Daydreamer: The characters you adopt cannot have any relations to your fursona, it's against Tough as Nails policy and the donator made it clear in the special conditions that it was against her wishes. You have to remove your fursona from the background.

I would like to adopt!
Number: 12
Picture: Image
Name: LaCrymosa
Species: Red panda
Personality:
Background:
Background: Lacry was born deep with in china's great bamboo forest. Where the sun rarely touched the mossy green floor, many took home to this place. Lacry's ears were always filled with the songs of those around her. True she was a “freak of nature” due to her fur color, her parents couldn't careless.
One night, however, a storm was brewing, though not of the sky. Mind's of the “beats” as Lacry's mother would put it, had contemplated a take down or most red panda's in the area. When lacry's mother had gotten word of this, she did all she could to remove her from the area. Lacry's mother grabbed her by the back of the neck, “I'm sorry my child, we must part”, a whimper came from her mother's throat. She passed lacry over to an older panda who carried lacry over two rivers.
Carried through a long distance, alone and confused, the small panda roamed, only guided by the knowledge that was handed down to her from a caged tigress whom she found only three days after her mother had left her in a brush. She fallowed along the path, reminding herself over and over again of what the tigress spoke. “walk far south, until you come across an odd fennec with a wolf mate, only there you will seek freedom.” the pain in her eyes as she spoke hit Lacry hard. She could feel the sorrow and fear deep in her voice.
Before she had realized it, Lacry had made it to a deep forest, beyond that she could feel the hot winds of a desert near by. She hollowed hard and jumped upon the nearest tree's trunk, scaling up with ease.
“how on earth would I find a odd fennec? I don't even know what a fennec is” she sighed in a small high voice. “its a rather small fox” a voice snaked its way to her ears. Her eyes opened wide as she peered over the branch she had been resting on. Under the branch a large white wolf with many strange stitchings roaming over its body. The old had foggy, misty eyes that reminded Lacry of a dead corpse.
“now, what did you mean by odd?” the wolf spoke again, her voice was like that of a snake. Lacry waited for the wolf's tongue to flicker out like one. “I-i'm sorry, I don't have an idea of what I meant by that as well” she sighed, never removing her gaze from the wolf. The wolf spoke quietly almost like a metronome, hooking lacry's attention. “if its the same fox i'm thinking of, they why not fallow me?” a malevolent grin crossed her muzzle.
She slowly started down the old tree. Her nails hitting just about every broken bark that had peeled somewhat off the tree. The cracking noise seemed to irritated the white wolf greatly. Lacry finally made it all the way down, once she waited for the pain in her paws to subside after her jump from the tree, she smiled at the wolf. “forgive me, but what was your name?” she cocked her head to the side, curling her tail over her front paws.
The wolf looked at her for a few moments before finally deciding to speak. “you can just call me lo-lo” she smiled showing her fangs and canines. “child, what happens to be your's?” the wolf's ears twitched as she started to walk around Lacry. “um well er, its a lacrymosa” lacry was nervous at lo-lo's passes.
The both of them moved onward through the night, the small lacry, napping on the back of lo-lo. Every now and then she would look over her should to check on the small red panda, licking her chops. “oh child if you only knew that your quest would lead you to your parents in the next world” she chuckled to herself.
By the time lacry awoke, the sun had since been in the sky. It was mid-day, she was still on the white wolf's back. Lacry looked at the marking on Lo-lo's neck, realizing they were not truly markings, but stitchings. “lo-lo how on earth did you get all of these scars” she spoke with a worried voice. The white wolf took many a while to reply, “its a hard life out here child” was all she said.
Before lacry knew it they were at the edge of the forest, the hot winds whipped passed them like the mighty swing of a tiger's tail. Night was starting to set in, and lacry knew lo-lo was tired of walking.
Lo-lo awoke from a scent that hit the air. It stirred her emotions greatly. Her eyes seemed to glow from with a new energy, the once dull, glazed eyes. She moved quietly and slowly towards lacry, towering over the small odd panda. A loud snarl roared through her throat awaking lacry from her slumber. A loud yelp as as the wolf lunges forward. She closed her eyes, awaiting the pleasant grasp of death. Another loud roar ripped through the air as. She opened her eyes to see a another large wolf, this on was black with red ringed tail. To the left the brush started to move. a blue and black fox wandered out look at the white wolf, his fur bristled as he snarled.
he looked back at lacry "your luck shes getting old kid" he smiled as if to make this matter funny. another snarl ripped threw the air, "old, I'll show you old" the white wolf took off after the fox, she was just about to snap her muzzle shut when a a pain raced through her body from her tail. shooting back a glare to see the black wolf had grasped a chunk of her tail. she glared back at the fox. before taking a bite at the black wolf's face and leaping off in to the darkness of the forest.
the fox trotted over to the black wolf, as he bent his head down. the fox started to licking the blood away from his eyes. Lacry slowly got up "who are you" her voice was shaky. the fox turned back and smiled, I'm your new friend, and this" he looked up at the black wolf " is your body guard", the fox smiled once more.
Lacry sighed a heavy sigh of relief, "i'm finally home, mother" she said to herself, walking over to the oddly match pair.

