Name:

Dosne

Means 'sand hill' in Celtic!

Gender:

Female

Species:

Fennec fox

Kennel Number:
3
Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:

I love fennec foxes, and this one is special, She looks lovely and a design I could never have ever imagined. I think she'll be awesome in my character page and my website and maybe she will even be a fursona; I love her love her love her. Simple. There.
Also her facial expression is so nice. She's angry, yes, and fierce, but it looks like she's hoping for something to me. And the angled way of drawing makes her extremely unique and special, just the kind I have wanted! I will use her in my character thread, sig if I can get a smaller version, and in my new website I'm trying to make ^^ I have currently two fav characters: the ones in my sig, Bianca and Nimara. Diosa will look amazing with them, all three together; the ultimate canidae trio xD

Personality:

Before the terribly tragic day. . .well, she was a beautiful young fox cub. She was whacky, funny, and lively and enjoyed hte companionship of her dear siblings. Her favorite word was; "Mine!" well, she was very, very cute. As a baby she was named Dosne, after the billowing sand hills. She admired the zephyr and the sand, for they were of one color, but still beautiful and mysterious, and free. She wanted to be like them: fast, free, and important.
She was not ambitious, though. She enjoyed life as it was already, and well, she was a CUB. She didn't think really that much about philosophy or life, only about when there will be the next lizard or how to trick her poor sister, Dimmie.
During those times, her traits were:

Humor:

Hahahaha, you can't stand five seconds without bursting out laughing. Her jokes may be one-dimensional and childish, but her sincerity in saying them is so cute, you can't bear to not laugh. When you do, though, she huffs as if her dignity is hurt--and then, she gives in and giggles along with you. Even when you have long since stopped, she will roll on the floor, yelling and chuckling and choking on her own breath, until she's tired out and falls into a sweet nap.

Honesty:

Surprisingly, she can't lie. She once stole lizard meat from her parents while they had gone hunting, and then, when they were back, she burst out crying and apologizing right away. Her parents were startled, but glad that she was such an honest little baby. Obviously, they forgave her. . .and Dosne never ever did anything wrong again.

Pranky:

Her victim is always her slightly older sister, Dimmie; she's a really calm and quiet fox, even for an adult! However Dosne never got sick of Dimmie rejecting her jokes, and continued to annoy her; putting random bugs in her nest, screaming during the middle of the night, pretending to fall into a pool of quick-sand[are they in the desert? o3o]. . .eventually Dimmie fell for it, and Dosne was laughing so hard, that even Dimmie began to enjoy it! Her laughter is seriously contagious!

However, sadly, this didn't last forever. A sandstorm had killed the rest of the family, including Dimmie, and Dosne was left alone, lonely in the desert. This shocked her and changed her a lot, that she was barely recognizable as a lively pup. Now, in general she is gloomy, mysterious, and terribly sad; it's a wonder how she continues to live on, according to her muddled up feelings and pains.

Solitude:

She is always found alone. Company of others remind her so much of her family, especially Dimmie, and she can't bear to 'betray' them and move on to having other friends. She believes solitude is what she deserves, and when she sees another fennec fox, she gazes at them with eyes full of sadness before moving on.

Temper:

But, when that fox ventures up to her, even in a friendly, frivolous way, her temper flares. How dare they interrupt her solitude and mourning! She snaps and snarls at them, her eyes starting to blaze like a forest fire, unquenchable. The best choice is to run away to safety, before she charges with all the power she has.

History:

