Equid Name: Ocean Night Hawk (Ocean)
Equid Age: 2
Story:One day as Ocean was out walking she cam across a waterfall she bent down to take a drink. The water was so cool and refreshing that she shut her eyes for a minute. When she opened them she was surrounded by brightly colored ferrets and two foals with coats just like her family's. She gave a snort of surprise and thought to her self "where on earth did all these ferrets come from. And I thought our heard was the only one for miles around." As she looked closer at the two foals she realized that this were not Equid foals but horse foals.

They all just stood there for a minuet or two just staring at each other. The two foals looked each other then back at Ocean, then the little boy steeped forward and said "Everyone calls me Puck and this is my twin sister Dove." He then reached out with his muzzle and touched Oceans shoulder. He then leapt away yelling "your it", suddenly everyone scatted but one but one of the ferrets. This strange ferret with her big purple eyes, stripes and unicorn horn processed to jump up on Ocean's back. She looks beseechingly at Ocean and says "you have to help us we have been trying for hours to get those two." Ocean stood there staring at this crazy little creature. The ferret just sat there waiting for an answer, finally the little creature blinked and said "oh how foolish of my my name is Jade Speranza. What is yours?" Ocean continued to stand there dumbfound by the events of the last few minutes.

Suddenly out of nowhere the little foal called Puck came barreling around a corner. Ruining right in to Ocean knocking her in to the pool at the water falls base. She came up sputtering covered in nude with a fish stuck between her ears. In that moment she diced that it was time for some revenge. She lunged forward bumping Puck in to the pool and let out a whoop. Shouting "your it now" unbeknownst to her the poor fish was still stuck between her ears.

And don't worry the fish got back to his pool and Ocean got a new nickname that day along with new friends. They called her Hawkfish

P.S. If you want to know more about the ferret or foals just click the character link in the box below. :)

Equid Name:
Artemis
Equid Age:
3
Story:
As nearly all Equids, her story began in a herd. She was born into a large family, her father the lead stallion. High expectations were there for her all her life, but she found that leading or protecting the herd just wasn't her thing. She was born on a bright sunny day and from the start showed her speed and finesse. She galloped, jumped, bucked, and reared before many others had even stood.

It was a normal morning when she and several other yearlings were out for a mid-morning run when a race broke out. Artemis raced into the lead, as usual. In fact, she went so far ahead that the others lost sight of her. When they still could not find her, they began to call frantically at the place where they had last seen her, a small drop with a high ledge above. Several of them lowered their heads, nostrils wide, to search for her. Their ears stood erect as a crumbling noise sounded from above. Heads raised curiously, they saw a black and white blur before feeling a heavy weight on their backs.

(No Equids were harmed in the occurance of this story. xD)

Equid Name: Black Horizon (Horizon for short)
Equid Age: 4 years
Story: Black Horizon, or Horizon, was an adventurous young Equid when she was younger. Also quite foolish and daring. When she was 3 years old, her brindle began to slowly fade in. It didn't show much before it began to fade away again. Why did it fade away? That's an interesting story. You see, Horizon's foolish and daring sense of adventure was... rather a rediculous sense adventure. Her idea of adventure was doing dangerous things to prove she wasn't weak like some of the colts said she was. Unlike the other fillies, who, wisely, took no notice of the colts' untrue and teasing remarks, Horizon took these things to heart. She just had to prove that she wasn't any of that.
One day, a colt that wasn't in her herd walked up. He was a horse, not an Equid, and had never seen an Equid before. Horizon was just standing there, alone, when this stupid horse colt trotted up. He looked over her and laughed. Horizon flicked her tail in anger and demanded to know what the foolish colt was laughing at.
"Your legs," the colt shrieked with laughter. "Your skinny, useless legs! What else would I be laughing at, you fool?" Horizon stamped her hoof and glared at the bay colt.
"My legs?" she nearly growled. "I should be laughing at your legs, those thick, heavy blobs of fat." She had never seen a horse before, and thought that he was an Equid that ate far too much and had a tail disorder of some sort.
"Your legs are extremely weak," the colt laughed. "I'll bet if you jumped over a fence they would break and you'd die!"
"Oh they would, would they?" Horizon shouted. "They wouldn't, and you know it!"
"Yes, they would," the colt roared with laughter. "Or are you going to jump over that fence over there and prove that you are right?" Horizon glanced at the fence he was reffering to. A barbed wire fence. Not too high, but higher than she'd ever jumped before. In the back of her mind, Horizon knew she shouldn't give into the colt's dare, but she foolishly pushed the thought away and accepted his dare haughtily.
"Of course I'll prove it," she snorted. "Do you take me for a fool?" The colt rolled his eyes and stepped back to watch Horizon make the jump. Horizon readied herself, studying the fence as she prepared to gallop towards it. She pushed herself forward with her hind legs, lurching into a gallop. The dust from the sandy ground coated her lower legs as she propelled herself forward with vigor and strength. The colt was surprised at the speed she managed to atain with those thin legs. As she neared the fence, she gathered her strength and pushed off as hard as she could into the air. But she had jumped too soon. As she landed her hind leg got caught in the barbed wire. The malicious colt's mirthful laughter sounded through the warm air, the piercing Horizon's ears like a knife. Horizon tried to kick the wire off but only scratched herself more. She tried to push it off with her other leg but got that stuck, too. She flailed around desparately, eventually getting her whole body tangled in the barbed wire. She laid there for a moment, her body, legs, neck, head, and tail covered in bleeding scratches. Then she neighed as loud as she could. She neighed again and again, but no one, horse, human, or Equid, came to her rescue. She laid her head on the ground painfully, awaiting her death and regretting her foolish choice. About an hour or so later, she raised her head because she had heard a sound nearby. She let a hoarse neigh, her throat sore and parched. A car appeared on the horizon. Horizon neighed again. The car stopped and someone got out. A girl ran towards Horizon, stopped a few feet away, and ran back. Horizon let her head fall to the ground again. If this human wouldn't help her, who would? Her delicate and bleeding ears flickered at the sound of approaching footsteps. She raised her head to see the human girl running back, this time with wirecutters in her hands. After the girl untangled Horizon, she got the Equid into her barn, which, luckily, wasn't too far away.
It took several days for Horizon to recover. Once she did, the girl, who Horizon now knew as Horsie, led her outside. Horsie took the halter off of Horizon's head and gestured to the open land before her. Horizon glanced at Horsie in confusion. Was this girl offering her freedom? Horizon had always thought that humans were greedy creatures that kept whatever they wanted. But this girl was different than what Horizon had expected. Horizon shook her head and nuzzled Horsie, choosing to stay with her human friend rather than to return to the wild. Horizon always loved jumping and practiced often- but never over a barbed wire fence again! And somehow, during the time when she was tangled in the barbed wire, whatever was making her brindle appear was disrupted, and the brindle quickly faded into nothingness.

