"My friend, there is no Evil or Good, just great power, and those too weak to seek it."

☪ ☪ ☪

Invidia allowed her paws to stretch out slightly further and rest on the bare side of a large boulder that stood before her. Head spinning slightly, Invidia spun round lazily to face to face the glistening moon above. Starlight made her black pelt turn a silvery grey in it's glittering rays. What a night it was. The only sound that erupted around the atmosphere was the silent tick of night, getting louder and louder untill it awoke those resting from a hard day- SNAP.

Drowsy but restless, Invidia rose quickly to her paws, ears twitching. Her one golden eye blinked into alert mode, tail sweeping the ground dangerously at the disturbance. But the sound didn't repeat nor return in a different manner. The silent night continued as though the sound had been only a dream. Maybe it really was a dream, Invidia thought in a questioning manner. CRACK. The sly night allowed another interuption attack Invidia' mind. Invidia turned and jumped on the dusty rock she had been sleeping next to, and allowed her eye to spin around the shadowy landscape. The unexpected noises reminded Invidia of a time many Autumns ago, when a young fox had sent her rampaging into attack. Envy spilled into her soul as she thought of all those Life-traitors, fast asleep withoute a worry in the world... Or atleast believing they had no worries in the world.

Calm but suspicious, the tall she-wolf prowled into the night. Possibly she would meet one of her fellow sins, or possibly a sleeping Life-traitor that would make a juicy and satisfying meal. At that thought, a rumble echoed in Invidia's stomach. She was pretty hungry after all. Silent but steady, Invidia crept swiftly into the shadows, the familiar shrubs brushing her pelt, like flames licking at her black fur had done so long back into her past. Quietly the night's ticking faded back into Invidia's ears but, as if on queue, the night let out a loud THUMP. Suspicions wild, Invidia spun round to where the sound had come from. Who dare annoy the sin of Envy?

Hubris

"I am the origin of all that is evil in this world but it is you who invites me into your soul
and only you are to blame for your partake of the seven sins." ~ Pride

Pride

__________________________________________________________

Hubris prowled the woods alone as the scents of the nearby pack filled his nose. A small curl of his lips showed his dislike for the creatures but his mind was also at ease from the constant pestering of his master when he was close to this foreign pack. Ears flicking, he turned his attention to the darkness of the woods as the presence of another of his kind made their way closer. He stood tall and attentive while lifting his head slightly to catch a scent. Distinguishing which sin it was took only a matter of moments as he pulled himself from the packs territory and made his way over to Envy. Seeing the dark she-wolf perk at the sounds around her he made no effort to hide himself in the darkness and continued to pad forward "So you still prowl this woods alone Envy. One would think you would be right in the middle of everything." His voice was deep as he spoke to his sister sin "Have you not sensed the wolf of hope enter these woods?" He got straight to the point and was partly glad to be near another of his kind after suffering the stench of the mortal wolves nearby.

Hubris could feel the familiar scratch at the back of his head as the buzzing of his master's calls made their way to his ears. To kill the Hope and to rid of this lowly pack was what his master most desired but what of his own desires? Hubris was beginning to think more and more independently but he made no notion of his thoughts to the sin before him. "It seems the woods grow quiter everyday as life leaves it's fortress. Hunting will become more scarce now that the sins are here and it has been quite entertaining watching the pack go about their daily lives." Little emotion made his pitch in tone cold and uncaring as he looked to the fae with an unwavering stare.

