    Dropping out.
    Never felt a great connection with her.
    And, on the bright side, I'm helping my friend Walk This Way!

"Who needs to hear words, when I can tell you all you need to know.. with a single stroke of my paint brush." ~Cerylia

Image
Art by Sayna Jaye

Name:
Cerylia

Why of all the names on Earth did I choose this one?:
I made up this name a long time ago and I found I was quite in love with it. I forgot how I came up with the name, but since I believe it fits her naturally I decided to name her Cerylia. Even if it isn't the best name ever, I still like it and won't change it ever.

What is the meaning behind said name?:
There really is no real meaning considering I made it up(it might actually be something, like a flower, but I'm not sure), to me it would mean "Beauty behind secrets." Why? Because Cerylia has many secrets that she would never tell anyone, it's hard to tell such a beautiful bean could hide so much.

What nick names might she have:
Cer or Ryla

Embarrassing nicknames:

She has one nickname that makes her a little angry, "Canvas"

Why are they so embarrassing?
You might know Canvas has something to do with art. Cerylia loves art, but hates when others make nicknames for her that have to do with her passion. She doesn't want to be known as the artist with a catchy nickname, but an artist with style. She feels strongly for art and that one individual who called her 'canvas' has made her a little embarrassed ever since. Of course most probably wouldn't understand why, but I guess that's the fun in it c:

Image
Height;
Cerylia stands to be about as tall as a cow; though not as heavy. In her younger days she was always a little bit shorter than the average JBD.

Description;
Cerylia is a slender female bean with enchanting purple eyes that could draw anyone in with one look. She has light gray fur and darker gray markings on her chest, neck, and tail; they aren't what you'd expect. She has dapples that color her body all around, some purple and some gray. She has noticeable purple spots on her tail that stand out from the rest of the colors. She has wavy, dark gray horns that she uses to her advantage.. how? With stylish accessories. Cerylia changes her accessories constantly, and her favorite accessories consist of two, silver ear piercings and string wrapping around her tail and horns with plenty of shiny stones hanging off the edge. She has smallish paws that give her a cat-like grace and a light step. Her tail fluff is very fluffy and her fur is well groomed.

Voice;
Cerylia's voice is gentle and light, it can be barley noticeable when there are other beans talking. Though she has a gentle voice, it cracks sometimes due to her playful attitude and talkative nature. Since she talks more than she means to, sometimes she'll talk too fast and end up with a slight crack in her tone; though she dismisses this easily.

Color she talks in;
Naturally she talks in purple.
And depending on her accessories for the day, maybe green

At first glance;
When you see Cerylia, you would think of a disorganized bean with nothing to say. She definitely seems mysterious in many ways and she looks like she's ready to surprise you with her luring personality. She isn't easy to get a hold of when you first meet her, she can be a little hesitant with talking at one moment, but then start talking full blast the next; especially when she's really nervous. She can seem bipolar or even strange, it's hard to notice the more complex details when not fully understanding her reason for most of her actions. I suggest not asking her about why she hates ice cream.

Under the fur;
A natural speaker, a natural friend, and a true artist at heart this bean can go from talkative and mischievous to sweet and shy. Her creative side comes out when she sees something unusual, and even though she's a little quirky, she can be easily hurt by rude words. Expect a lot from her, she's a very active bean who loves to inspire. When getting to know Cerlylia better, there's nothing mean she could possibly say. She moves quickly and in an organized way. Deep down Cerylia is a little shy, she doesn't believe in herself sometimes, and she's only looking for friends or other beans to cheer up. She talks when there's a tense situation, and even though that may seem like she's oblivious, it just means she's trying to ease up the atmosphere.

What's unique about Cerylia;
Cerylia is unique in many ways. She was born in China and took on the art of jade carving. She also likes to express herself using art instead of expressing her emotions with words, it might seem strange at first but you get used to it. She's very creative in her own way and she has very specific reasons for her choices in accessories. She knows martial arts and she can move swiftly on her paws when needed. Cerylia can speak some chinese, but since she and her mom lived secluded from the villages of China, she only knows how to write and speak a few characters. She also has this certain light to her, she can easily cheer up a friend or a stranger; she's a little mixed when it comes to words since sometimes she knows exactly what to say, though sometimes she can get nervous.

