It was a chilly summer day,a rarity in my small town, where i lived, fall breezes went all round town, fall was coming, and no one was ever so happy as me,the coolness of the breeze felt good,so i went to explore the forest,i walked into the forest, looking high and low for a rune dragon, but i did not find one yet,i saw a hill and went over to the hill,i sat down,i was feeling down,no rune dragons at all.i though, then i saw a black speck,it moved over to the hill i was sitting on,then i saw it was a rune dragon,i though oh my god! a rune dragon, and it's going to get on the hill.it was now on the hill,it looked up at me,it's spectacular blue eyes starring at me,i said "hi,who are you, little dragon?'the rune saw my notebook in my hand,i let it have the notebook,it opened the notebook, and with it's hand, writes koli my name is koli,i read what it wrote and say"hi koli,my name is bri.it writes hi bri,my name is a old norse byname for a dark-complexioned person, derived from the element kol, meaning "black, coal."i say"okay, koli,i don't have a rune dragon, would you like to be my rune dragon?"koli writes"okay,i'll be your rune dragon, because you look lonely, and i am too."i say"okay, let's go."so i put my hand in front of koli, and he gets on my hand, and i put him in my pocket for safety, and i pick up the notebook, and put it in my other pocket, and i start walking to my house, and i get on the porch, and unlock the door, and i get inside and close the door and lock it,i sit down in my mom's chair, and i pick up the remote, and push the on button, and watch tv,with my new rune dragon koli, the end.

And Here's Some Artwork Of Him:

Owner Name:
dragoncool97
Name:
Kalamář (Inkwell in Czech)
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Kalamář is known for being rather quiet. He doesnt make any noise and will often sneak up on you by accident. He prefers to communicate on paper mainly by making a detailed picture of what he wants, where he wants to go, or if he has an idea for you to draw yourself. He's very kind and warm hearted but also is full of sadness when his owner is bored and doesnt know what to write or draw.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Because i've been wanting one of these forever! And ive been having a bout with artists block for a few days and he gives me something to draw and allows me to think of many ways to do the back ground.
Where will you keep him/her:
I'll keep him in my siggy, in art and will definetaly make a character page about him. (Yay! Story writing!)
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
No
Any Quirks:
He likes to play Pictionary, and loves to make massive foot print art on wood and tile floors.
Other:
I woke up one morning sprawled all across my bed. Papers littered my room, most were crumpled up failures. I sat up and rubbed my eye smudging some of the pen that had gotten on my face while i slept making it look like i had a black eye. I got up and walked slowly downstairs (sort of like a zombie) and started making some coffee. There were even more papers downstairs than upstairs, but this time there were canvases and composition books in giant piles. I didnt mind the mess. even though it was messy i knew where every thing was, which makes it miserable when my parents come and move everything to try and "Make it look professional and organized".

As i walked to the couch to watch some TV my foot stepped in something sticky. I looked down and saw what i though was paint at first but was really more ink-like in texture. I set my coffee on the table and bent down exsamining the strange liquid. Soon i realized there were more of these small puddles around. The liquid was on papers, and was soaking osome of my reject piles. At first i though i mustve done it last night while i had a small rage moment when i couldnt think of anything to draw when i remembered i didnt own any ink. I walked around my house finding more and more puddles of ink till i got to the one room which didnt have any papers littering the floor: My bathroom.

On the tile floor of my bathroom was a massive ink puddle in the shape of what i thought was a feather, and sitting in the middle of that massive puddle was a small rune dragon. I had seen Runes before and sketched wild ones sometimes. This one though was truely facinating; it looked like living ink. I quickly ran and got a canvas and some paint then ran back hoping the Rune was still there. Thankfully he was. I sat down right in front of him and his ink puddle and began to paint. As i painted he stared at me with this happy, joyful look on his face. I soon came to the conclusion that he knew i had been suffering fron Artist's and Writer's block for some time and was happy it was gone.

