I'd be fine to have her drawn with flopped more dog like ears

If I were to own this beautiful girl, I would call her Hope. I have an agility dog (golden retriever) who I love to pieces, but right now she has cancer. Hope, to me, represents the beauty of my dog in her full glory, the sweetness of her true nature, and the hope I hold within myself that she can be my agility dog once again. No amount of pixels can restore my dog's health, but this image makes me feel better. And, because of the happiness that arises in me when I see her sweet pink markings, I have chosen to name this character after the last thing left for me and my puppy. Hope. <3.:Breed:.
Border Collie x Husky mix.:Personality:.
Hope is sweet and lovable, kissing everybody she meets and wanting to be their best friend. She's the "sugar" part of sugar and spice, and has an enchanting charisma that's hard to resist! But underneath her happy exterior, Hope is deadly competitive and will stop at nothing to win. She gets very excited by the agility course, and starts jumping and yapping at the mere sight of a jump. She knows, the way only dogs can, when she wins. And she absolutely hates it when she doesn't!
While Hope is streamlined and graceful on the agility course, she is very down-to-earth elsewhere. A bit of a klutz and good-naturedly goofy, nothing is below her happy person! She loves mud, sticks, and even the baths that come after the two aforementioned. Nothing phases Hope, and she's your classic happy-go-lucky puppy.
Hope is also very intuitive. She knows when you're happy or when you're sad, and she can react to that very sweetly. On the agility course, her handler doesn't even have to give a command most of the time. Hope is perceptive, and half the time she knows what you want before you do. She's a good girl, and loves praise of any kind!
So to sum it all up again: Hope is:
~ Sweet ~
~Naive ~
~Competitive ~
~Goofy ~
~ Good-natured ~
~ Graceful ~
~ And most importantly, full of hope ~.:Quirks and Habits:.
~ Rolling in the mud right after every bath ~
~Stealing sticks at any opportunity ~
~ Jumping off too quickly on the a-frame ~
~ Running for cover at the sight of nail clippers ~
~ Eating paint (and then throwing up) ~
~ Sticking her head on people's laps ~
~ Carrying around shoes ~
~ Prancing around looking sure of herself ~
~ Running in circles as fast as she can ~
~ Chasing butterflies ~
~ Stealing chocolate ~
~ Lying on her back to beg for a tummy rub ~
~ Bossing around other dogs ~
~ Begging for food ~
~ Barking REALLY REALLY loudly ~
~ Refusing to come inside when she's supposed to ~
~ Digging up the backyard ~
~ Attracting attention with her beautiful looks ~
~ Getting her teeth brushed (the toothpaste is yummy) ~
~ Getting snuggles ~.:Q + A:.
April: So I hear you enjoy agility quite a bit. Can you asses for us how good you think you may be at it?
Hope: I think I get agility pretty well. It's what I'm good at--what I do, you know? It gets to a point where I don't even know how good I am naturally, I just judge how hard I'm working and how much improvement there is. I've gotten to some pretty high levels of competition--not to brag, but agility is definitely my niche.
April: So if agility is so much of your life, then what do you do with your time when you're not in a competition?
Hope: Practice, mostly! But I also love just following around my owner. What she does, I do, you know? So if she's, like, getting in the car to go somewhere, then I follow. And sometimes, on the way to wherever we're going, she'll stop and throw me a stick or two at a rest area or someplace. I love those times.
April: You feel you have a good connection then, with your owner?
Hope: Oh yeah. I love just about everybody, but my owner is the one I see day in and day out. That's pretty special to me, and I really can't imagine life any other way.
April: Then you would consider yourself a happy dog?
Hope: Oh yeah! What's not to love in life? There's the good stuff and the bad stuff, like everyone says, but it's always good again in the end. I've never had a single day without SOME redeeming feature, and as long as that's true I'll never be bored or unhappy with the way things are.
April: How about the things that ARE bad? How do you usually cope with stress?
Hope: Well if I can, I go out to the agility course. It's like flying, you know? And it takes away any anxiety I ever have. But if that's not possible, I'll go see my owner. She'll snuggle me and hug me and give me kisses, and that just makes everything all better again.
April: You see the world through very happy eyes. Would you consider your ways to be somewhat idealistic?
Hope: Oh sure! But why not? No point in looking at things UNhappily, now is there? Life may not life up to my head, but at least my head always lives up to my life!
April: You have very unique markings for a dog--has that ever bothered you?
Hope: Not at all. My owner says it's because I'm special, and in the agility ring it's not like it matters much anyway. That's one of the great things about the sport--hideous mutts and picture-perfect show poodles and even just dogs like me can all compete equally. But either way, I'm kinda proud of the way I look. I think it makes me unique, you know?
April: I do. Sounds like you have a great attitude for life, Hope--it's been a pleasure talking to you..:What Hope Will Be Used For:.
What WON'T Hope be used for? I will RP with her, write about her, draw her (once my tablet is fixed -_-), and generally love her every single day. :3 If I were to be blessed with the honor of owning Hope, not 24 hours would go by without something new for my favorite girl to do. I have very few characters, and each one is truly precious to me. Were Hope to join that number, she would be treated with every kind of care and consideration..:Why I Love Hope:.
Her markings are beautiful. Her lineart is beautiful. She reminds me of my dog, makes me smile, generally fills me with happiness, and I want so badly to express her beauty in any way I could. I rarely get so attached to pixels, but Hope is a rare case. This is a spectacular work of art, and I want desperately to call her my own..:How She Would Fit In With My Other Characters:.
Hope would be "the friendly one" of the group, the one who gets along with all the rest. She would be great friends with Smudge, my fursona--in fact, I think they would get along VERY well. Even their colors mesh perfectly. The two combined would be the reining king and queen of my character house, and most others would listen to them. I can also see Hope getting along with Kate, my persona, except Kate owns a cat...so maybe not. She would be closest to Smudge, and sociable with everyone. Lark, my "dignified" character, would be coaxed into talking by Hope and Hope alone. She wouldn't have a lot of respect for most of the other characters, but she would enjoy them, and being drawn with them! Of course, it still comes second in happiness levels to doing agility....:Art:.
Hope, like my dog, loves the hoops and has a lot of fun soaring through them. My tablet is broken so this is kinda bad mouse art--sorry!
I will be adding to this form. :3
