His favourite thing to eat and why:

Monty has always had an unusual palate. He has always enjoyed the spicy taste of onion grass that grows wild on gully banks, and the sweetness of honeysucklethat blankets the swamps and marshes, and the tartness of blackberries(or dewberries) taken from their sparse, prickly bushes. But he never liked the way onion grass left a funny after taste in his mouth, or that blackberry seeds stuck uncomfortably in his teeth, or how honeysuckle only bloomed in spring and early summer. So he found something new, something that could be found year round in the swamplands and bayous of his Louisiana home: bait.

Any type would do: worms, fish, cat food, grain. Anything. It was all too fun to watch fishermen scramble for their lines as he took their tiny offering to the river fish. Oh, their funny, human faces as the line snapped when they tried to reel him in. Sometimes they might even catch a glimpse of the gargantuan red and white mottled 'fish' they could have caught through the murky, muddied waters. It was oh so fun to trip the traps meant for smaller creatures and steal the prize inside. And it was amusing to lurk in wait for the people to come back, only to find their raccoon trap empty and the bait gone. Oh, the crawfish traps, how yummy those can be when filled with chunks of fish and crunchy crawdads. Monty especially loves it when the humans, strange, hairless creatures that they are, turn nearly as red as his coat and sputter like a drowning cat. It amuses him deeply, especially when he goes back for a second time and catches a replay.

His favorite thing to eat and why:
He loves to eat anything red. He used to drink blood but then he got banned from a Kelpies pack when he got caught one night. When he was banned from that territory he decided if he was ever to be accepted by another Kelpie pack or Kelpie at all he was going to have to stop biting people. So what was his new yummy snack? Anything red. Strawberries is a delicacy he likes. They taste sweet and look like blood. Black berries is also one.

PINEAPPLES~
because i'm eating some right now. Valid arguement.
Sny loves to eat pineapples because they are so sweet yet sour, a rare find in the marshy world. To him, it's a wonderful sensation of yellowy fruit, with the plesant mix of the bold sweetness and the vivid sour.

His favourite thing to eat and why: As shocking and paradox as it may sound, Vlad's favorite food is garlic. Of course not the usual kind that we use for cooking, but in the bayous there are wild forms of it. You might wonder how the hell a "vampire" like him can like garlic. Well, of course he's not an actual vampire, so even if the fact was true that garlic freaks vampires off (and nobody has ever proven that, aye? ^^), it wouldn't account for him. However, Vlad doesn't let this argument count. Because he himself believes that he is in fact a vampire. Just not a normal, blood-sipping one, no, a cool one instead.

As a foal, most Kelpies acted strange about him. Some were scared, others made fun of him, and some were just incredibly fascinated. Basically just like we humans: Some of us are horribly scared of vampires, others think they are complete nonsense and then there's people who aren't scared of them but somehow...well, drawn to them. He himself was somewhat unable to cope with that all. It unsettled him, his parents had always told him he was most certainly not a vampire, though everybody acted like he was. And he looked like one, and he liked bats, and he had a vampire-like name. Very often, Vlad didn't know it himself what he was, who he was. There were times when he thought that he was really a vampire. Then again he thought that he was nothing but a normal Kelpie.

It was during one of those periods when he thought he wasn't a vampire when he had this idea. Another foal had yelled "Oh god the vampire, someone have some garlic?!" when he walked by. Thinking about those words, he wandered through the bayou when he actually strumbled across a patch of wild growing garlic. He bent his neck, looking at the plant, then he dug it up with his hoof. Sniffing on it, he realized that it smelled completely neutral, and so far it didn't make him feel any awkward. It seemed to be nothing but a strange looking little plant. Should he...? If he tried he would at least know whether he was a vampire or not. And what could happen? Okay, it could kill him if he was, despite his current assumption, in fact a vampire. But he pushed that thought into the darkest corner of his brain, right where his self-confidence was cowering. Yes. He decided to give it a try and, gnawing on the garlic carefully, he realized that it didn't freak him off, it didn't harm him, it didn't kill him, not even a bit. In fact, what he tasted was completely amazing.

But did it actually mean he finally knew what he was? He still felt somewhat unsatisfied inside. Looking at a puddle next to him he saw his reflection, the reflection of a Kelpie with fangs, bloodsplash-like markings, red eyes, that loved bats...and...garlic. He saw a vampire gnawing on garlic. And that was the moment when it clicked in his head, when he knew what he was, who he was:
He was a vampire. But a vampire with style. Vlad, the vampire.

I don't know what time zone randomzness lives in and whether she will judge it by CS time or her own time zone. Since it's still the 31st in some parts of the world I thought I should give it a try.

@ randomzness: Okay, I fully understand, and thank you for being so nice about it. :)
Just one question - would it be okay if I use the concept of my story to create a character of my own? Of course not a Kelpie or a similar creature, it would probably end up being not even an equine. I was just wondering cause I spent like 1 hour+ on the story and would love to use it somehow instead of laying it to waste. ^^