After about an hour or so i was finished and the rune knew it because he came over and carefully climbed onto my shoulder leaving little black foot prints on my arm. He looked over my painting of him and his puddle and made a pleased purring sound. I smiled for what seemed to be the first time in days. "Thanks for helping me get my insperation back little buddy." i said to the Rune who nuzzed against my cheek. I stroaked him gently. He looked more delicate than most runes due to his liquid-like look. I stood up and walked down stairs to paint more. Me and the Rune spent hours making new peices of artwork when my mother suddenly came into the room for a surprise visit. "what on earth happened?" Me and the Rune, who I named Kalamář, both turned around. "What? i was just painting." My living room wall now had a giant mural of Kalamář with an abstract background on it. My mother looked at me like i was crazy but i just smiled and looked at Kalamář, "Time for the upstairs." He smiled and me and i took that as a yes and for the rest of the day we reapainted all the walls in my house (but left some walls for another day if we get even cooler ideas!) The End.

[strike]Reserved for my form :) Ink designs tend to appeal to me, so I'd thought I'd try out, being bit of a writer. (More of a poet, but besides the point) This little rune won my heart.[/strike

Dropping out. I hope he goes to a good home <3]

One question; Does all the art have to be by you? Like, could you order art from other people and enter it? (Giving them credit, of course.) I ask this because I'm lousy at art, and the becuase I can't run Oekaki, or really any art program on the computer I'm on currently. ^^;
If not, I'll just stick to my writing. xD ^^

Owner Name:
~Willow
Name:
Dakwat Pahit ("bitter ink")
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Dakwat Pahit is a loner. He likes to be alone and create new forms of his inky art. He is very blunt in his answers but is right to the point. He is very quick witted and calm with a sence of weariness about him. He is a hard worker and very sturn, but he is no patient. He is not one to give nicknames or joke around with anyone. He is very serious in his work and one day hopes to make a master piece with his bearer. He likes calm, cool, quiet places where he most comfotable. His favorite place to work is in the basement, bacuse the attic's too hot and anywhere else is too noisy. He is always full of insperation and muse and tends to give others inspertaion when they see him. He likes to have paintings or drawings done of him, it makes him feel like a king. Dakwat Pahit is not one to feel guilty towards something he's done and prodomanatly feels accompished.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
When I saw him, my heart stoped. I instantly fell in love with this geogious rune. I knew he'd look awsome against my Jiwa Hilang and Lemon, though his and Lemon's colors clash. I knew I had to try for him and work my butt off to win him. I plan on treating him like a king, just like he likes.
Where will you keep him/her:
I will keep him in my charrie thread and utting him in my Rune Dragon thread, once I get around to makeing it ^^' I will make plenty of atr of him, so I'll be keeping him in my sketch books and gallary, too.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Yes, but very picky
Any Quirks:
He likes to be in calm, cool, quiet places. He has no regrets or guilt and likes to be treated like a king.

Re: Bitter Ink Rune

Postby Farrah » Tue Aug 28, 2012 1:24 pm

Owner Name:
Farrah
Name:
Novus
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Novus is very quiet and appears solitary at a glance, but he is affectionate with his owner when they are alone. He loves libraries, and books. He has a bitter past, and to some he can be unforgiving and cold.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Novus's colors are beautiful and the story was intriguing. I also like the fact that I came into the story expecting Novus to be the cause of the characters despair and inability to write, yet he was actually a comfort.
Where will you keep him/her:
I would definitely include Novus in a roleplay that I am working on, and might put him in my signature. I would also attempt some drawing...
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Maybe, it depends on whether or not I can find the perfect mate.
Any Quirks:
Novus is very picky not to get ink on any books, and he hates sloppy penmanship. This means that I have to turn pages if he is reading a story (regardless of whether or not I am reading a different one) and that he usually writes my papers.
Other:
Image
I may add another drawing.
Story:
I sat with Novus, drawing even though I couldn't draw, and I remembered my despair only two days ago.