Dosne.
A beautiful name, for a beautiful fox like her; curling, heart like bright markings entranced her, giving her a lovely, yet mystical look. She grinned, her white teeth glowing like precious gems.
"Dimmie," she called.
Another fox, which was less beautiful than the first, but just as charming, wagged her tail in response. "I'm coming, Dosne. Don't worry."
"Worry? Why'd I worry?" replied Dosne, sounding rather indifferent. "Just be quiet and come over here."Dimmie grinned at her funny sister, and padded over in exaggerated slow motion to annoy the chubby little cub even more. Dosne was puffing and glaring by the time Dimmie arrived.
"So, what should we do?"
"Play. call Torb."Torb was the sisters' brother, though a bit too old for games, and pretended to be mature. He was no fun at times, but now was an exceptionally cool day; so why not call him?
"Fine. Torb!" yelled Dosne in her high-pitched voice. "Let's plaaaaaaaay!"
The adolescent just yawned from the distance, flicking his tail in indifference. "Play your own games, little sister."
"Fine, then. Don't be jealous about our awesome games!" she retorted hotly, her tail swishing back and forth.
She turned to Dimmie, her expression replaced by a ridiculously enormous grin. "So, what now?"
"Let's play catch. It's always fun."
"Sure. On the count of ten, you run. One. . .two. . ."
Then Dosne bolted.
"HEY!" Dimmie yipped. "Unfair!" "Life IS unfair. Deal with it!"The sisters tumbled in the sand, laughing and giggling and covering themselves in dusty sand. By the time they fell apart they were panting in exhaustion, but their eyes were shining brightly and zealously, ready for another play-fight if only they weren't so tired.

___________________

Dosne yawned, revealing her salmon pink tongue. She flopped on her back, revealing her soft underbelly. Dimmie walked up and tickled it, and Dosne curled up, giggling too.
The sisters stared at other with loving family-eyes, before both going to sleep peacefully in their cool den, curled up against each other with a slight smile on their lips.

___________________

Days.
Weeks.
They passed on as fast as zephyrs, and the foxes grew.
Torb was a fully grown adult, and said he would leave to 'Find his own life'.
Dimmie had grown into a slender, graceful young fox, with chocolate brown fur and dark, twinkling eyes.
Dosne, finally, had a much lighter, sandy coat, but what was most special was that she had markings; like entwining vines, green and blue, al over her left haunch and front legs, and some around her eyes. Her eyes themselves were piercing aqua blue.
Their personalities hadn't changed much; Dimmie and Dosne were still best friends and loving sisters.
The day Torb had said he would leave, the family was stunned, but not to much--they knew that one day, this day would come. Their parents cried and hugged him tight, telling him to take care, be safe, and one day return happily. Torb promised he will, his eyes softening a bit.
Dimmie and Dosne whispered among themselves, purposefully annoying thier brother by giving loud hints suh as 'stupid' 'weirdo'. They giggled when Torb glared at them, and sprinted away.
"Can't catch me!" Dosne yellled.
Dimmie grinned, and followed Dosne around in circled around Torb. For once Torb smiled, too, and joined in the game, for he might not be seeing his younger sisters for a long, long time. . .
Soon the three were lying on the sand, panting heavily, their chests heaving.
"Well, THAT was fun," announced Dosne, flicking her bushy, yet elegant tail.
"It was," Dimmie agreed. "If only we weren't so tired, we'd do it again, right?"
Dosne nodded. She was about to drift off to a sweet nap after saying a final goodbye to Torb, but as she was about to, her parents screamed.

_____________________

"What is it?" Dosne yelled, feeling her fur prick up in cold nervousness.
But she diddn't have to be told.
In the distance, a layer of foggy, creepy and dusty storm was billowing fast, sweeping through the ntire desert and breaking everything, killing everything, in its violent way.
"A sand storm. . ."
Dosne was parlyzed to her spot, and she gazed at it in horror. But then, she saw her den. Safety. She dashed into it, and expected the rest of her family to come.
They didn't.
"Come in!" she shrieked, poking her head out; but it was too late. Her parents were already swept into the sand, and Torb, too. Dimmie was left staring at Dosne. She shook her head and murmured, "Goodbye."Then she was gone. Forever. . .
"Noooooooooo!" cried Dosne. She was tearful, and sobbing. "Noo.. ...."She was safe from the storm. When it was gone, she was safe and sound, but was very, very shocked and mentally hurt. It could never, or seemed as if never, be repaired ever again.

WIP~

a poem about her.

