

Gherkin also has a daydreamy quality about her that comes from her songwriting habit. she doesn't often pay attention to what others tell her, because she's busy making songs in her head, so she has trouble with socializing and finds it hard to learn.

:: unique accessory ::
Gherkin carries around a small notebook in her pouch. she takes great care to make sure nobody ever finds out about it,and that she'll never lose it. she's owned it ever since she was able to write, and it's her greatest secret, because she keeps all her best songs in it. it's quite thick, so she still has plenty of room, but it's also rather battered, and pages are always falling out. she takes wonderful care of it, but it's not really made to be carried around daily. she occasionally writes down the music that plays in her head along with the songs, but not usually- it's a treat reserved for extra-special songs.

:: pet ::
Gherkin's pet is a female flying squirrel. it nestles in her pouch along with her book, and Gherkin in the squirrel rely on each other- the squirrel for shelter and food (Gherkin's quite fond of it) and Gherkin for the protection of her precious book. she even went so far as to name the squirrel "Melody," in reference to both her songs and her first song of all, when she was just learning to write:

it was intended to talk about how pretty the songs that ran through her ears were, but upon writing it down and showing it to her parents, they believed their daughter had a fondness for mold, prompting them to send her to a psychiatrist.

Gherkin doesn't have a very good memory, though seeing or hearing something familiar may cause her to recall something from the past.
How it shapes her-
Because of her inability to remember most things, Gherkin often asks the same question repeated times or needs to be reminded of someone's name. This annoys most beans, even though she really doesn't mean any harm.
Unique accessory-
Gherkin's favorite, unique accessory is her scarf. It is barely an inch wide, and is very long. It was a gift from a dear friend who knitted it for her, and it has a lovely peach color that reminds Gher of that friend. She is never seen without it, and usually has it wrapped around her neck and front paws because of its length.
Her pet-
Gherkin has a ferret kit named Thorn. He is usually seen riding around on her back, just between her shoulders.

How it shapes her-
as everyone knows, (or some people think) running into someone is the most sucsesfull way to make friends and enimies, so as Gherkin is always runing into stuff she has made lots of friends!
Unique accessory- a necklace with a dried cucumber slice on the end (see picture)

Greatest flaw/quirk- Well, most little beans are afraid of the dark. Not Gherkin, it's very unusual and strange, but Gherkin's actually afraid of the light.
How it shapes her- It's very hard for a bean to be afraid of the light. Constantly sitting in the dark, alone. She get's teased and made fun of. Gherkin is actually sometimes mistaken for a vampire bean. Scary, right? Most of the time, she'll be sitting under the bed, sleeping. The whole 'light problem' has caused Gherkin to become sort of, nocturnal.
Unique accessory- Call me crazy, but Gherkin has special 'wings' that she wears. Basically, she has two metal rings around each of her front legs, one on her wrist and the other around where her armpit is. She also has a metal ring around her waist. The rings aren't for decoration though, they're for holding the rest in place. Connected to the rings, is a strong, but light, piece of cloth. The rings hold it in place so it ends up looking like the skin of a flying squirrel or a sugar glider, except instead of it coming from the front legs to the back legs, it comes from the front legs to the waist. To pull the look off, thin sticks of metal were put on top of the cloth, and the whole thing was spray painted the green of her eyes. It ends up sort of looking like Toothless' tail fin (right) except green, and she wears it to be like Batta (you'll find out who that is later), and she can actually glide with it (but only for a very short amount of time and close to the ground).
Her pet- Gherkin has a bat named Batta. She's usually sitting on Gherkin's head or neck, holding onto her ears and using them as reins. Gherkin also has a pet rock named Mike. He's kept in Gherkin's pouch. But he's not really a pet, because he's a rock, and he's neglected.

How it shapes her-
This shapes her by allowing her to see laughter and the joke of the whole thing. The way others may laugh at her makes it easier for her to laugh with them because she has gained strength from her experiences and makes her a much nicer and just person to be around.

Unique accessory-
Gherkin wears a Silver Heart locket engraved with wings and a gem.
Inside holds a picture of both her parents.
This special locket was give to Gherkin by her mother hoping that one day they may see each other again <3

Her pet-
Well, what better pet for Gherkin to have than her very own,
Wyrm.

Vasanta is Gherkin's very own Wyrm that she has known for a while now.
They both keep each other great company and get along very well since they are both very fluffy.

Greatest flaw/quirk- Gherky has ADHD.
How it shapes her- Well, Gherkin cannot focus on anything. She has a short attention span if the subject doesn't interest her. Although she can't pay attention, she is actually very smart. Some dragons make fun of her, but she just ignores them because of her kindred spirit. As she always says,"Haters gonna hate."
Unique accessory- Gherky has a rope necklace that has on the end a green bead and a silver plate that has the word "faith" on it. Raisin gave it to her as a gift when she was younger.
Her pet- Gherky has a piglet named Rumbold.