I crumpled up yet another piece of paper, and dropped it in my quickly-filling trash can. Nothing, nothing, nothing! Nothing I wrote lately seemed any good! I tried and tried for hours, but I just couldn't write! No poetry, no stories, heck, I was having trouble daydreaming! I had the biggest writer's block in the history of writer's blocks, and it was driving me insane! I'd even tried to write about it, but even that was no good! It was not a good Wednesday. I couldn't think of anything to write in our Writer's notebook at school that didn't sound drab, and I wasn't exactly scoring A's in my poetry after-school classes.
The next day, I stayed very late after poetry. I was trying desperately to get a poem right, because I felt that I was so close, but it wasn't right. My teacher walked over.
"Could I see your poem, Farrah?" she asked nicely, and I groped desperately for an excuse.
"I-um, I-uh...I have writer's block." I explained. "Nothing I write is any good!" she nicely took my paper and read over it. Then she looked at me and smiled.
"I think I might have just the thing," she said, getting up and opening a drawer in her office. She carefully picked up a...Rune Dragon? I couldn't believe it! It was dark and inky, and had a faded blue symbol, like something that used to be absolutely brilliant but had worn down over time. It had little inky footprints that I could see on my teacher's hand. It hopped onto my desk, looked at my paper, and its eyes went wide. It squawked loudly and hopped all over my paper, completely covering it in the inky substance. My teacher got a new sheet of paper and he rewrote it. His handwriting was gorgeous!! And he wrote with his feet! It was almost unfair how nice it is. He added just what it needed, and just like that, the floodgates opened. The block was gone.

After that, I'd had a flood of ideas that had been trapped by the writer's block. So now, on Friday, Novus is writing my tenth idea of the day. I'd been very sure to take good care of Novus, as I found that he was easy to injure (he got a paper cut that I had to seal up with some wax until it was better. But now, me and him are laying down (more like: I'm laying down and he's writing) as we think up of new stories and poems together, creating and adding onto stories, and just hanging out. He hates my handwriting, and always inks it over, so I'm very careful to hide it from his sight. I'm glad to have Novus as my partner.

Image

    Image
    The Burning Rose
    Image
    Tennebrae
    Image
    Male
    Image
Tennebrae is a lovely creature, though shy. He prefers to stay indoors, perched on his owners shoulder as he reveiws work. He often finds ways to give inspiration and advice, even when unable to speak, and has an immense capacity for affection and love that seems to make up for everything though. He is extremely loyal to anyone who loves him and he loves, though not in the whole 'I'll fight to protect you' way. He's rather leary when it comes to fighting and would prefer to slink off and hide. He would figure out a clever way to help though, that doesn't involve him getting in the middle of it. If it's absolutely nescisarry, he could deliver quite the bite if he wanted to.
Being said that he isn't violent, he isn't quite lazy either. Tennebra seems to always be getting into things. He is constantly bouncing around- knocking things over, getting into things, and getting hurt, which is pretty easy for him. He immediatly runs to his companon when he gets hurt, whimpering and whining. It may seem hard to get used to at first, the fact that he is hurt so easily and is rather messy, leaving black droplets of blood behind him quite often. It's easy to look past that though and accomadate him though, once you realize what a sweet monster he is.
Tennebrae loves to sprawl out in a patch of sunlight and sleep, usually near three in the afternoon, after he has tuckered himself out playing and romping around. He's playful when he has the energy, usually in the morning, and after his nap he is more laid back, preferring to perch on his companions shoulder. He enjoys being held and snuggled with, and he's treated like a king. Receiving constant attention and only the best of accomadations, no one could ask for more, and he realizes that. He's rather smug, though not in an arrogant way, more of a teasing way. He is generous, willing to give up his companions things to others without a thought- then again, they aren't really his.
Tennebrae loves to go for walks in the woods or just outside, perched upon his companions shoulder. He doesn't enjoy going alone, ends up rather frightened, but he does like to come along. He really doesn't like being lonely for very long, and will get rather upset if he's left alone for lone periods of time. That being said, he's not too quick to make new friends- sort of shy. He does't like to aproach people or other runes first, preferring to stick close to people he knew. He is very sweet though, so making freinds when he gets up the courage is never too difficult. He dislikes rude things, and dirty things. He likes his space to be clean and tidy.
Tennebrae also likes to be helpful, or tries to be anyway. He likes to help out and give ideas and insiration for stories, and loves to be read to.

