Hermes


I called this bean Hermes after the Greek god.
Hermes is an Olympian god in Greek religion and mythology, son of Zeus and the Pleiade Maia.

Huh? Wait, do I look like a girl..?

Hermes was a god of transitions and boundaries. He was quick and cunning, and moved freely between the worlds of the mortal and divine.

Quick
Hermes is a relatively 'quick' when it comes to running. He is a great runner, and usually runs a mile or two each week. He is surprisingly dedicated to it for such a young age. He tends to ask his parents to go out and run whenever he can and tries to convince his parents to take up running as well. He is amazingly able to keep a fabulous pace, and is able to persuade his parents to keep up with him.

Cunning
Hermes is a particularly cunning JBD. He can get anyone to do anything he wants them to do, but usually only uses this to get a glass of lemonade when he is too lazy to get up. He likes acting cute in order to get others to get him whatever he wants-- in this way he is excellent at convincing his parents to take him to running locations.

Protective
He is particularly protective of his family in friends, willing to stand up to any danger to save those whom he cares about. If somebody decided to pick on, hurt, or be mean to his friends or family, well, let's just say that it wouldn't end well.This characteristic often gets Hermes into a quite a bit of trouble-- He tries to stand up to anything and everything in order to make himself seem stronger than he really is.

Hasty
Hermes is very hasty. He tends to rush things a bit too much, resulting in him accidentally messing up things that he does. If he were baking, he'd put the heat twice as high and lower half the time. If he were working on a project, he'd rush it and get a bad grade. He likes getting things he doesn't like over with-- so he can have more fun!

Lucky
Hermes is lucky. He describes it by saying, "It's like I picked up a 16 leafed clover!". He often finds coins astray on the ground, needless to say they are usually all heads-up. He uses his luck to his advantage, for example he seems to have the money for something he needs or wants whenever he wants it. He doesn't show off his luck or brag about it, unless somebody really gets under his fur.

Cheerful
Hermes is really cheerful and bouncy most of the time. He likes it when he can get others to smile, and he wants everybody he knows to smile; too. He enjoys making people happy, which in his opinion isn't an incredibly godly deed. He just does what he likes to do, and does it often. His cheer tends to make others happy as well, it is a strange feeling that nobody has ever been able to explain.

Optimistic
Hermes is rather optimistic. Nothing can get him down or make him sad. Well, except things that he is afraid of or dislikes greatly. He tends to look on the upside of things, if you got last place in a race, he'd tell you that you at least competed, and hey, not everyone can run very fast! He is a 'glass half full' kind of guy. Literally. He points it out every time a glass is halfway drank. He will tell you the positive sides of things, as he has a great fear that he will someday dissapoint someone whom he cares about.


Food: Toast. The warm, buttery, crispy combination is irresistible to practically anyone!
Drink: Lemonade. The cool, sweet and sometimes delectably sour taste enchants him.
Dessert: Vanilla ice cream. Come on, who doesn't like it?
Season: Fall. The leaves turn a beautiful shade of red.
Color: The crisp color of red-maroon leaves during Autumn.
Holiday: Halloween. He loves dressing up and getting free candy!
Day of the week: Monday. It may be undesirable and miserable for most, but the 'new week' feeling makes him happy.


Hermes has one accessory, though it is relatively small he still cherishes it.
It is a small chain wrapped around his tail. Attached to it are two small wing-like pieces that dangle down from the chain.
Hermes always tells people it represents his passion for running whenever they ask.


Everyone has one or two fears, even the most 'daring' Jellybean dragon you've ever met.

Disappointing People
Hermes has a great fear of disappointing people. He fears that if he does not fulfill his duties, he will lose friends and anger people. He strives to do his best and follow instructions to the nose because of this. Hermes hates the feeling of bitter disappointment, and would not want anyone else to feel the same way.

Deserts
Weird, right? Well, he has a reason for this. He snook out of bed one night and turned on the television, flipping to the documentary channel. Hermes watched a show about deserts, how hot they were, the cacti, the predators, and the cold nights. He decided this was an environment he never wanted to live in. As he learned more and more, this dislike grew into a cold fear in his stomach.


Hermes is not exactly 'blind', but his vision is faltered. He cannot see things that are far away very well, but refuses to wear contacts or glasses of any kind out of fear that other beans will pick on him. Luckily, he has been able to hide this quite well. Anything that is 25 feet or farther away from him appears extremely blurry. In other words, he is nearsighted.


Hermes sighed and padded at the water's edge. He was staring into the sea as he watched, his parents had taken him to the beach and he was exploring. He hadn't experienced anything exciting in weeks, as he had been to young to leave his parents' pouch at the time. As he walked, lost in thought, the sun beamed on something. It glared directly at his eyes, making him growl in annoyance. He walked over to the object and pulled it out of the sand. A metal chain with two glistening wings. It shimmered in the sunlight. It was far too small to fit around his neck, but he was sure he wanted to keep it. Hermes brought his tail in front of him and placed the chain around it. He loved the fit. He loved the glistening wings. He loved everything about it. Hermes decided that the object was meant specifically for him to discover.


Everything about this little bundle of joy is amazing. The splotches on his sides are simply beautiful and stunning, and that spiraling mark on near the little guy's eye is enchanting. The colors clash so well together in a way that I would never imagine-- Making him all the more adorable. The brown of his coat seems to make the blue and yellow pop out in a 3-D kind of way. Not to mention his eyes, his adorable eyes of which remind me of a cool glass of lemonade on a summer's eve. From ears to tail tip, this little ball of fur is amazing.