Greatest flaw/quirk- Gherkin has an extremely rare type of colourblindness; monochromasy
How it shapes her- Monochromasy is the complete absense of any colour sensation - Gherkin has never seen colour in her life. She sees the world in black and white, like the old black and white movies. This has impacted on her life a lot, often depressing her and affecting her self-consciousness. She has found a way of filling those colourless gaps by making up stories, with a vivid imagination and wonderful descriptions. Those stories help her learn without colours.
Unique accessory- Gherkin has a little book with a silver chain where she notes down stories, events, ideas and sketches.
Her pet- Gherkin has a leopard gecko called Spotty eue

Greatest flaw/quirk-
She always tends to flip out randomly without remembering why she was flipping out.

How it shapes her-
Sometimes when she is all alone with her mother, her mother will often tell her she likes different people who don't act like others, or who stands out in the crowd.
Her mother tells her about her child-hood and her quirks, then Gherkin will know that she is different, and it makes her feel as her mother will always love her more than anything.
It helps Gherkin feel like she has someone who counts on her weirdness.

Unique accessory-
Her bracelet makes her feel as if someone cares for her, and has a hold of her forever to watch her back.
She got it from her mom on her birthday, because her mom wanted her to feel someone was there to grab a hold of her and be there for her.


Her pet-
She has a pet Jackalope called Lopshire. She is often called Lops or Lopsy on occasions.;;

Greatest flaw/quirk-

Gherkin hates walking on anything wet; wet grass, wet leaves, wet pavement. Every step she takes her body tightens up and sometimes she even cries at the sight, feel and even the thought of walking on something that is wet. It isn't much of a Phobia but just an extreme quirk that freaks herself and her friends out. Her parents have done everything they can to help her get over it, the only thing that seems to work is singing a little tune in her head.

How it shapes her-

Before she had been disgusted by the thought of walking on something wet, she would play in the rain, try and catch the drops, leap in the puddles but something made her freak at the thought of the wet so she can no longer play outside in the rain. Gherkin was a very loud and playful Jellybean Dragon before the incident, but as time went on she became shy and quiet, enjoying the solitude of her room instead of the outside world in which was full of noise and adventure. Something that had been a big part of her before.

Hehe. Yeh, I'm really shy because of it. I don't like drawing attention to myself. *hides behind toy tank*

Unique accessory-

Due to her quirk she has gloves on each paw to protect them from the wetness of any surface, this was suggested by her doctor however they haven't done anything for her. They are soft and spongey with a raincoat like fabric coating the outside, they tie up with a simple piece of dark green string that tucks away in the neat folds. The shade of Gherkin's gloves are a few shades darker than her pelt colour so they don't stand out to much when she is walking around.

Along with these 'gloves', Gherkin has dry grass bracelets on her tail, two of them, to represent the two stripes that other, common, Jellybean Dragons have. She weaved them herself with a little bit of help from Cheese, her Earthworm pal. When she's older she intends on getting some earrings or something of the sort but her parents won't let her get them now.

I love, love, LOVE my grass bracelets, not so much my gloves but they're apart of me now. They just feel....right.

Her pet-

Her pet is more of her best friend to her, he is a small Earthworm called Cheese which she carries around in her small pouch. Gherkin's little pal was named this due to Gherkins and Cheese being found in Burgers. They do absolutely everything together, the Worm and the Jellybean Dragon. Though Cheese likes to be damp so he goes out in the rain to roll about in the mud, Gherkin takes the chance to draw her little friend having fun but as soon as Cheese comes in, Gherkin cleans him off in the sink, careful not to spill any water on the floor else she would freak. Usually after Cheese gets washed, the pair of them play their favourite game, Tanks or if it's sunny and dry they'll go for a walk, Cheese in her pouch whilst she talks and tells him stories.

CHEEEEEESSEE! *huggles Cheese against chest before tucking him in her pouch* Nobody touches my worm.

Greatest flaw/quirk- Gherkin's greatest flaw is that she always is brushing her green fur and making it look nice. She loves being single colored especially green, she loves the color!

How it shapes her- She is always perky and happy, and smiling. She loves being with people, and laughing and having fun. She also enjoys shopping or looking at gardens, her favorite season is spring, month is march. She loves looking at new blossoms and buds, knowing how pretty they turn out to be. She secretly hopes that she will blossom into beautiful colors one day, even though she is happen right now.

Unique accessory- She wears a dark green scarf that has stitched on white flowers with lighter green stems. Its very soft and fuzzy, but it as a few tears and spots that have been repatched/stitched onto it. She almost always wears it, since oddly she is always kind of chilly and it keeps her nice and warm
