As I look at the grey sky, my hooves hit the cold, hard ground. Lightly, they spring off, and I continue running. Towards what, I don't know. But the wind is my wing, I jump higher, take off quicker. Fall. Autumn. My favorite season. Behind me, my long tail trails the start of fall. i bring the change to the world, glad to being the joy of the season. Winter is so cold, you must stay inside, or else you will freeze. There is no food to be found on the ground, just dark, or snow. Snow is beautiful, but can become hazardous. Cars run off the road. Spring. The time of rebirth, it quickly warms. It brings flowers and leaves, and... spiders. Euhh. Just thinking about the creepy, leggy, weird things makes me shiver. Spring brings bees, and awakens animals, bringing birds back from their winter vacation from somewhere warmer. Summer continues to get hotter and hotter, until you run out of water, and the sun burns you til you may be confused as a tomato. But autumn... The time of rest, the time of the reds, golds, browns, yellows, orange... The wood fires, sending their smoke and creating the harvest smell. You wear a jacket, but you will not freeze. My cold heart gladdens when I think of the harvest food, the colors, the sights, the smells. Ah, I am nearing the end of my run. As a final jump, I leap into the sky to my brothers, seasons in their own right. They match exactly. I love them, but the fall will always be mine, as I look on the people strolling through red parks, to markets to buy fresh food, watch the animals stock up. My wind-wings feel as light as my heart as I prepare to wait for fall to draw to a close.
