Name: Ciael
(ki-el)
Gender: Male
Reason of Mask: Despite his rather fierce, Latin name, he's a shy soul. Quiet, and often trying to hide behind someone's shirt, Ciael was always a skittish, frightful child. When he was young, probably only a little tyke, a scholarly man came by and visited his home. His parents were all a fuss over the man, but he didn't seem to notice. He was too focused on Ci. For Ci had been watching the man, hiding from the corners of doors and hallways. Finally, Ci approached the man, his face lowered to the ground like always and his hands behind his back.
"Why are you so scared of me little one?"
The man asked, his voice gentle and kind. Ci didn't answer, but simply shook his head. The man laughed quietly, and he gently ruffled his hair. Then, taking his tiny hands, he placed something within them. It was fierce, terrifying mask. Ci almost dropped it with fright. The man continued though, explaining that it was a mask of courage. It would grant the wearer courage to face life's challenges. Awed by the story, Ci put the mask on, looking up at the man for the first time that day.
Since then, Ci has worn the mask, believing it gives him the courage to face others. In reality though, it's only his belief in the mask that's real. The mask isn't magical, or special. Just a mask. And yet, because of his intense belief in it, in a way it is special.
