Please read all of the rules and information below before adopting!

~Information~

Golden Lilac Stables is a carefully operated horse farm located in the rolling fields and hills of northeastern Michigan. We specialize in breeding and training show-quality horses, and are very careful to whom we let our horses be given to. Every horse is special in its own respect, and we are here not to make a profit, but because of the love of horses. ♥

~How To Adopt~

Each horse that is available for adoption will have an "Adopt Me!" sticker on their page. Horses not for sale will not have an "Adopt Me!" sticker, and therefore, please do not ask for them.
Horses up for adoption will have a form on their page for you to fill out. Some forms will focus on creative information such as personality; and others may focus on art, short story, or even poetry. Please respect the forms -- do not edit the categories, give different wording, or adding extras (unless asked for), as it can make things confusing when judged.

    ~Rules~

-Please be respectful and polite! No whining, complaining, or fighting if you don't happen to win the adoption.
    -All of CS' rules apply
-Don't claim this art as your own, OR remove my signature from it.
-Don't steal someone else's horse, or use it without their permission.
    -No asking for customs.
-No chat-speak or texting talk -- say "Please" instead of "Plz", and the like. Makes yourself feel smarter that way... because you are.
-No adding uncalled for things to your adoption forms. If it asks for art, don't do a story instead. No confusing lettering either.

Image

~Adoption Guide-lines~

-You can only participate in one adoption at a time. (You cannot try out for two horses simultaneously.. I will know if you do.).
-You may only adopt one horse per week.
-Everyone can own up to 5 horses from GLS.
-Again, do not add uncalled-for things to your forms. Some things may be optional, but don't add anything, or you will be disqualified!
-Forms that are not completed by the noted adoption deadline will be disqualified.

~FAQ~

-Are the horses here growable?
A: No -- the young horses will stay young unless you draw them otherwise. It's too much work for me to keep track of growables at this time. c: However, if you're really interested in having your foal drawn/grown into the adult lines, PM me politely and we'll discuss the possibility.

-Is there some way we could breed our horses?
A: Not at this moment in time. I may open up breeding in the near future though, but no -- there isn't a set breeding system.

-Are you going to be adding more breeds of horses or ponies?
A: No, not likely. GL Stables specializes in our three current breeds (Appaloosas, Gypsy Vanners, and Falabellas), and honestly I don't think I could keep up with more than what we currently have.

-Are you accepting artists?
A: No. (Please don't pester me about it!)I may choose artists at my own leisure. No full time artists except myself and Micki. at this point.

-Would you be willing to draw some tack on my horse?
A: Shoot me a PM and there's a good chance I might accept, [depending on my schedule]! I require payment of ONE pet on my CS wishlist.. and you must provide picture(s) of the tack you wish me to draw on your horse.

Golden Lilac Stables - Horse Adopts

~The Breeds We Specialize In~

--Gypsy Vanner--

ImageImage

Info: Gypsy Vanners are recognized for their sturdy build and feathered legs. The heavy, thick hair starts at the knee and falls to cover the hoof. A Gypsy horse looks like a miniature draft horse and stands between 13 hands and 15 hands high. There is no standard color for Gypsy Vanners, although most are black and white. All markings and patterns are accepted. Gypsy Vanners are versatile animals. They are used for English and Western riding in a number of disciplines such as dressage or reining. They have been used in driving classes and can be found in horse shows all over the world. Known for its sweet, loving nature, the Gypsy Vanner is a wonderful pleasure horse as well as a childern's mount. The Gypsy people, who did not want the horses known to the outside world, kept Gypsy Vanners secret for a long time. This resulted in the horses being found only where the Gypsies would travel, mainly the United Kingdom and Ireland. Today, the Gypsy Vanner is still rare outside of certain circles but gaining popularity in America.

--Falabella Horse--

ImageImage

Info: The Falabella was developed in Argentina by crossing the smallest Shetland ponies with very small Thoroughbreds, then by crossing the smallest animals thereafter. The object was to produce a near-perfect equine specimen in miniature. Unfortunately, inbreeding has, at times, resulted in some weakness of conformation, although the best examples of the breed retain the qualities of good Shetland ponies. The breed, known as a miniature horse rather than a pony, is mainly kept as a pet, although the animals can be used in harness. They are not suitable for riding. Many of the breed have attractively spotted coats, and their head is large in proportion to their size. At most, a Falabella can stand up to 7.5 hh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--Appaloosa--

ImageImage

Info: The Appaloosa is a horse breed best known for its colorful leopard-spotted coat pattern. There is a wide range of body types within the breed, stemming from the influence of multiple breeds of horses throughout its history. Each horse's color pattern is genetically the result of various spotting patterns overlaid on top of one of several recognized base coat colors. It is not always easy to predict a grown Appaloosa's color at birth. Foals of any breed tend to be born with coats that darken when they shed their baby hair. In addition, Appaloosa foals do not always show classic leopard complex characteristics. Patterns sometimes change over the course of the horse's life although some, such as the blanket and lepoard patterns, tend to be stable. Horses with the varnish roan and snowflake patterns are especially prone to show very little color pattern at birth, developing more visible spotting as they get older. Their height varies from 14 to 16 hands (56 to 64 inches, 142 to 163 cm) full-grown. Today, the Appaloosa is one of the most popular breeds in the United States; it was named the official state horse of Idaho in 1975. It is best known as a stock horse used in a number of western riding disciplines, but is also a versatile breed with representatives seen in many other types of equestrian activity.
