With her feminine charm though, it's all there.

Short story of a good deed

It was just a normal, in eventful day in the firehouse. Nothing interesting going on here. Kat was just lounging in the fire chief 's lap when a loud beeping emitted, almost shattering her ear drums.
Fire!
The word exploded in her head like a firecracker. She leaped off the chief's lap, and ran after him as they prepared to leave to their destination.
A few short minutes later they were at a smoldering house. Fire peeled off the roof in black, ashy wisps. The fire fighters got to their positions hurriedly. Kat went inside to help get the people out. Of course, she lost the chief in the ink black smoke. Coughing, she found an inhabited room. The door had refused to open. Over and over, she brought all the force into body slams against it.
After several minutes if this, she got the door open.
Now she led the small boy out of the house and onto the pavement. No one had gotten killed, except that Kat had a few mild burns, along with the humans.
She watched as her team hosed the house down with the huge, glimmering stream of water. A few minutes later, the house was doused, but badly burned. The boy she had saved hugged her, and whispered in her black and white ears,
"Thank you. Thank you, firefighter."

I really loved your form, your short story was simple but it told enough.