Deepest secret;
She doesn't like to talk about it. But when she was a teen, she had a major crush on a boy JBD and she would draw him a bunch of pictures. She made him a picture each month and when the pictures were put together, they formed a bigger picture that said "I like you". He unfortunately thought it was lame and she now thinks she'll never win a heart. She assumes her relationship skills are terrible, and therefore it is her biggest secret. She doesn't really know what others think of her way of expressing herself, though she doesn't hold back when it comes to art. She hasn't told anyone about this yet, but I guess everyone has had their share of a bad relationship experience.

Biggest fear;
Cerylia has many fears. She's afraid of the cold mostly, though she's also afraid of letting down her closest friends.
Being afraid of cold is natural, considering most don't like the cold, but she's terrified of it; it brings up too many bad memories. There's nobody she's closer to than friends, and without them she wouldn't know how to manage, if you are disappointed in her, try not to show it. When it comes down to fears, her ultimate one would probably be losing those closest to her. Since she lost her mother long ago, she hasn't been able to face the fear of being left alone again.

Why is she afraid of the cold?;
Frozen Path

I could always just say I don’t remember. But I remember it clearly, and even though sometimes I want to forget, I know there’s never going to be a missing part to this story. I was travelling high in the mountains with my mother, I was still young but there was
Image
no stopping me when it came to finding Jade for the jade carvings my mother and I created. To know I had the power to mold jade into a beautiful sculpture was enough to keep me going. We were both unsuspecting victims to a snow storm, which slowly began breaking through the barrier that separated it from our world, a violent clash between two opposites. There was nothing but white, a colorless world stood before me as I desperately tried to keep up with my mother. “Cerylia, stay close there’s no way we can go back now!”

It’s hard to believe how quickly we fell apart from each other and how quickly the snow storm began to get worse. My mother’s form began to fade away into the cold snow. I couldn’t see her anymore.

“Mom!” I called to the wall of white, hopelessly clinging to every last bit of courage. Any word I yelled out was ripped away by the roaring winds, carried off to some unknown place to be lost such as I was. Snow buried inside my fur, making itself comfortable and stealing every piece of warmth I still had. Was it wrong to feel scared? I wasn’t sure if thoughts were necessary at this point, since I felt like even my mind was frozen from shock. Describing a pain where you can’t feel your body at all is a tough task. I fell into the snow with a crunch and darkness welcomed me into its empty soul.

I woke up with frozen tears on my muzzle, they whispered to me, reminding me what caused my sorrow to begin with; mother. That single word sent a shiver down my spine that even the cold could not create. The first thing I did was search my tail for the jade stones that my mom gave to me. They were still tightly wrapped around my tail, literally hanging by a thread. I didn’t want to look away from the jade stones; they were the only things left that brought happier thoughts. A looming shadow in the corners of my vision tore my gaze away from the accessories. It felt like my legs were moving on their own, leading me to safety; or really a shadow that seemed to draw me forward. My ears burned though I was certain they were frozen. It felt like empty space where my paws should be, but I saw them every time I looked down. I was trapped in a world of confusion and delirium that was my mind. I didn’t count how much time had passed, but I made it to the shadow I saw. Though I saw it in more detail now, it was a small cabin that looked misplaced in this mountainous terrain. I debated reaching for the door, but really there was nothing worse that could happen so I knocked.

Is this a cliffhanger? Maybe. But if we were both hanging from a cliff right now you probably wouldn’t want to hear the rest of the story. Anyway, this is why even a single touch of cold leaves me with unwelcome memories. I haven’t found my mother yet, and my jade stones are the only thing I have left from her. I’ll never take them off.

