Username:Name:Gender:Short Personality:Syphii is kind and gentle, loving and helpful. She's a real softy, too. She's cheerful, and bubbly, and playful. Syphii is social and is able to make friends with anyone. However, she dislikes hanging around, or even speaking to those depressing other Kiamaras although she would like to turn their frown upside down. Syph is brave, as in daring-brave, but not brave in talk-to-the-depressed-brave. She's not very good at handling those who are down. Her straightforwardness is a bad point of hers, although others may think of her remarks as a 'joke' when it isn't, which is a good thing for her. She believes in magic and wonderful lands of cotton candy and cupcakes as well, and tries her best to defend her beliefs from nasty realists.
Story/poem/art/etc:Story:
Before Syphii ever had any contact with a depressed Kiamara [she was always surrounded with happy, bubbly Kiamaras], she used to believe she could make everyone in this world happy. She would host little fun parties and tell random jokes to others to fill their lives with joy. It was one day, when she realised not everyone could be healed by her cheerfulness.
Syphii, today again, was surrounded by happy chatty Kiamaras. She was laughing with them, telling jokes and playing around.
"One day, I'll find Candyland!" she announced, serious, suddenly.
Her friends laughed at her. "You're silly, Syph," one said. "Everyone knows Candyland's nothing but an imaginary land."
Syphii widened her eyes. "How could you say that? The Candy God will be angry."
"Stop joking around, Syph," they said, then talked to one another. Syphii huffed angrily and walked from the group.
She kicked up some pebbles in frustration, then did a bad imitation of one of her friends.
"Candyland's nothing but an imaginary land," she recited with a mocking tone. Then with a growl, she added, "I'll show them it's real!"
Now this, was where she met her first depressed Kiamara.
"Hello?" she said, unsure. Syphii crept closer to the other Kiamara.
"Ah, it's you, that bubbly pink Kiamara," it growled. Syph whimpered and stepped back once. The Kiamara dropped it's growl and sighed.
"Say," Syph began, feeling braver, "do you believe in Candyland?"
The Kiamara chuckled. "I was once like you, naive and gullible, believing everything I heard. Even Candyland."
Syph's eyes widened. "So you do believe in it?"
"Did, the Kiamara corrected. "I did."
"Why did?" Syph asked, then watched as the Kiamara narrowed it's eyes.
"You talk too much," it growled. "Go away."
Syph shook her head, wanting to talk more to this Candyland-used-to believer. Suddenly, the Kiamara lashed out at her. Syph quickly dodged, but was cut. She was shocked- no one had ever attacked her.
"W-wait! What're you-" she was cut short by the Kiamara who lunged at her again. Syph, finally got the message and ran.
"Maybe not everyone," she whimpered, turning to look at the angry Kiamara while running. "Upset Kiamaras are scary."

Chassity loves the water so she also likes swimnming and is very good at it for a creature with fur. Chassity is also a dreamer with a short attention span. All together Chassity is very sweet and loving and a great friend to have when you need someone to laugh with.
Story/poem/art/etc: (I know you said short story, but this may get a little long
It's a story about a boy named Chandler)
Let me just start by saying that even before I was dumped in a giant maze I was having a rotten day. I woke up on the floor feeling like I hadn’t slept a wink which was probably right considering my parents had just bought home my new baby sister and she spent most of her time screaming. We feed her, she cries. We put her to bed, she cries, some guy shows up at our door offering us a good deal on used cars, she cries. Sure I was excited and all, but I could seriously use some sleep, especially if I knew what I was in for today. It was quite pleasant just sitting there, thinking about life, when I was interrupted by a voice like churning gravel calling my name “Chandler Blake, get your lazy butt down here right now, you’ll be late for school”. That was all the wake-up call I needed. My Mum could be pretty scary when she was grouchy, and my senses told me today was one of those days. I threw on some ripped blue jeans and my black leather jacket over my blue and white striped shirt, took a last glance out my window and trudged down the stairs.
The atmosphere in the kitchen was the usual. Baby Annalise sitting in her high-chair, face as red as a tomato, mouth wide open crying while she tossed bits of her breakfast across the room. Dad gulping down his third cup of coffee, blood shot eyes and in serious need of a shave. Then finally Mum, who was bustling around the kitchen cleaning up after the baby, trying to cook my breakfast and trying to keep Annalise quiet. She looked at me with tired, spiritless eyes, her mouth shaped in a frown. For a split second, I almost felt sorry for her. Then the scolding began. “Chandler” she sighed “You should have been up ages ago. Pack your bag, get some breakfast and for goodness sake won’t you do something with that tangled mess of hair!” I ran one hand half-heartedly through my scruffy bleach blonde hair. “Happy?” I questioned. Mum just glared at me “Go on, get to school!”