The zephyr blows,
free and strong,
Breezing past
The lonely one

Her fur is sleek,
Her eyes twinkle,
With mysterious light
But with blight

Her eyes brood sad
Lonely and dark,
Far beyond reach
Of mortal light
Other:
Second try~ I'd love to make her my fursona ^^

Love makes you a liar.
Despite everything, I think that is true. Love blinded me. Love corrupted me. And in the end, love strangled the happiness in my life like a weed strangles a flower. I'm bound so tightly I can scarce bear to move. Just thinking about what I lost brings me such great pain I can hardly keep breathing. When I was younger, I didn't think. I was stupid, I was reckless, I was blind. I was a liar. I laughed my way out of uncomfortable situations, refusing to see the truth, refusing to even feel the truth in myself. I would give anything to go back to that time, To spend another moment next to her side. Now that I look back, I can see for myself how much my words and actions must have hurt her, how I treated her like a friend when she tried so desperately to be more. She gave everything to me, her heart, her love, her secrets, her trust, and I took them all with a smile and a joke. I toyed with them, used them, but gave her nothing in return, and when the time came, I threw them back at her hooves, broken and dying.

I think I did see that she loved me more than a friend should, but I closed my eyes to it. It was too difficult. I loved her like a sister, and I was young. I didn't understand love. I didn't want to give myself to someone. I preferred to flirt, and play and then move on. She deserved better, but I didn't turn her away. Not until the end. I let her stay, let her fawn over me and worship me and do everything for me. I used her, I think. Maybe it didn't seem like that at the time, I probably convinced myself that I couldn't bear to lose her. Another lie. All it would have taken was a word, a hurtful word, yes, a word that would have cracked her already fragile heart, but a word that would have saved her years of torment and pain beside me. She would have got over me, I think, if I'd refused her earlier. But instead I let her nurture her feelings until they overcame her, and then, when she finally threw caution to the wind and asked me, I refused her. With a smile and a joke.

A smile that stuck a knife in her chest.
And a joke that twisted the blade.
I broke her. And then I left her.
I will never forgive myself for that.

Never.

Love makes you a killer.

Pretzel
"Pret! Pret? Pretzel!"
Pretzel gave a start, jerking upright. She'd been dozing, and had failed to hear Aishe bombing across the field. Slightly disorientated, the filly stifled a yawn and cast a glance across the field. Aishe was going the same on the opposite side, her head high as she searched for her friend. Pretzel had taken shelter from the mid-day sun in the shade of a copse that dominated one corner of the paddock. The sunlight streaming through the leaves cast shadowy pattens on Pretzel's skewbald coat as she wound her way through past the skinny trunks of the young trees as she made her way back out into the sun. Although it was still bright, the glare no longer hurt her eyes, so she picked up her face to a trot and headed over towards her friend. "Aishe, I'm here. Sorry, I--"
"You were asleep again, weren't you?" Aishe's voice was stern, but the amused glint in her eye gave her away. Even so, Pretzel still looked embarrassed, scraping at the grass with one roof as she replied, "Only dozing. You disappeared, and I was bored on my own. Besides, the sun was making my head hurt."
At that, Aishe gave her a confused look, "Pret, it's been cloudy all day. There's barely any sun." Pretzel looked up, squinting. The sun was low in the sky, but she could still feel it burning her skin. She hesitated before she said, "Yeah, I know. I was... only joking."
"Right." Aishe laughed, a high, tinkling sound that made Pretzel smile automatically. "Well anyway, you have to come with me. You will not guess where I've been!"
"Where have you been?" Pretzel attempted an annoyed expression and failed; she found it impossible to be upset with Aishe.
Aishe's smile broadened and she pranced around Pretzel with a giggle, "Come see," The champagne dun filly span on her back hooves and cantered back the way she'd came without waiting to see if Pretzel was following. She didn't have to. Pretzel always followed.