    Image
Hm, interesting question. Being a writer, I loved the little story with it. It seems so... unique, even though I know all of them are unique. I know the feeling of being museless pretty well, considering all the stuff I do, and I always end up feeling a bit lost and lonely whenever that happens, since the pen and paper are no longer a friend. I've been stalking the Rune Dragon thread for a while, looking for one I liked, and this is only the second one I've been drawn too enough to try out for, and would become my first if I managed to win it. I like the colors black and blue together in general, a neon blue and black are my favorite colors actually. Not to mention it looks as if its crying, and in need of comfort. x3
    Image
He'd take over my siggie for a while, before settling down with a detailed description and personality and history in my character thread, before most likely being entered in role-plays and the subject of many stories, along with having to pose for drawings and other art.
    Image
Considering I'm pretty shy and don't get super involved in things until I feel comfortable, probably not. I wouldn't accept any request for him to breed with any random other rune dragon.
    Image
Tennebra likes to nip and bite at peoples ankles, wrists, and hair. It's a show of affection, especially if you're sitting and writing he'll go for the wrist. It's never hard, and doesn't tend to leave a mark. Hide the writing utensils! Tennebrae also has a tendency to chew up any favorite writing utensil whether it be a pen, pencil, or... even a keyboard! A pencil here or there to keep him busy should do the trick though.
    Image
    Image

I sat staring at the computer screen, feeling torn and a little dead inside. I had just finished the ending of my most recent novel, and it had left me drained, tired, and my eyes red rimmed. Tennebrae sat on my shoulder, tail limp and sad. We both agreed it had been a beautiful, if sad, ending, though it didn't feel complete to me. I had just written the death of the main character, leaving me feeling hollow; I had just killed one of my children. All my characters became children in a way, all writers knew how it was. You gaev them life, you made them what they were, and when they died, it was your fault. But it still didn't seem complete, to either of us. I had learned to trust him when he said so too.
"Its not done, is it?" I asked softly, almost absently. Tennebra shook his head, sliding from my shoulder to the desk, standing near the computer screen. He had left black footprints over the desk when he walked across it to stare at the screen, and I wiped them away with my sleeve. He looked confused, or like he was thinking very hard. I sighed and leaned back, stretching my back with my hands over my head. I had been sitting here for hours, tapping away. It felt nice to stretch, and I got up slowly, shuffling over to the kitchen in my sweatpants as I pushed my tangled hair back. Probably looking like I had spent the night out partying, I poured a cup of cold coffee, glancing at the clock. I was about to head to my room, upon hearing a rather loud thump from the living room. Alarmed I quickly, stepped towards the room, but Tennebrae was already boundings towards me excitedly, chattering. He pulled on my ant leg, just about bouncing up and down in excitement. "What is it?" I asked, reaching down to pick him up. He usually loved being held, but he quickly squirmed from my grasp, nipping my wrist lightly. I sighed and stood again, grabbing a towel to wipe my hands off on, and to wipe him off with, since he must have cut himself when he fell. He ran straight to the door, jumping up against it and scratching at it. "Tenn," I said tiredly, using my nickname for him, "It's not time for our walk yet." He huffed and ran back to me, tugging against my pants before bounding back to the door. Clearly he wanted me to follow, though I wasn't so keen with the idea. I would have rather went to shower and get properly dressed, but I knew there was no use trying to shake the rune dragon at my back door. Walking over to him I picked him up with the towel, rubbing off his fur lightly. He squirmed out of the towel quickly, before scrambling up onto my shoulder, leaning forward and chattering until I opened the door. I reluctantly stepped out to his urgings, before he started tugging my hair. "Now stop that," I said in exasperation, taking my hair back from him gently. I was in no mood to mess around, especially since I was barefoot, and it wasn't exactly warm out. It was a crisp, clear sort of spring day, a bit chilly, but sunny.
Tennebrae tugged my hair to the side, making me look. I scanned the yard, and saw nothing. "What?" I asked, getting impatient. Whe he growled in my ear, I sighed and forced myself to calm down. "Okay okay, what do you want me to see," I asked, willing myself to be able to see it. When he hissed, his little claws digging into my shoulder, I was only more confused. He didn't look mad... He tugged my hair again, pointing in the direction of the shed. I saw a black cat slinking out from under it, and took a few steps closer. Tennebrae nodded, telling me that's what he wanted me to see. I watched as it slunk forward, toward a bird pecking at the ground, and when it was close enough, pounced, killing it with a swift bite to the neck. I gasped slightly, but Tennebrae dug his claws into my shoulder in warning. I watched as the cat picked up the bird and carried it back to the side of the shed, slipping under the side; the hole I still hadn't filled. Tennebrae glided off my shoulder to the ground, bounding towards the shed and scratching at it until I opened it for him, and he bounded ahead of me. I stopped to turn on the light and followed, coming around the corner to see the cat laying with five little kittens, scramblng and mewling to get at the bird. It took me a few minutes to realize what Tennebrae had wanted me to realize- with every death, there was life. I scooped him up with a happy shout, swinging him around. "You're brilliant!" I exclaimed, rushing back to the house. Of course! That was the perfect way to end it... I would have to edit a lot of the story, and possibly rewrite the ending few chapters completely, but I would be happy with it, and so would Tennebrae. I plopped him down on the desk, and he was about bouncing up and down in excitement. "Brilliant," I told him again, grinning. My inspiration.
I plopped myself down in the chair and pulled the document back up to start typing right away. I tapped away until I heard rather loud crunch from behind me, whirling around in the chair with wide eyes. Tennebrae was looking up at me sheepishly from the floor, a pencil laying at his feet in pieces. I sighed with a smile, reaching down to pick it up and pat him. Even though most my pencils ended up this way, I loved him none-the-less. "Suppose I should feed you, huh?" I asked, getting up to do so..

