Name: Gilgalad
Gender: Male
Personality: Gilgalad's personality is a wide variety of personalities he has picked up from various situations that have thrust upon him. In most cases, Gilgalad is happy, because that is the first emotion of his family. With that being said, however, Gilgalad is very unstable, because he was betrayed by his family. While he is dangerous when this happens, Gilgalad is most often bright, intelligent, and uplifting. He tries his hardest to ease himself into society, even though his a bit of an outcast.
Gilgalad often responds to a social situation negatively, shying away from touch, and refraining from speaking. Many get the feeling that he is just stand-offish, and leaves him alone. Others, however, think he is a sociophobe* and tries to help him. Gilgalad is sometimes annoyed at this, and isn't afraid to intimidate people to get them away from him.
History: Having hatched far later than his brothers and sisters, Gilgalad grew up significantly smaller then them. He ignored his height, or lack thereof, for most of his life, until he was faced with the problem of being adopted. His cuteness made him very popular, but they all treated him like a child. Gilgalad felt lost and dejected, as no one was able to respect him for who he was on the inside. For a long time, Gilgalad rejected the offers on him.
Finally, after one of his birthdays, Gilgalad's parents revealed to him that the reason that he was smaller and so different from the others was because he had been taken in by Gilgalad's 'parents' friends, who had died by disease. Gilgalad as an egg had caught this mysterious ailment, but instead of dying from it, he was born smaller than his adopted brother and sisters. Gilgalad felt very alone. He had no one to turn to for help, as he felt his parents had betrayed him, his siblings weren't even related to him, and the few friends he did have were only friends with him because of his siblings.
Saddened and angered, Gilgalad ran away from his family to try and find himself. While out in the world, he met the Joker. Joker took him in for a short time, volunteering a place for him to stay until he new where he wanted to go. Gilgalad took on a pet like role, and made friends with the Joke, who never pried him for information. Joker and Gilgalad's friendship grew, until Gilgalad finally admitted what had happened to him. Joker, however, didn't pity him, he didn't cluck over him like a mother hen, he simply nodded. After that, things became kind of awkward. Joker often refrained from speaking to Gilgalad, and Gilgalad was to shy to actually initiate a conversation with The Joker.
After a year, Gilgalad finally began told Joker his idea of returning to his surrogate family, and Joker didn't say anything. Gilgalad, heartbroken, left in the middle of the night and tried to find his way back to his family. However, after the year of spending so much time around the human society, Gilgalad lost his sense of direction, and ended up getting lost. For months, Gilgalad wandered, trying to find his way back, while slowly relearning his feral instincts.
During this time, The Joker, guilty for giving Gilgalad the impression that he didn't want him around, went out to find him. The two had quite an adventure trying to find each other, but they did end up together again. Joker apologized to Gilgalad, and Gilgalad, in turn, admitted to Joker that he could't survive as a feral anymore. Joker took Gilgalad back in, and the two restarted their lives together.
Gilgalad still visits his adopted family, though now he only ever goes with Joker, and they have mended their relationship. It all turned out well in the end.
Story: Gilgalad smiled to himself as he walked down the hall. He really was in a very good mood. His master, Joker the Mischief Maker, was out for the day, which meant he had the house to himself. Which also meant a little of his own mischief would be made. Beaming with enthusiasm, Gilgalad walked into the kitchen, before pausing in shock in anger when he saw his food bowl was empty. Joker never forgot to fill it, unless of course it was important. With an evil smirk, Gilgalad trotted over to the cabinet and, after a moment of thought, tried to nudge the door open. To his surprise, it swung open easily. That was even more odd then the unfilled food bowl. Joker must have had to run off very quickly.
Gilgalad scanned the lower shelf, which held pasta, cans, dressings, and crackers. After a moment of thought, Gilgalad pulled down the crackers from the shelf, took out a small, individual package, and tossed it to the side, then used the box to reach the second shelf. This held cereals, teas, and other things that Gilgalad didn't care for. Pulling down three cereal boxes, Gilgalad placed them on top of the cracker box, rising higher. "Ah!" He chirped eagerly as he reached the shelf that really mattered. Level 3, Snacks, Bars, and dragon treats! After a moment of thought as to how he should go about it, Gilgalad gave a death defying leap into the cabinet. Landing in a bag of Lays© chips. Squealing in delight, Gilgalad crawled over to where is treats were held and picked them up in his mouth, then he leaped onto the nearby counter and began to try and open the bag.
Now, while Gilgalad wasn't the smartest creature around, he certainly did know his stuff. This included how to read. After a moment or so of chewing the bag, he pulled back and glared. He had made no progress, then he saw, surrounded in a bright red, spiky bubble and written in orange letters, were the proudly presented words, "Bite Proof".
Gilgalad snarled in frustration and began to attack the bag, claws out ad mouth open, to reveal a small set of fangs. In a fit of frustration, Tansei batted the bag back into the cupboard. Fueled by frustration and hunger, Gilgalad leapt back into the cabinet and began to wrestle violently with the bag. He didn't hear the sound of a garage door closing.
"Yes, Doctor, I left the house without feeding Gilgalad. Yes, I am confident he wouldn't go into the cupboard, so I didn't bothering locking it. Yes, I agree, he does need to start exercising." Joker said, speaking on his cell as he walked into the kitchen from the garage. Joker suddenly froze and dropped the phone.
Lays© Chips were everywhere, his cereal and crackers were stacked up against the cupboard, and the sound of growling was coming from the third level of the cupboard. Joker blanched, fearing a mouse, or worse, a rat. Grasping a nearby pot nervously, he neared the cabinet.
In side, still wrestling as though his life depended on it, was Gilgalad, trying to scratch the treat bag open. Joker grinned widely, Gilgalad still hadn't seen him. The jokester returned to pick up the phone he had dropped.
"Not to worry about the exercise doctor! Gilgalad is having quite the workout right about now."
Poem? A gentle blanket around my form
A little sea of green
A smile on the petite snout
A phobia unseen
but when I leave my house and I
bring him where I go
then is this silent fear revealed
when others near him so
I try to keep him occupied
don't let him think of touch
I am the only one who's near him
For the world, I am his crutch
But worry not, forever
my little sea of jade
for while the world passes by
we will never fade.
Why do you want Him?: I would love to explore this character more. I was unable to fill in the form yesterday, plus I feared I wouldn't put my proper effort into it. I have never had a 'cute' character before, and would love to claim that not all my characters are dark and depressing. I also think he nicely expresses 'me' on a good day, slightly on contradictory sides, but still just wanting to be happy.
*A sociaphobe is someone who is afraid of social situations.
Thank you so much for the chance for this little angel. I know this is a lot, but I had a lot to say

I really love this little guy!