Aishe led Pretzel through a maze of paddocks with a strange eagerness. All the gates were open, but sometimes she didn't bother to go through them and simply leapt the wooden fence instead. Pretzel followed her without question, but the further they travelled, the more confused she became. Other horses were grazing in the fields they passed through, and in one Pretzel saw her mother in a group of pregnant mares. When she made a beeline towards her, Aishe cut her off with a glare. "What are you doing? Come on, you can talk to her later!" Pretzel looked longingly at her mother, but didn't offer up any argument, and after a second Aishe set off again, her friend at her heels. This time, they cantered for only a couple of minutes before Aishe skidded to a sudden halt before the next fence. Pretzel only just avoided smashing into her rump. "What? What is it? What's wrong? Are you okay--"
"Oh shush, Pret. Just look. Look at them!" She sighed, an exaggerated action that shook her whole body. Pretzel followed her gaze apprehensively. And stared. On the other side of the fence, three horses - colts - stood watching them, bemusement on their faces. Pretzel took a step back, glancing around at Aishe. She had an awed expression on her face, one that Pretzel had never seen on her before. Her stomach rolled, and she lowered her gaze. "We shouldn't be here, Ai. Let's go."
"What?" Aishe shook herself from her daze long enough to give Pretzel an incredulous look, "You can't be serious! I thought you'd like them. You haven't even spoken to them yet; they're great!"
Pretzel recoiled with a horrified gasp, "You've spoken to them? Aishe!"

One of the colts - a tall, lean dapple grey with cruel eyes - chuckled at my words. "Yeah, Aishe, you should run along with your friend. We might eat you or something."
Aishe tutted at him and rolled her eyes, "Don't be stupid, Kez. She'll warm up to you. She's just scared." She shot Pretzel a sideways glance, "Aren't you?" She gave the three colts a radiant smile and edged her way towards them. She'd never looked at anyone like that before. Not even--
Pretzel turned away quickly, before Aishe and her new friends could see the expression on her face. "I-I have to go. Someone's calling me." She couldn't stay here and listen to Aishe laughing and joking with someone else. Aishe was supposed to be her best friend. But here she was just a pathetic, stupid little baby. "I'll... see you later."
Without waiting for a response, the filly raced away at a wild gallop. She didn't look back. She didn't want to see the laughter on their faces.
She's just scared... of what?

Aishe
The filly scrambled after Pretzel, calling her name. When she didn't slow, or turn around, or acknowledge her friend in any way, Aishe ground to a halt. She watching, frowning, as

Name:
Nikolas
{{His name is just his name. It has no meaning or anything special behind it, he was presented with it and happily accepted it. He appreciates when you call him Nik, also.

Gender:
Male {♂}

Species:
Great Dane

Kennel Number:
Kennel Number Forty-Seven {47}

Age:
3 years, which calculates to 24 in "human years".

Orientation:
He has no clue yet.

Birth Date:
July Sixth.

Theme Songs:
Nikolas has more than one theme song, with good reason.
Live to Rise
Flawed Design
{{A note about Flawed Design; Almost all of the videos and lyric videos of Flawed Design on Youtube have been removed due to copyright issues.

Accessories/Other:
While his design may be beautiful on its own, I think that he should have a small accessory, to be a bit more unique in himself.
Nikolas wears a collar that says "HERO" on it. He considers himself to be a hero, a savior, and wants to show that off.
Image

Image
Personality:
I want to be the hero. The one they look up to. The leader. The savior...

Nikolas has a very set decision on the way he wants to live his life. He has always dreamed of being a 'hero', the comic book sort, like Iron Man or Captain America. His love of Marvel Comics and his many decisions in life have revolved around this adoration of heroes and adventures, of saving the world one time after another. Nik has tried desperately to be that hero. He has pushed himself to deliver justice where it is needed, and to keep his town 'safe'. Nikolas wanders the streets looking for crime and people in peril, trying to help them if he can, and if he can't finding help for them. He can be kind, audacious when it comes to danger, and very patient with others. He can, at times, appear like the perfect neighborhood hero.
Nikolas is anything but that.
In all these attempts to be heroic and loved, Nik has messed up, very badly. He's made more enemies than friends, and rather, where he lives, others look at him fearfully rather than thankfully. Nikolas tries to play the hero, but he has issues with his anger and gets upset easily. He lies a lot, to seem better than he really is, something he's been doing for a long time, ever since he got a hold of the first few comic books. Nik tries to be trustworthy and honest, but he blurts things out, even without meaning to, and people refuse to tell him anything anymore. He can be fidgety and has a hard time standing still when he has nothing to do, and is only really patient with other people. If he's not attempting to "save someone's life", he's moving about trying to find something to occupy his time, as that's the only thing he thinks he knows how to do.
All in all, Nikolas is a lie inside and out, no matter what he thinks he is. He fibs, to seem better than he really is, he will do whatever to be the hero, and yet even when he is the hero, he still does wrong. He gets mad with people quickly, and is only sometimes patient with them. And if he fails, he throws a tantrum. He is imperfect, in all aspects.