Equid Name: Kahlan
Equid Age: 6 months
Story:

It was a bright and sunny day in the mountains when I got my badge of awesomeness. What is this badge of awesomeness you may ask? Well, I'm not quite sure, but I'll tell you how I got it.

It all started when my little sister asked me for something. "Sissy!" "What?!" "Sissy!" "What?!""Sissy!" *pause* "SISSY!!!" "What is it?!"
"There's a foal stuck in a tree." "In a tree?" "Yes in a tree" "Well, how did it get up there?!" "Pshh...... I don't know, go see for yourself."

So I went out with her, and the whole time she was singing some random stupid song. " My legs are skinny, my legs are skinny. But I can run fast, but I can run fast. I'll jump right right over the moon again, and ask the man how he's doing then I'll come back down." "What kind of a song is that?" I asked her. "It's an awesome one, sir, it's an awesome one." I ignored the fact that she called me sir, and kept walking. "How far away is it?" "I don't know." "What...how could you not.." "The trees are my friends." "Ok, then." I was starting to wonder if my sister was being serious, but then I heard the whinny. "*inhale* It's a moose!" "No it's not a moose, it's the horse you were talking about." *silence* "The one that got stuck in the tree?" "Oooooooh yeeeeaaah." So we went up to the horse, and this is what he said. " Don't come any closer, there's cheese in my brain!" "Cheese.....in your brain" "Yush, It's delicious, I don't want you to eat it." "Actually I just wanted to get you down from there." "But this is my house." "You live in a tree?" "Yup." "But it looks like your stuck, can you move?" "I don't need to." I was now starting to wonder if this situation could get any weirder, and then my sister started dancing weirdly " Doo dee doo dee doo dee doo dee doo dee DOOOOO!" "What are you doing?" "I'm dancing him out of the tree." "I don't think that's going to work." "SHHHHHHHH, I'm concentrating" Then the weirdest thing happened. My little sister somehow telepathically moved the horse and put it on the ground. Then I finally had enough and I said "I'm leaving." "You'll get eaten by the Slumees!" "Don't care, it's better than being here."

Then confetti poured out of the air, and this weird celebratory music started playing. My sister the announced "Congratulations, you have earned the awesomeness badge!" "The awesomeness badge? Why?" "You found the moose." Then I looked down to see that I was standing on a poorly drawn moose in the dirt. "Oh, come on!" "Be patient, I'm getting the badge." "Then she took a fallen leaf and smeared some mud on it, then she said "You have earned the honor of awesomeness." And she stuck it on my face.

That is how I got my badge of awesomeness. I can honestly say it was the weirdest day of my life....until the next day.