The Rice Hat:
When I was lost in the mountains and caught in a bone chilling blizzard, I wandered for a long time no doubt. A part of my soul had been lost in the mountains as well, my mother. My mom was the only one there with me my whole life, we lived together and she helped me see how precious art can be. I hold my jade stone accessories close, but there’s another accessory I wear that contains its own special story if you’re willing to listen.
A cabin stood before me, the brown structure contrasted against the white snow that surrounded me. As I knocked there was a shuffling sound from inside and the door swung open. I was faced with a tall jellybeandragon. His fur was graying and he had ram horns that looked like they curled endlessly, it appeared as if those horns were just as long as this bean’s life was. One feature that stood out from the rest was his rice hat, it was a bit small for him but he didn’t look like he noticed.
“I didn’t expect such a young bean to be at my door here, what do you want?” His voice was raspy with age and he stared straight at me. I shifted on my paws, the cold finally getting to me as I recklessly swept past him and curled up on his couch, grateful for the warmth it held. “Hey! That wasn’t an invitation!” He sounded more amused than angry.
“I’m sorry… me and my mom were in the mountains when the blizzard came through, we got separated and I’m cold…” I trailed, feeling a little foolish. I couldn’t help but wonder; however, why this bean was way up in the mountains all alone, “I’m Cerylia.” I offered.
“Jervakin. I see you were looking for jade so you could sell some carvings. You could stay here until your mother finds you I guess.” Jervakin said, and when I gave him a confused look he laughed warmly and gestured toward my jade stone accessories. He was observant; he didn’t let his age alter his intelligence. From then on, I stayed with Jervakin. He gave me a home and even though we both knew my mother would never come he stayed on the borders of that subject. We traveled through the mountains together occasionally and I taught him just as much as he taught me. I showed him how to carve jade statues and he taught me Chinese martial arts and meditation. Even though I refused to go outside when it was cold, he tried to convince me that behind every fear was courage.
The mountains were merely an obstacle for me to face, a beautiful yet dangerous landscape that made painful memories stir. Jervakin told me a lot about his life, and I finally found out why he wore such an undersized rice hat. When he was young, he had a wife that loved to make rice hats. He explained that his wife had a strong passion for it, and he saw that passion in me when I made statues. When he sent me on my way, I wasn’t the only one he was parting with. “Cerylia, I want you to keep my rice hat. It used to be my wife’s and as you can see it was made for a smaller head.” He didn’t seem hesitant at all with his choice, and it was heartbreaking to me. I learned much from Jervakin, and he helped me in more ways than I could understand.

One true wish;
Her wish is to become an artist who can turn anything into something beautiful. She wants to make beans happy and show them what they couldn't see on a daily basis. The best part about life is beauty, the radiance of anything can be shown no matter how gloomy. Whether it be friendship, nature, or love in general, she wants to make everyone happy. She even wants to become a great jade carver like her mother was.

Theme song:
Let me sing it for you~
I wanna be, the very best. Like no-one ever was! To catch them-

Kiss from a rose- By Seal

What Factors point to her being female?:
Her sweet nature, her love for art, and her beautiful purple eyes. What female isn't sweet and caring? Well, some might not be, but it's easy to tell since her sweetness gives her that motherly feel. Luring, bright purple eyes that belong to a female, who wouldn't be able to tell? I'm sure you noticed her creativity, the way her eyes light up when she sees a drawing; Cerylia has a gentle caring for art and its ways.

What might confuse CS citizens about her gender?:

Sometimes her actions or her gray colored fur could lead one to believe she isn't what she looks like. Since Cerylia can't act like a girl all the time, she may want to use something messy to make art; consider dirt for example. If she has an idea, there's nothing stopping her from making that idea come to life, even if it includes being messy.

What maleish features might she have?:
Even though she's a genuine female, there's no doubt that she isn't afraid to get messy and play with danger; which most females might not be fond of. Cerylia can face danger without a second thought. She's been in tough situations before and had to deal with them throughout childhood, there's nothing that can scare her.

Age:
Cerylia is 20 years old, almost 21

What qualities make her seem older;
Cerylia is young, but she has a great understanding of the feelings of others and she knows when to say something and when to keep her tongue. She's sofisticated in a way, so she can seem older.

What qualities make her seem younger;
Since she loves to wear accessories and keep herself unique and artistic looking, she tends to seem younger. She's somewhat carefree and very sweet, which gives her a young feel. I guess her horns offset this belief.

How has personality changed through out the years, who/what played a role in said change, when did it occur? what happened?:
When Cerylia was way younger, she was always depending on others to do her work and keep her on her paws. Her heart knew what it wanted, and eventually she became a great artist and a very loving JBD. When she was little, she had a very bad experience with the cold; which is why she now fears it. Nobody was there to help her, and she had to do what she could. She came to realize that even in tough situations, she doesn't need to be a baby and tell others to do things for her. Even now she can be a little afraid of the cold.

Backstory:
The Tale of the Jade Stones
Now when Cerylia was a rather young Jelly Bean, she and her mother lived together in China. Now they didn't live the greatest lives, but they were luckily not the poorest and made an honest living carving out jade statues. These statues were their way of life, and were very popular among those in their village. In fact it was very common for everyone in their village to have at least one item made from the jade Cerylia and her mother collected daily.