Name: War
Species: Smili
Personality: War is a very sweet Smili. He is fairly aggressive, but makes up for it in his sweet, people person attitude. He is the absolutely sweet to his owner and who he feels close to.
Likes: Outdoors, Weapons, Family, Jarloo
Dislikes: Bright colors, Being Sick, Obnoxious People.
Background: Ahh, the day I got adopted. I remember it so well...
The lights turned on in the white room. "Wake up guys," the Smili Handler said. He walked in with food bowls, water bowls, and some treats. He placed two fresh bowls in each of our cages. I ate my breakfast like any normal day. Pretty much just our basic diet of meat and supplements due to our variety of specific sub-species. We all ate it quickly because we wouldn't get another meal until the end of the day. After we ate, our handlers took us out one by one into our separate pens with different fake habitats also due to our specific sub-species. I knew they were fake because they're vegetation tasted horrible and they're rocks were not solid. But anyway, I hung out my my windows and tried to get some sunlight to warm my fur.
As mid-day came around, visits rolled around. Many people, women and men, who come and look at our varieties and coloration. We rarely get adopted because of our bizarre looks, coloration, and the occasional potential health defects. With that aside, we got the normal amount of people to the visit. But this one girl, I don't know, she just looked as if she was very sweet and not like most of the other breeders and adopters. She had short brown hair and beautiful blue eyes, kind of like mine. She looked at all the Smilis with sweet eyes and a non-threatening attitude. I really seemed to like this girl.
After she looked around at all the Smilis, she began to talk to our handlers. She made them laugh and I later found out her name was Jarloo. Hmm, interesting name for a human, but I respect her interest in exotic names. Ah! I keep getting off track, ok, so back to the story. Jarloo continued to talk to our handlers and them they began to point at us. She came back to most of us and slipped us a slice of meat and watched how we responded. I took the meat happily and ate it slowly, still keeping my eye on her. Jarloo laughed, I guess she thought my reaction was funny. She walked back over to our handler and pointed back at me again. I wonder if she realizes pointing is very rude, even to Smilis.
Our handler walked over to me and open the door I enter through. "War, there's someone here to meet you," Our handler said. I walked over to the door and he slipped a muzzle over my snout, since I was thought to be aggressive at times, and then put a harness over my body and clipped a leash to the harness. He walked me over to Jarloo and she kneeled down and began to stroke me. Her touch was soft and kind and her hands felt warm, unlike those rocks. She slipped another slice of meat through my muzzle and I ate it. Jarloo laughed. I liked her laugh. It made me feel like a comedian, a word I learned from a TV show our handlers watch in our White Room sometimes; it means funny person.
Although I liked being with other Smilis, I wished I could go home with Jarloo. She stood up and I walked over to her and looked up at her with my blue, sad, Smili eyes. She asked the handler something about me and he said he'd have to think about it. It turns out, I really did get adopted by Jarloo. She's a wonderful owner and she takes wonderful care of me. I love her a lot and I'm super glad she decided to come look at our Smili adoption place. I wonder what happened to everyone else. Oh, well here I go again, going off topic. Well thank you for listening to my story and I hope you enjoyed it.

