"A Scarred Defender"

Nocturne Runes are special little dragons that only appear at night. They love to consume firelight flies, a rather large lightning bug which inhabits Eldemore, and it is also their main food source. The males of this species are more elaborate than the females and larger in size. They sport more glow to attract females and even have a more aggressive side as they fight to show off their prowess in battle. Feisty but also true to their nature, this male is more reserved and reclusive than the others. His left eye seems to be damaged from a past battle as a scar crosses over it, making it hard for him to barely open it to a sliver. He tends to cover it up with his wing as well, as if he is ashamed of it in some way. This Rune also sports a soft golden glow to his coloration and large horns to do battle with. This male does not enjoy being touched and has no problem with his reclusive behavior. In fact, he seems to enjoy being alone and away from others and seems to be more interested in the simple beauties of life. However, he becomes actively aggressive around other Runes. Perhaps his scarring had something to do with another dragon and he has yet to forget it? Regardless, he will need extra attention and a patient hand to show him the world is not his enemy.

Personality:
Rust is difficult. That's one way to sum it up. He tends to act very cautious at times but also with a sense of yearning for affection. He likes to recline to a quiet place and brood in which case I will have to fish him out, ( hoping he won't chop off a finger. ) He's not the " cuddly " type, which I admire. Rust is strong, and independent. But everyone has a soft side, and at times, Rust's walls can come down. And if you're extremely lucky, you might even see the hint of a smile... maybe.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well, I have always believed dragons were beautiful creatures. Something about them is so... " hypnotic " To me, this little guy's scar told me he had a story. A story with potential to become great. So I came and read his description and here is a beautiful story, laid out in front of me; just waiting to be written. I couldn't resist.

Where will you keep him/her:
He will definitely pop up in my sig for a while, I am planing to ask permission for a new Rune Dragon RP, and he will also certainly go to my character thread.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
I like to treat my cherries as real ( even though... * sob * ) so I don't know if his personality would fit the breeding " crowd " but maybe he will be a protective father/mate ? Eventually though, yes.

I flew, for all I was worth. My wings were stretched to their limit, my bungs burned with the frosty night air and I flashed in the darkness. Merely a golden streak of light, bursting away from those who chased me. Mar was on my tail, literally. His sharp teeth drawing blood from my tail. I had messed with his pride for the last time. why do I insist on loving her? I thought. why won't my heart understand that Mar will never allow it? I was deep in thought, too deep. My focus was broken and I slammed into a tall pine, the soft needles tickling my back as I fell, down, down, down.
I crashed to the leaves and Mar with his goons came forward from the darkness, his fiery orange markings glowing so bright, it bathed a radius of ten feet in a crimson light. I awoke with the sound of wingbeats and I turned my vision to the sky to see... Zaymia. My secret lover, ( and Mar's crush ) must have come looking for me! I called her down but looking back, I wish I had died that night, for I will never forget her words. " You really are a weakling. Ha! I knew your pathetic little horns couldn't stand up to Mar. Look what he did to you! Your hideous! And don't even bother coming back. Your not needed. "