Owner Name:
UnluckyRaven13
Name:
Alexi
Gender:
Male
Personality:
Alexi is quiet and reserved, but when he sees someone cry or feels any negative emotion from them he becomes distressed in turn. He often uses his wisdom and understanding to help others past the pain they feel. He is also rather reserved only taking action when absolutely necessary. He is often found sitting on the shoulder of an artist watching as they write or draw with his head tilted slightly left as if thinking. He tends to walk across peoples drawings or papers if he disapproves of them his feet leaving his distinctive ink foot prints.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well, I am a writer and have found lately that my muse has left me. It makes me feel lost and alone because I use to put all my emotions and thoughts onto paper. My thoughts use to just flow onto the paper with little thought and now it seems to take forever for me to think of even a line, but when I saw this rune dragon I instantly fell in love and started to think that maybe I could write again. When I was about to quit and give up. I saw this little rune and felt like I could write again and sense then I have written another chapter of my story and have been doing much better. At first I thought I wouldn't try to get this rune because just seeing and reading the story made me feel better, but then I kept coming back and I couldn't pass up the chance to have him for my own.[/color]

He likes to watch rain clouds from the window. He only eats colorful candy.
Other:
I laughed happily as the small rune dragon perched upon my shoulder nuzzled my neck as a work cooing softly at him I rubbed under his chin. I then went back to focusing on my newest story, our story. It was a story of me and my little Alexi and how we became friends. I could still remember the day as Alexi sat on my shoulder looking at the page his head tilted to the side. It had been a day that started out dark and dreary. The large black clouds had been riding low in the sky, but no rain fell until later in the afternoon. I had sat at my window seat all day watching the clouds pass as I tried to understand how I lost my muse. It had been a couple days sense the last chapter I had wrote and I could feel the frustration it was causing me. It had been raining for about two hours heavily when the center of the storm rolled over me house. As if my eyes had been open, there sat a Rune Dragon sopping wet and looking depressed sitting in front of my window. I had squealed and quickly collected myself opening the window. I can still remember the look of thanks on the little runes face. I had let the little rune into the house ink dripped from his wings and beak. I hadn't cared at that moment that he was staining my seat and the wood windowsill. I had quickly grabbed a dirty towel from my floor and gently dried of the rune making sure not to break anything or hurt its delicate skin. After i had been sure he was dried of me and him and sat at the window looking at each other. That was the moment my muse returned i had laughed for a good five minutes before I collected myself and scratched under his chin. I quickly went over to my desk and began to write again when the little rune saw what i was doing he had hopped over to me and settled himself on my shoulder and he has been there ever sense. My little Alexi, my muse.

I know this form isn't very fancy, but my belief is that looks don't matter its the information that counts. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