The forms have all been gathered for evaluation now. ^^

Designs on the editable Oekaki can be submitted so long as they follow the same rules as free lineart and link back to the original Oekaki lines. Also, I'd really prefer it if the actual image is submitted rather than just a link to the Oekaki. Images from the Oekaki can be posted the same way regular images are: right-click, go to Properties, copy/paste the Address between the img tags, and you're good to go. :3

When will you know if you win? Does it take a few days to know if you got the character or a week or a few hours?

This is my first time applying for a character so I'm a little nervous. :|

I would like to adopt!
Number: 5
Picture: Image
Name: Voided Abyss
Species: Astral Fox
Personality: He likes to act like a loner, but there's no denying his love of company. Even if the company consists of watching over another, it's welcome company. He's relatively quiet and thoughtful, however that certainly won't stop him from speaking his mind if the moment calls for his opinion.
Likes: Bio-luminescent animals, star-gazing, protecting those who are near and dear to him, making others smile, and the flavor watermelon.
Dislikes: The flavor grape, watching his friends and family suffer, and not being able to see the stars at night.
Background: (2500)
Perhaps given the circumstances, he was immensely lucky, though it didn't feel it. Time and time again, destruction was narrowly avoided. But everything came to an end. Nothing could last forever. The stars were created and in a beautiful and dazzling array of lights, they exploded in an incinerating death, and more stars were born. Energy and matter was only borrowed.

Life gave new meaning to the galaxy. Everything had order, everything had it's place, and just as everything fell into place, it all had to end. Just as one comes to the realization that life cannot last forever and that true meaning is found right before death can one embrace the beauty of life. This galaxy, a glorious midnight rose, was wilting. As the stars and the central sun died, so did the life around it. The star gave out one last burst of light, like ecstasy; and caved in on its self.

From the din came another bloom, as a flower blooms, dies, and releases seeds, so did this galaxy. This black abyss gave birth as everything condensed. The light that shone so brilliantly had faded into a little ember in the sky.
-------------
Some time, several centuries, or some amount of time, that seed began to germinate. The dust of star remnants fed the new life, and sparked growth. But by now, the little splotch in the sky had grown so much closer and by now encircled the planet of a neighboring galaxy. This planet was new, far to young to have any true life, but there was always hope. After all, a forest could re-grow from the ashes of its kin.

The lost soul of the collapsed abyss collapsed into the ground in a great ball of fire, something that sparked terror and wonder among the creatures inhabiting the barren planet. This new planet had some... substance, nothing like what had been seen before. It was easily moved and seemed to cling to surfaces, then drop off in little clumps. It wasn't hard, but it wasn't soft. It was as though there was nothing there to support your weight, but it was there. It left stains on your body, but they went away when out in the heat. And it was... wet.

The seed uncurled, something like a fiddle-head. First the blackened grey fur sprouted and stuck out, then a tail that moved delicately as though one false move might break the tail in two. Next there bloomed a face. A long snout, resembling something like a canine creature. The being was coated in something like fur and the deep cuts in his side oozed a grand light that filled the air with the presence of tranquility. The fox stood, touring over the ground with eyes like voids.

The glassy water reflected back to the fox his reflection. The condensed galaxy. He felt the pull towards the heavens, felt his need, no, desire to fly free, to drift about without a care. From the ashes of the implosion there bloomed a new life, a reincarnation of harmony.

The reflection bade only one thing: loss. A loss of place, a loss of tranquility, a loss of purpose. From the resolve to find meaning and protect this little planet from his own fate, he sealed his eyes, the lids still glowing faintly. Sitting back on his haunches, his tails coiled about his feet. He was a hollow shell of his former glory, a Void, and Abyss... He was Voided Abyss, the lost soul.
-------
He watched the makings of life, the transitions on the planet and guided along this planet, prolonging it's limited life. Abyss watched asteroids plummet into the surface. He even examined the remnants of such a meteor which flew off and began to encircle the planet. This was called a Lune. Or Lunar. It seemed fitting. Lune. The great sphere in the sky. It's flawless white, but pocked surface was like a mirror into his inner being. He seemed perfect, beautiful on the outside, but oh how he was jaded within. The animals here knew that, thus why he was avoided. It was unnatural for a heavenly body to walk the planet. Some called him Lune.

