Hooves pounded the forest floor as a silver-and-gold Whelkon ran, attempting to escape from the poachers who had seen him. Why do they want me? Why not others? the Whelkon thought, weaving through the trees. I'm just an ordinary Whelkon, who has a bright pelt. he thought. Ginro over a fallen tree, and came to a stop. In front of him was a rock wall. He whirled around to see his pursuers cackling in greedful glee. Letting out a defiant cry, Ginro charged them, knocking them aside, but not before one of the poachers had whipped out a knife and slashed him on his side. Ginro raced off into the depths of the forest, escaping yet another attempt from poachers to end his life. When will this everlasting chase ever end? When will I ever be able to sleep in peace? Ginro asked in the private depths of his mind. "Please! Let the poachers leave me alone!" he cried pleadingly to the night sky.
▪ Why you want this Whelkon (Few sentences):
This boy struck me as one that has lived through a lot of hardship and suffering. When I read the description in the post, I realize that I wanted to give this Whelkon a good home, where he would be well taken care of and treasured. I wanted to give him a home where nothing could threaten him again, a place where he could settle down, and enjoy the beauty of life.