Name:
Gayle
{{Like Nik, Gayle is just his name. It has no meaning or purpose. Gayle doesn't have any nicknames, and he likes it that way. It's just as easy to call him Gayle as to call him by a nickname.

Gender:
Male {♂}

Species:
Great Dane

Kennel Number:
Kennel Number Fifty-Five {55}

Age:
3 1/2 years old, calculating to around 29 'human' years of age

Orientation:
Gayle thinks he is straight, but in truth he has no preference, and is rather pansexual.

Birth Date:Gayle was born in early March, although the exact date is unknown.

Theme Songs:
I'm Alive

Accessories/Other:
Gayle does not wear any accessories, but he does have a slight limp, from an incident when he was very young.

Image
Personality:
Nobody's perfect. Nobody has to be.

Gayle has a very mellow and easy going personality. He knows who he is, and he's good with it. In a way, he has given up on being anything better or worse than himself, and anyway, there isn't anything better than himself, is there? Gayle isn't special, he's not extraordinary, he's not got any super traits that make him above anyone else, and that's all he needs to be and wants to be. Just him. Gayle has always been this calm and agreeable dog. He's never had a reason to fight others, and he doesn't like when they fight or harm one another. Gayle will only really start a conversation if trying to protect someone. If confronted, he merely tries to talk his way out of it, and can be seen as quite the chatterbox due to this trait.Who cares what others see him as though? Gayle certainly doesn't and never really did. He is who he is, and he won't change for them.
When it comes to people he cares about, Gayle becomes slightly different. His calm atmosphere has an air of courage and almost tension, and if they need anything, he does his best to handle it. The fact that he doesn't mind being judged by others makes it easy for him. If they need cheering up, Gayle will perform some wild trick in attempt to help them. If they don't believe in themselves, he tells them why they need to. Gayle just wants them to be happier. Only problem is, Gayle doesn't exactly care for that many. He has lots of acquaintances, but his one childhood sweetheart moved away when he was almost ready to ask her about loving her. After that, Gayle closed up, in a way, hiding behind his warm smile and gentle exterior.

Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:

I'll admit that I've probably always had an eye out for Nikolas, and a few other characters like him. Whenever I browsed through the kennels I would always pause, even momentarily, and just take a look at him, considering going for him. But I never had the muse or the willingness or bravery, or any of that stuff. Now I have that. The relative likeness of the colors that form his design work perfectly with each other. I have a knack for manageable designs such as this one, and in that way this design really calls my attention.
I kind of sort of believe in something like "perfect pairs". That's what I thought for Rataxes and Bailey, another pair I tried out for here at SLAP. These two are that sort of perfect pair. I love Gayle, as much as I love Nikolas. He's not as simple, and he's got such a nice design to him. My own dog is brindle, and I have a passion for it. I've had an eye for Gayle about as much as I've had an eye for Nikolas. But as with Nik, I never had that muse I needed. And now here it is, waiting for me to seize that chance. I'm surprised this character hasn't been adopted yet, but I'm glad that I get to have a chance to go for him. <3

It was originally only going to be Nikolas. But then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
As I was planning out Nik's story, I found it hard to work out without there being a partner involved. It just didn't move right or flow how I wanted it to, in the practice writing. I had to find a new story or someone else to try for. Then, I remember Gayle. I've always admired both their designs, and Gayle was the same species as Nikolas. That's what I needed and what I wanted. The idea itself unfolded from there, and I can't believe how much it makes me love these two. I'd love a chance to treat them well, together, and the chance to show them love. I wish to add them to my character website, which while it is still a WIP, will be finished when I have time. I will definitely order art of both of them, and if things go right, will add to their story as much as possible.

