Some of them are - there's a pretty wide range in coat legths with them. The European dogs tend to be mountains of fur while the American ones are shorter (more like a plush coat), and males usually have longer coats and heavier feathering and ruffs than females. The one I've got up now is a female - a male would be hairier and have a different face.

full-coated male. They're all the same breed, just different lines. Lots of lines also have dogs that are in between, like my two are. ^^
