The street was dark. Only a few lanterns outside of the houses shimmered through the darkness.
I sighed. What makes Halloween so special anyway? I know, i know, all the candy and the tricks are much fun, but I just don't think it's all that special. And why do they put out all the street lanterns on a night such as this one? It's already dark enough! *shivers* I don't really like the dark....
I walk on, my bag hugged against my chest. Why does my house seem so far away all of a sudden? I know it's only a ten-minutes walk from my university, but it seems like a road through Hell. I focus on my shoes. I've always been a scaredy cat, even kids in silly costumes scare me.
I see the lights of my house in the distance. The lights welcome me home. I start walking faster. I open the gate to the garden and walk to the door, only to trip over something that's laying in the middle of my garden.
"What? Who's there?" I scream.
A startled yap comes out of the mouth of the weird creature obstructing my way home. The creature growls and barks at me.
"What? A dog?"
The dog barks again. "I am no dog, silly human, I am an Anubian."
I just sit there, blinking my eyes, not believing the fact that the weird dog just spoke!
"Why is an Aburenan lying in my garden?"
The dog growls "Anubian. And... well, i kinda got lost and sleepy..." The dog seems to blush! I don't believe it!
I suddenly start to pity the poor dog. He must have been scared so alone in an unknown place....
I smile to the dog. "Okay, let's find your home then." I make a gesture to my front door "Come in and tell me in what kind of place you live."
The dog looks at me with suspicion, then shrugs and follows me inside.