The Astral Fox walked the lines between his spacial world and the real world. He examined a species similar to his own unknown form, and decided to linger around for further investigations. They called him Lune, only until he gave them the name Abyss. He was called a god, hailed. Glorified. The adoration filled the hollow heart of the fox, giving him a place in the world.

Never before had the fox seen such displays of affection towards another being. Though it wouldn't last, as no joyous thing would last, nothing could remain forever. Voided Abyss lingered about, learning the ways of the clan, teaching what he knew. They called him the wandering spirit and agreed that after death, their spirits would follow him until they found their final resting place. Now, some might let this go to their head, the whole idea of being a god, and Abyss was no exception. He began to believe he was a god, believe that he made a difference, believe that he harbored intense power, which was true for the most part. He just let the clan take him in and do as they pleased, he just pointed them in favorable directions. For example, he might choose one myth over another about who he was, truth was, he didn't know who he was, and the stories gave him meaning, they made him feel... alive.

Nothing could last, nothing... He'd promised himself. The clan had sucked him in, he believe himself to be one of them. This lasted only so long as the pack allowed. He became a little too curious for his own good one day, digging too deep into matters while the pack slept. He'd fallen for one of the females, fallen hard for her. She'd been one of the few to remain wary of him, to remain out of the way, to always call him Lune, and he'd needed to know more. Surely she'd not run away, why would she? He was a god. His thinking was flawed. As Abyss approached the female in her sleep and woken her, the following events occurred so rapidly that no one could have really done anything. No one was at fault and it shouldn't have happened as it did...

She woke with a start, growling as she normally might, but as the silvery female looked up, the sight of Abyss gave her such a shock that she snapped at him. Abyss growled back, snapping in reply. The surprise of an attack caught the two off and only when the silver fox took off for the forest did trouble begin. Abyss followed her, his hunt instinct triggered. He trailed her mercilessly. Once she stopped, he landed hard on her, his full bulk landing her hard in the ground. His eyes were blind with the need to hunt as his teeth narrowed on her hackles.

She laid still, too frightened to move, her heart racing a mile a minute. Only when everything slowed and both could process what happened did Abyss panic. His tails curled between his legs while he backed away into the dark, his glow being the only thing to betray his hiding place. No words expressed his deep shame, his stabbing fear of what he;d become, a monster, and he hated it.

The female made it back to the pack, however Abyss never returned, too distraught over what he'd become. How could one be so foolish as to allow their selves to be corrupted so completely by curiosity and the need to belong? How could he allow his head to be filled with lies and misconceptions?

Where did you draw the line between belonging... and conforming?

With a resolve to never again love, to never allow emotion to become so... consuming, Abyss vanished off the face of the planet. It was called the days of Black sky, where the Lune never showed. Such a phenomenon couldn't be explained. No one could explain the lack of the moon for thirty nights and days. His selfish sulking made his planet suffer, something he;d never wanted to see. It was a mess, and it was all his own fault... The fox returned, remaining in hiding and emptying his being of those emotions.... But they wouldn't leave... The galaxy felt love, hate, fear... all the good, all the bad.
------
Years upon years went by without a sound from him except from the occasional sighting, but it was as though he'd died or fallen off the planet. More sightings were occurring, this was as good a sign as any, though for what, no one knew.

That silver she-fox had died many generations before, her children's childen had passed on, and generations later, Abyss felt the guilt of his narcissism and faced his thorns with a file. He'd take one of her children under him to care for. Any one. He'd love them, give them a home, care for them...

As he'd know, years would pass without a fitting child. They were all so loved, and all had homes, but one day he'd make her proud... he'd show her that he'd never meant harm and he'd care for her kin as he'd so longed to care for her. Perhaps, where ever it was that he'd go when he truly died, she'd be waiting, his first love...

The rose, his silver rose had bloomed, and now he had to go and find the rose and allow the glorious moon flower to bestow its gift of life upon him, to allow him to bask in the warmth of love again. He'd guard the child forever, call her his own and raise her to the light.

He'd nurture his silver rose and allow her to flourish.

Years upon years would go by without a child to bestow his promise upon, but one day, one day he'd find that child to care for, to raise from din. Until that day he had to keep to his resolve to protect this little planet.

He is a wandering spirit. He is Lune.
He is Voided Abyss.
