What is a Jewl Mane Dragon?
A Jewl Mane Dragon is a large creature with jewls on their forehead and tail.They eat mostly small mamals such as birds, squirels, and rabbits. The fur on their back,hind, and front legs feel like silk and is very short. The fur around their neck (Their 'mane') and tail is very soft, fluffy, and long. Jewl mane Dragons mostly keep to themselves but when they find someone they like the grow very attached, loyal, and talkitive. They're all slightly bigger than a mustang but some grow to be as large as a elephant. All Jewl Mane Dragons have jewls at the end of their tail and on their forehead. The jewl on their tail is used as a weapon in combat and hunting. The jewl on their forehead is used during mating season to atract females.

Fern
Personality:

Fern is bookishly smart, and a quick thinker. He possesses a unqiue sense of perception, and his keen eye for details never fail to see things in his own special way. He is obsessed with learning new things, though his eagerness rarely shows. Generally quite shy, Fern enjoys the mellow company of fellow intellectual Jewel Mane Dragons, however rowdy company tends to make him moody and anxious. He is very mellow and tidy, and he seems to have great domestic skills and talents such as cooking and cleaning.
History:

Born in a coniferous forest, Fern grew up in the underbrush of Banff, National Park in Canada. The lush foliage, the majestic mountains, the crisp, sapphire blue lakes were what this perceptive JMD called home. His burrow was beneath a tall pine tree on a mountainside, which he always kept clean, with the help of his mother. Even at young age this little Jewel Mane Dragon possessed maturity and insight, which he owed to an elderly owl who lived a few trees over. Everyday at the break of dawn, Fern rushed to see the knowleadgable owl, who would convey to him the teachings of the forest. Fern had never been so fascinated. It was with these tidbits of wisdom that Fern was able to take the owl's place after his passing. Even though he is still a young adult, he has managed to pass these teachings on to the younglings of the forest.
Favorite food:

Hazelnuts and mint leaves make a delightfully sweet combination.
Why do I want him?

He's so beautifully designed, I think the browns just add a lovely touch of earthiness to his look. He's so smart-looking, and has such a sublime set of markings. This little JMD will be loved and cared for without a doubt, and I may even have a special friend for him, (;
What will I do with him?

Well, I will definitely try to make art of him. I'm not sure if I'd be very good at drawing JMDs, but I'm sure I'd give it my best shot for this beaut. I can guarantee I'll write about him (maybe post it on CS) and I will always use him in any opportunity available. He's just too pretty to collect dust!

There lies a creature of insight so fine,

His mane of green like summer grass
A creature with intellect and class
His bejeweled forehead shimmers in the sun