History:
"Stop it, stop it. I was trying to help!"
The Dane raced away from his tormentors, who kept up the chase for as long as they dared. Each one snapped rude comments, insults, angry words at him, and he feared for the worst. Nikolas had made another mistake yet again, even though he had been 'trying to help'. The three who pursued him were having a little bit of trouble with the mosquitoes. Nik had figured, if he splashed water on them, the pests would go away right? That would be helpful. The insects went, but new problems came out of it. Perhaps there were better things to do.
Finally, the three dogs stopped chasing Nikolas. Cursing one at a time at him before returning to where they had come, soaking wet. Nik sighed, leaning against a tree, his thick chest heaving from the unwanted exercise. His ears were perked, listening, the insults still echoing in his head, but not a sound came. Other than the frogs from the nearby pond, of course. Lifting himself fully back on his feet again, Nik looked around. He didn't understand. What went wrong? It was almost always like this whenever he tried to help. They always got mad at him, trying to snap at him or shouting at him when he did the right thing. He wanted to be a hero, but how could he ever do that when no one wanted his help?
Nikolas sat by the pond, watching himself in the water. The words on his collar, that spelled out his dream, shone to him in his reflection. HERO. "I am a hero." He decided, priding over his rather bulky appearance in the water. He was much thinner than he appeared to be, but the shimmer of waves along the pond's surface distorted who he truly was. All but that collar. The collar was everything. It was him, basically. If anything happened to it, Nik would have a literal freakout. It was his inspiration, pride and joy. He was the HERO.
And he wanted to show that. To prove that.

The three dogs who had been chasing Nikolas wandered back towards where they had been, their conversations constantly turning back to the Great Dane.
"Can you believe him? How dare he do that!"
"I can't explain how much I hate that guy."
"He's just so dumb. Next time he does anything like that, we'll get him."
The chat went on and on, always remaining around Nik. Someone overheard them, however, and butted in. "You'll do what, exactly?" The voice said coolly, wandering out of the shadows. Gayle, a rather respected member of the small community of canines in the area. He tilted his head towards the juveniles, who turned. Clearly surprised to see him. "Well if he does something like that again, we'll get him. You know, take him down. Beat him up." Said the one, quivering slightly. Gayle roared with laughter. "Now, what makes you think that's a good idea?" He grinned, shaking his head.
"I think it is. The others will like it too" The leader of the trio grumbled back. Gayle shook his head, his flat ears shaking back and forth. "No, no, no. Y'see, don't figure what other people will think. They probably don't think that. Now then, go home and get dry. You're sopping." The dog retained a calm, almost aloof attitude with the others. They sighed, looked at him unhappily, and wandered off towards their places in the town.
Gayle watched them toddle off, before turning towards where they had come from. If the other Dane, Nik, was causing trouble again... Gayle sighed. He was the only one who seemed to appreciate the younger dog. With that thought in mind, Gayle moved on in the direction of the pond, his mind full of confusion.

-Both in Orange-

Gayle noticed young Nikolas sitting by the pond, and padded calmly up to him. "Hey, you alright?" He said calmly, looking at the younger dog with a sense of curiosity and a parently concern that he shared with no other canine in the area. Nik, surprised, looked over at the other Great Dane. They were the only two in the town, likely the only two for a few miles around as well. Mostly Border Collies and Shepherds in these older country towns.
"No. I'm not alright." Nik returned fiercely, looking away at the water again. He distorted the clear surface, striking a paw into the mirror reflection of himself and leaving ripples to skim away along the disturbed pond. Somehow that made him even angrier. "I was never alright. All I want to do is help, but it's never good enough for anyone! You know what though? I'll show them! All of them..."
Gayle sighed.

*Sigh of relief from Sekaii's long history which is more of a story*

Is it alright if his history is more of a story? It just kinda turned itself into one and it's so long I don't feel like changing it much. Also, would theme songs be alright? I added one to Sekaii's form and wanted to know wether I could keep it or not. c:

Adding additional details like theme songs etc is fine ^^
And we actually prefer the history to be more like a story as it encourages detail and imagery x3

I will be here
when you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won't let it set you free
Til I break you

You’ll never know what hit you
Won’t see me closing in
I’m gonna make you suffer
This hell you put me in
I’m underneath your skin
The devil within
You’ll never know what hit you

I tried to be the lover to your nightmare
Look what you made of me
Now I’m a heavy burden that you can’t bear
Look what you made of me
Look what you made of me
I’ll make you see