Image
Cerylia even has her own, those jade stones that hang from her tail and horn, that were made by her mother. At the time both had lived alone and away from the villagers because of the peace and tranquility that seemed to soothe her mother's often frantic nerves whenever they would go into town. Her mother was a very hard worker, unlike Cerylia when she was younger and was always overworking herself in a rushed, busy setting. So for a change of scenery as well as medical reasons, they both had moved into the mountains high above the village, where it was said that an ancient dragon had lived there thousands of years ago. Cerylia learned from the village children, that it was a rather sacred home as well.

It happened when I was young, just barely a few years old with my mother. We were traveling through the forest to the Jade caves that were located near the mountains that towered over our home as well as the village. My mother was hoping to make a rather large jade carving of the supposed mythical dragon that was said to guard over our village and act as protector to both the jade caves and the village they live in.

By then I was still learning how exactly to get the jade out without breaking too much or too less of the jewel we needed to use for our carvings. Of course I was a bit difficult and ended up making a mess most of the time, much to my frustration. Thankfully though my mother was more than skilled enough to help me and soon we were gathering more than ond tub could hold, so we would have to make two or three trips back and forth to get what we needed.

My mother would heat the Jade a bit so it could be easier to carve into sculptures and often in complete silence I would watch her heat and re-heat the surface with her fire and think to myself "one day that will be me". I knew I'd become a carver like her, or at the very least learn how to carve like she did. It wasn't until I began to grow up a little that I realized that this kind of work was actually helping my mother and her nerves rather than hindering her; so I was glad whenever I got the chance to see her in complete tranquility.

One day I told her I'd gather some jade just for her. So I left the following morning and went down to the mines, but even if it was hard work, the jades I collected all on my own for the first time were made into the accessories I now wear. My mother made them for me and they remind me each day that I can be successful.

Personality:
The first and best way to describe this girly is artistic. She loves to draw, and paint wonderful pictures, but from the strangest of tools. Such as using berry juice for paint and her tail for a paintbrush. Or smearing toothpaste on a black sheet of paper. Or even using a fork as a scalpel when she's making pottery. The point is art is a very important concept to her. Very often this results in a very messy way of creating such art, but it's very fun for her and is one of her favorite hobbies and she loves it.
As well as being artistic, Cerylia is also very, very playful. She can't help herself and tends to sometimes get carried away as she plays with the others. She enjoys a good game, prank or trick and can most times be found with Jello when he isn't so obsessed with his cakes planning a new trick or prank on the others. While not as sneaky as Paranoia she still happens to be a pretty good prankster and enjoys a good romp. Being as energy filled as she is doesn't help matters either, and makes it worse than it is.
Now one flaw about Cerylia is...well once she gets going there's no getting her back. In other words when she starts talking she'll keep talking, for like a long amount of time. Especially if it happens to be about something she likes or enjoys. But really what many don't know is that she uses it to hide more important feelings on the inside. She just doesn't want to get hurt when all's said and done and honestly who could blame her? Which is why the power of gab is rather strong in this one and it's hard to stop.
Remember what I said about the important feelings on the inside? Yeah well, Cerylia tends to be rather sensitive. And it's because of that sensitivity that she's so talkative. Cerylia hates when her feelings get hurt because then she always, and I mean always, has the "stupid", in her opinion, urge to bawl her eyes out. And she hates it. She doesn't like the idea of being soft at all. She wants to toughen up, but when emotions are haywire and things are spinning out of control it's hard to keep your head, much less your tears. That's hard enough.When it comes to sweetness there's no one better at it than Cerylia. When she sees you're not feeling your best or you look so tired, this girl will often do whatever she can to brighten up your day. Whether that be giving you hugs, or making you breakfast, or even making you art, Cerylia will do what she can, when she can and for her when you smile or chuckle that's when she knows she's done good. She especially loves to see when a person's frown turns into a smile and she'll do whatever she can to help them. Now this is for all you guys out there, who want to meet this girl. Let me warn you, she is a tease. Very often when she flirts with a guy, she enjoys to show off a little bit, but when the guy is interested she disappears. Now it's not really something she can control, but she loves a good game of cat-and-mouse so she's gonna play a good game of cat-and-mouse. Only problem is you might find you're the mouse and she's the cat. Not that it's really a problem for her, just you. She can be flighty too.