Now that’s pretty much where my normal day ended. I didn’t even manage to get to school. Instead I was assigned a dangerous quest which I would either complete triumphantly or perish trying, and on that happy note back to the story. So I left the house on an empty stomach, since I figured that straight after another speech about what a disappointment of a son I was, was not exactly one of the best times to ask for some bacon. The morning was dreary. Grey skies scattered with dark clouds that threatened a thunder storm. The streets were quiet and empty, with only the occasional fat grey rat showing any signs of life in this place. That is until I ran into… Him. He was a short old man with a bald head and a long snowy white beard. He wore a long brown coat and had no shoes. At first I figured he was probably homeless, until I saw his pendant. A long silver chain that hung around his neck with a small charm of a bird with a long beak and elegant wings. But the expression in the animal’s eyes looked like he was afraid of something. The old man shakily lifted his head to look at me. His eyes were black and they showed no emotion, they made me uneasy. Like bottomless holes of darkness that would swallow you hole if you looked into them too long. “Spare a moment boy?” he asked in a tone that held many years of wisdom. “Uh, I have to get to school actually” I mumbled and tried to step around him, but he moved faster than any guy of his age should be able and blocked my path “Won’t take long, just need a small favour is all” he mused. I thought maybe I should try dodging round him again, but a tugging in my gut told me that this guy was not one to be messed with. “Sure” I finally accepted “What do you want”? The old man’s eyes sparkled with a sort of wickedness, his mouth spread in a grin revealing crooked yellow teeth. “I happen to have a quest for you boy, of huge importance”. “Quest?” I said in disbelief “What is this Lord of the Rings?” I chuckled to myself. The old man glared at me “This is not to be taken lightly, only you can find the key”. An eerie chill ran down my spine, like I should be taking this seriously, but I couldn’t get my head around it. Old man shows up out of nowhere to give me some sort of quest? It all seemed like something you might read in a book. “Okay then, where can I find this key?” The man’s creepy grin returned. “It won’t be easy to locate, it is hidden in the centre of an ancient labyrinth. Find it and bring it back to me by midnight” he told me as he fiddled with his bird pendant. I let all the info sink in. Lost key, ancient labyrinth, midnight. Got it! “Great” I said “So how do I get into the labyrinth?” The old man walked back a few steps and behind him stood two huge gates with pictures of an animal on each. One had a silver unicorn, the other had a golden wolf. I stared in stunned silence at the gates for a while. Had these been here in the middle of Manhattan all this time? I turned back to where the man had stood but he was gone. I heard his creaky voice whisper through my mind “Good luck Chandler Blake” it echoed. I turned to take on last glance at the deserted streets, took a deep breath and wandered right into the dark Labyrinth.
I wasn’t quite sure where to begin. I had until midnight to reach the middle of this twisting, turning maze and locate a key. If by key, the old dude meant tiny piece of metal, what chance did I have of finding it in this giant place? I sort of took my time at the start, strolling casually over branches that had fallen from who knows where and scanning my surroundings lazily. It actually took me a while to realize that I was walking straight. Labyrinths are generally full of lots of openings and turns aren’t they, but this one just led me straight onward. I looked behind me. Same thing, no turns or corners. I broke into a run, still dodging fallen branches, but it seemed like I was getting nowhere. I stopped to catch my breath and slammed my fists against the wall in frustration. I slumped to the ground and sighed “This is hopeless”. Then a huge shadow swept over my head and disappeared again. I got to my feet and looked to the sky, nothing. “Who’s there?” I asked sounding a lot more confident than I felt. I heard a sound like beating wings behind me and I spun around as quickly as lightning. Still no-one there. My heart was probably keeping time with the speed of sound. I decided I was just imagining it and went to keep walking, when I found myself face to face with one of the biggest and most beautiful birds I had ever seen. A long glistening beak and spindly legs. His feathers were stormy grey and white and he had deep brown intelligent eyes. I stood there staring at him for a very long time. He didn’t move, as if her were waiting for me to do something. “Where did you come from?” I probably sounded really dumb talking to this bird, but he obviously wasn’t your regular pet store budgie. Of course he didn’t respond, but I figured he had probably come to help me. So I asked the first question that popped into my head. “Do you know the way through this Labyrinth?” The bird dipped his head elegantly, and then he gave his huge wings a small flap and glided not too far off the ground to one of the walls. “It’s just wall, there’s no way through” I said in a smart tone. The bird shook his head. He took a few steps forward and seemed to disappear into the bricks. I walked to where he had stood just seconds ago. Then I saw how he had done it. The walls were like were like an eye illusion, it looked like just regular rows of concrete, but really it hid tonnes of invisible openings. My new friend the bird returned to my side. “Uh, thanks” I said to him, still not entirely sure if he understood. But he just nodded, spread his huge wings and flew into the sky. The sun was up; I was running out of time. I watched the bird fly off into the light. It wasn’t until then that I realized where I had seen him before. It was the same beautiful creature that hung on the pendant around the old man’s neck.
I spent another couple of hours walking next to the wall, dragging my fingers across the bricks so I would be able to find all the hidden pathways. I kept thinking about the huge bird that had come to the Labyrinth to set me on the right track. How was he the same creature on the old guy’s bling, and why did he want to help me? I tried to keep my focus on the maze. I wished I knew how far I had come and how far was left to go. I also wanted to know what this key I was meant to find looked like. I must have walked through at least twenty hidden pathways before I found myself in the second challenge of the Labyrinth.