Story: I was born with other equid's in the mountains where we were safe from harm. My mother said I was special, when I was born because I had no brindled upon my body, which made me different from the others. As I grew up and was in my teen years, I didn't have very many friends and every other equid's would stare or laugh at me but, that did not effect me. I would usually go down the mountain out in the field and run my heart out, like I was free from everyone and anyone! the Older equid's were always telling my mother to keep me out of the fields alone because the "humans" would find me, but I don't know what "humans" are and didn't care either the only thing running through my mind was going to the field. When I came back to my den or were we could find shelter, I was stopped in my tracks when I over heard the elders. I couldn't make out every thing they were saying, but-.. "I was stiff"...wait....they..they can't really mean this..I was in shock, I couldn't speak or move. They wanted me BANNED!! But I got enough strength back to actually move in closer.

I walked in, in the middle of there "talk", to find my mother was agreeing to what they were talking about! My own mother... I had tears in my eyes has she tried to say it was for my own good, with anger I snorted at her, and took off, down the mountain and ran like I never had before and down to a forrest near by. I could barely see with all the tears in my eyes. Then I started to lose my breathe and slowed down, I was thinking to myself when.. "BAM!".. ouch! I started to clear out my sight when I came face to face with a two legged creature! When our eyes met we both screamed... well for me a neigh. The the two legged creature started to run away from me? It must have not been very bright because it hit a tree. I started to walk away but guilt was driven me NUTS! So I turned back to "investigate" "it". I sniffed it head, then nudge it with my nose. Suddenly it opened it's eyes and I shot back quickly, heart thumping rapidly. It stood up half-way and just sit there.. it must have been frightened to because I could see it in it's eyes.

We both stood there never leaving eye contact. It must have been a while because the sun was starting to set. I was getting hungry, but was afraid to move. The two legged creature stood up cautiously and left... maybe it was going to bring back others but still unable to move because I was to weak. It came back with some fresh grass, and fruit. It started to slowly walk over to me, and with a soft voice almost like a whisper it said "Do not fear me, I will not harm you, only to help you." It laid the food down to me and without hesitation I began to eat it.. very fast. I felt a soft hand run down my mane, but I did not move. I looked around to see the creature stroking me very gentle like. singing a soft tone that I thought was very soothing. It started to quit when I realized what mother described as a HUMAN! But the elder's said they would harm us? But why not this one.. then "she" started to fall, but caught her with my tail and pulled her close to my warm body and wrapped my tail around both of us, to keep us warm from the cold night. There was something strange about her... there was like a bond with us, and bond that will be ever lasting..

Equid Name: Amity
Equid Age: 5 yr
Story:
A cool, early autumn breeze whistled past my ears as I pranced gaily by the water’s edge. The leaves of many colors freed themselves from their tree prisons and floated, finally free, landing on the streams delicate, crystalline surface and travelled with the drift. The ones that didn’t long to travel crunched beneath my hooves and light filly’s step. My companion, a ruby red butterfly fluttered nearby and landed for a rest on my paper white muzzle. I halted and gazed down at the delicate creature with curious eyes, “Butterfly, what is it like to fly?” I nickered the question so quietly for fear that it would fly away. I was just imagining the many possibilities of its response when something rubbed by rump leaving a soft static feeling in my fur. Startled, I jumped, scaring away the insect before it could answer my question. Instinctively, my ears flick back against my head and my mane bristled standing on end. I spun around ready to pounce on an unruly colt, but to find something completely different. Way different. It was red like the autumn leaves. It flew like the butterfly. And it had a long silvery tail that wavered in the soft breezes. “Hey, what’s the big idea?” I snorted in irritation with this vile creature that interrupted my very important conversation with my friend. The balloon answered my irritation by floating away, right over my shoulder, as if it didn’t care about what I had to say. Now furious I bolted after the object. Instead of speaking I just stared. And stared. And stared. Then I asked, “What’s it like to fly?” no response, but something told me in my heart that it wanted to show me. Then a strong wind picked up my new companion and blew him quickly away from me. Giggling, I ran swiftly after, occasionally leaping into the air to catch my friend. “Wait up!” I whinnied in delight. Then it crossed the stream and halted. Its imaginary face stared at me beckoning me to join it. My hooves skid into the soft mud as I stopped swiftly. It stared at me and I stared at it. It stared. I stared. Then as if by some secret command I turned and trotted away from the edge. With a flick of my long ebony cat’s tail I turned back towards the sparkling stream. Mustering all the courage I could hold I broke abruptly into a gallop towards the edge as fast as my skinny foal legs could carry me. At the final second before I would splash into the water I used all the strength in my hind legs to propel myself high into the air. The time around me seemed to halt completely. The view was beautiful. The colors blurred together painting the picture that still etches into my mind today. I was devastated when I landed on the opposite bank. Not devastated from disappointment, but devastated that the moment had to end. I searched around for my red little friend only to find that he had left my in all my bitter glory. I trotted across the stream, sends orbs of the crystal water flying just as I had, and continued on my walk. I never viewed the world the same as I did in that brief moment of flight.
