Equid Name: Celestia
Equid Age: 3 years old
Poem:
I followed his hoofprints,
embossed in the snow
'twas mysterious and exiting ~
Where would they go?
They were patterns of dark
and patterns of light
Where they reality or illusion?
Truth evaded my sight
They wove through trees
and grassy glades
I followed them up mountains
and lonely plains
I followed them day and night
Until one misty day...
They stopped, halted, went on no more
Like they were spirited away
I stopped, dumbfounded,
for mysterious must he be
if he could lay his hoofprints
But still evade me.
I never found out -
I still wonder today
about that mysterious stallion
who lead me away
**EDIT** - silly me... I didn't notice that the poem was supposed to be about her brindling, until I had written the poem! So, here's another poem for your pleasure...
Patterns of dark
and patterns of light,
Who'll stay awake
in the blackness of night?
Maybe the ones
who can sleep in the day
or the ones who change
like the colours of May
The ones who can never
make up their mind
Who are always stumbling
like they are blind
One day they like yellow
one day they like green,
those are the people
who are not what they seem
One day they are gloomy,
one day they are bright
They quiver in the darkness
and flinch in the light
They change and flow
like a rippling wave
Shades of dark and light,
in a misty haze
Like the hypnotizing brindle
on the Equid's coat
makes you fixated
and cease to gloat.
I never could decided
which was which
Was it the black snow,
or the bright, white pitch?
So I continue
as sure as it not
to stay indecisive
and cast out my lot.
OK... so that was random... Now for something that makes more sense:
I saw her one day,
standing in the snow
bright like the sun, silver like the moon.
As I looked at her,
I thought of the sea
with it's everchanging waves and tides
But as I looked closer
I saw even more
I saw rippling darkness and light
I saw myself too
and all those I know
mirrored somehow in that changing coat
I saw how we've grown
and changed over years
how we're smarter, stronger and older
And how now, today,
we still are changing
changing like the gleaming Equid's coat
I look at the past
when I see myself
I wonder what the future will hold
But now I just stay
dreaming and thinking
captured by the light and dark shades