It didn’t look like much at first. A big dark room with metal grates for the floor. In the middle of the room, illuminated by a skylight, stood what looked like a really old, really beaten up grand piano. It was covered in dust and it was missing a key. I walked across the metal grates that creaked under my weight to approach the instrument. Now as I believe we have already established, I’m not all that bright, so the first thing I did was press down a random key. That’s how I figured out what not to do. As soon as I hit the key, it made a huge booming sound. The room shook and a section of the metal floor broke away and fell into darkness. I didn’t know how deep the hole was, but I didn’t want to find out. After a closer look I found an old piece of paper that looked like it would crumble if I picked it up. On it was a song to be played on the piano. I had learned piano a few years back, but wasn’t sure how much I would be able to remember. Hopefully, just enough. I recognized all the notes on the paper and went over it in my head a couple of times. I took a deep breath and started to play. The melody was slow and gentle, like a lullaby for a child. I got about half-way through when my nerves got the best of me and my trembling hands slipped and I hit the wrong key. More of the metal floor broke off and fell into the shadows. There was now only a small section of the floor left, the part I stood on. I couldn’t afford to make one more mistake. I took a minute to get a grip and calm myself down. I could do this; there was no way I was going to get beaten by a piano. I started again this time being extra careful. I was feeling so confident; I had this thing in the bag. That is until I got to the very last note I had to play. I knew what it was. I definitely knew how to play it, but the only problem was, the key was missing. Just my luck that the one missing key was the one I had to use. I wondered if I could find it somewhere, or if I could use something else to substitute for a key. But I didn’t have anything of that size or shape. I was actually considering just jumping right into; make it easier, but at last my luck changed as I head the beating of huge wings and saw a shadow swoop over my head.
The bird came to my rescue yet again. He landed flawlessly next to me on the metal grates. “You!” I exclaimed. I never thought I would be so happy to see a bird. In his beak he held a small white object. Unmistakably, a key for a piano. I held out my hand and he dropped it into my palm. “Thanks” I said and stroked his feathers. He was so soft. Then I remembered why I was here. I spun around and walked to the piano. I reattached the missing key and pressed it down. It made a sweet sound which was followed by a low rumbling, but not the kind that broke the grates and threatened to kill me. It was the kind that split the piano right through the middle, revealing a sparkling silver platform, with a small golden key on the top. I picked it up and examined it. It didn’t look too out of the ordinary, just a little key with a ruby embedded into the handle. I turned back to the bird. “Can I ask one more favour?” I asked him. He nodded. “Great” I said. “Can you give me a lift outta here?”.
Believe me; you’ve never flown until you’ve been carried through the skies buy a huge bird. I felt totally free. Cool air danced across my face, ruffling my blonde hair. I soared higher than even the clouds could float. It was over all too soon. The bird started to descend from the sky and the ground came closer and closer. My bird set me down in front of the gates of the labyrinth. I looked up at the huge images of the unicorn and the wolf. Then the gates disappeared, leaving nothing behind. It was dark, with only the streetlights illuminating the street. Suddenly my bird did something unexpected. His feathers fluffed up and he made a sound like an angry squawk. I turned and saw what he was looking at. It was the old man that had given me the quest. He ignored the bird, his eyes locked on me. “Success?” he questioned. I nodded. My stomach felt queasy like something was wrong. I realised the man’s necklace still had a bird on it. Wasn’t my bird the same one? “Hand me the key” the man growled. The bird flapped his wings, like he was warning me. I saw desperation it his eyes, like this guy was wrong. I clenched me fist with the key inside. Then I did the weirdest thing. I threw the key to the bird, who caught it in his talons. The bird pointed the necklace at the old man whose necklace started to glow. The small silver bird broke off from the necklace and, in a huge blast of light, transformed into a real bird just like mine, only smaller.
It made sense now – the old man had sent me into the maze to get the key so he could imprison my bird too. But my bird had helped me so he could get the key and free the other bird who I figured was his baby – which meant he was a she! I looked to where the man had been but he was gone. Only the chain which the bird had hung from remained behind. I walked forward and picked it up. The metal was cold in my hands. My bird and her young one walked to me. The baby had something in his beak. They key. I took it from him and threaded the chain through it. I realised I should keep it safe for these birds. The two of them bowed to me and took off together into the night. I stuffed the key necklace into my pocket and headed for home.
It was dark and quiet by the time I got home. There was a note for me on the bench. “Chandler” it read, “I figure you must be avoiding the house again after this morning. But if you’re reading this you must be home. There are fish fingers in the microwave if you’re hungry. We are probably all asleep. Love, Mum”. I tossed the note into the bin and wandered up the hall. I crept into Mum and Dad’s room and over to Annalise’s cot. For once in her life she was quiet and peaceful. She was almost cute. I pulled the chain with the key attached from my pocket and tied it to the side of her cot. “Sleep tight baby sis” I whispered and left to get some sleep myself. It had been a long day and one I wouldn’t soon forget. As I laid on my bed, just before I drifted off to sleep, I could swear I saw the shapes of two huge birds silhouetted against the moon.
THE END
You said you have a dream...
That dream...
Make it come true!
Make your wonderful dream a reality,
and it will become your truth!!