Why do I want her?:
I'm an extremely picky person, even when it comes to JBDs. I've tried for few JBDs, and I've lost a lot of the ones that seemed like they'd be perfect for me; I'm glad to have won Paranoia<3
The point is, I choose JBDs with my heart and from what I see. To me, a JBD should have a unique, firey passion to it, a clear representation of who they could be and who I can make them become. I'm not one to go around trying out for every JBD because I simply want one, but because I want one to care for and give a meaning to. I would never go for a JBD that I don't want, because they wouldn't get the home they deserve. I am always very sure of the JBD that has that spark I search for, and even now I can't stop thinking about her. I have a feeling this girl will be on my mind all day/shot
Anyway, since I've lost most of the JBDs that were calling to me, I still go to their pages and make sure their owners care for them like I would have. I wish it wasn't so hard for me to find the perfect one. Honestly, I have a strong connection with simple yet very appealing designs and I love to be creative and try my best to make Cerylia's story come to life. I don't care about competition, usually I'm very low on confidence, but I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't try for this one.

If I won:
If I won this beautiful bean I would be so happy. I've spent a long time figuring out exactly how she will be and what her culture is. I've been taking Chinese class and their culture is interesting enough so I decided Cerylia can be unique as well c:
I would definitely give her a place with my other JBDs in my characters thread, find her a bunch of friends, get art of her, and occasionally RP with friends. I'm active with all of my JBDs and I give them each a special personality and history. I was waiting for the perfect bean for my last slot and I didn't expect one to be designed so quickly but I'm very sure of my decision ^^

Name: Lavida

aBackstory:
Lavida was a differnt from all the other beans growing up she was rather plain while all her other friends where bright and colorfull. But this fact did not phase her much but deep inside she couldn't help to feel she needed to brighten herself up a bit make her stand out more they she already did. While walking in town she came apon a little jewerly stand it was selling two lime green earing and a beaded braclet to match she instantly fell in love with it. She reached in her pocket and gave the dealer the last of her monney she put the earings on a string and tied it to her horn.She tryed the necklace on her neck but didn't like it so she dropped it but as she walked by her tail dragged and tangled into it she then lifted her tail and to try and pull it off but found out that she really loved it there.

Personality:
Lavida is a party person who is very outgoing she trys her best to not fit in with the rest of the crowd and her fur already helps her with that. She loves to cook and spends most of her days when not working in the town bakery she spends it making meals for the less fortionate beans in society. Most call her a angle for helping out but she is just doing anything to help and adspecting nothing in return.

Whatchya gonna do about it? >:3). One day, though, my wish was granted. A magical person found me. She asked me what my deepest wish was.

Of course, I told her about my ideal version of life.

She chuckled hoarsly, then began waving a magic wand and I was teleported to the doorstep of my new awesome crib. I had an HD flatscreen TV with at least a billion chanels, and even more fantasy books on my shelf from Harry Potter to Beowulf. I had a giant fridge filled with only Sprite and chocolate. I had an awesome monkey butler who could only say "milkshake". He had these ears that-

Wait, that can't be true! C'mon, Nalia, tell us your real story!

You want the true backstory? Fine. But my first story is much better than my real story.

The begining of my story was true. I was born on the streets of Lyon with my mother and father. They both tried their best to make me happy, though I couldn't stand how dull my life was. Everyday was the same, get up, eat breakfast, go to school, eat lunch, study, then dinner. Though there was this valuable time after dinner right before the sun set when I was allowed to play. I had the best times. It was like my little esacape. I would pretened that I was a troll, or an evil king, or anything really. I felt free. Real life sucks like that. You're stuck being how you were born, you can't change things you don't like about yourself or your life. But anyways, back to the story. I was playing outside one evening when I spotted these strange little beads by a tree. They were bright neon green, all glowly in the evening sun. They were strangly warm, and when I picked them up I instantly felt happy, like I could do anything and be anyone. I decided to keep them and I tied them to myself as a tail bracelet and horn rings. I know felt that happiness wherever I was, and I soon got an idea from the beads.

I decided that it was time to leave home. I rushed out late one night without telling my parents (like the rebel I am B|) and ran through the streets quickly. I eventually made it to the heart of the city, where I found an abandoned apartement. "Perfect," I had thought. The beads soon started glowing even brighter, giving off an eery feeling. They did not feel comforting like they usually did.

It felt as though the beads were making the string tie even tighter around my poor tail and horns. I ignored it and went on to live in the apartement for the next few years. The string seemed to get tighter and tighter each day.

One day, I decided that enough was enough. I tried to untie the string and take the beads off, but I soon discovered that the beads were not coming off. Ever since that day I have been stuck with these evil things.

Lol I guess I just told the tragic tale of my backstory, as well as how I got these wretched beads.