Invidia didn't even flinch as the somehow familiar but also unfamiliar voice echoed from behind her. Turning, her gaze fixed on the fellow sin. A quick glance at his eyes, and his name came to her mind, "Hubris." she greeted lightly but emotionlessly, golden eye still fixed on the dark male. "I am not a company-lover, as you must know, Hubris. Have you ever seen me standing right in the middle of all the comotion? However, I am not saying a little drama isn't to my liking." she murmured gently, tal brushing the ground ever so lightly. "And to your question, you must surely understand the will of freedome stops much from bothering me? I have seen it all. Heard it all. Scented it all. Even tasted it all." at this point, Invidia's gaze finally flickered to the sky, where the stars seemed to dance like their own small, glittering suns. "Despite all the many disasters in this world, my life continues in peace. Thankfully. And yet, I can tell I am getting closer. Closer and closer to the Hope. Hubris. I don't need to fight my way to find it. It is right infront of me, and I am walking towards it, life step by life step." Invidia's watchful gaze moved once more down onto Hubris. Her black pelt blended into the shadows even more as the moon moved on, so it shot it's bright rays off of Invidia and onto a patch of bedraggled grass nearby.

Thoughtfully, Invidia once more switched her gaze to his eyes. So much to learn, just from a single stare into any wolf's eye. Hubris' thoughts were mingled and harder to read. But in a way, she knew she shared part of these thoughts. She wasn't sure how to she knew, but she just did. It could, possibly, be to do with the life or sin they shared, but she couldn't pinpoint the reason. To his next few words, she, at first, did nothing. Just let the breeze ruffle her pelt gently until she automatically sat down, tail still lifted high protectively, and opened her jaws to taste the air. Still no scent other than the putrid, mocking stench of Life-traitors and the knowing scent of Pride lingered in the air. Finally, she came to answer the sin's question. "I agree." was all she could force herself to mutter as another breeze shook her pelt, but didn't even move Invidia a inch.

As the brute dragged the deer kill out of the pack territory, a familiar scent lingered over to his nose. As it enter a deep guttural growl erupted from the sin as his honey brown eyes scanned the area around him for the source. The source didn't intend on showing itself to him.

Avarice dropped his kill and stepped forth upon the body before sitting down. He was claiming it and showing he was going to fight to keep the prey. Giving a signature grin known of his kind.
"Show yourself, you sad weak wolf! Or maybe are you smart enough to know I will kill you easily?"

The sin was hoping that this familiar wolf would take his mocking words to heart and show themselves. However, if they didn't then he wouldn't dare leave his kill to the possibility of being taken.

_____________________________________________________________________

Legacy
“Life is a dream, an illusion.”

_____________________________________________________________________

Ransom listened to the female wolf speak of her home, her pack. He nodded, showing he was listening. After she finished, Ransom thought about the position that he could give her. He already knew, of course. Nada would be a disputant and would be moved up to Saboteur if she showed the pack exceptional battle skills. "Nada," he began, "You shall be a disputant. Disputants are the main body of our pack and are the ones who do most of the hunting," he informed her. "Legacy is one as well. If you show exceptional skills in battle, however," he said, looking at her with his amber gaze, "you will be moved up to the rank of saboteur."

After assigning the newest member of the pack her position, Ransom smiled, all formality gone. Instead, a friendly, kind wolf was there, much more like his sister. "You should rest for today," he told her. "Legacy or I will show you around the territory tomorrow, once you're well rested. Legacy should be back with some food for the pack soon."

A sudden thought came to his mind and he frowned. "Nada, before I forget," the brute began, "there has been some...other...different wolves here. These wolves are known as the Sins. There's seven of them," he said. "A long time ago, there was a wolf who came who offered this pack something. They refused, so he unleashed these Sins as wolves. It shouldn't be hard to identify them," he told her. "But, be careful when you go hunting by yourself."

_____________________________________________________________________

Ransom
“Everybody lies, but it doesn’t matter since nobody listens..”

_____________________________________________________________________

Legacy had about to turn and resume her search for hunting, when she heard Avarice. Sad and weak? She heard herself let out a low growl. "You're supposed to be resting," she snapped. She straightened, glaring at him. "You're a bit egotistic. And you know, you're in the form of a wolf as well," she muttered, "So don't act high and mighty when you're the same species, even if you are a Sin, making you a bit more stronger than normal wolves. Just moments ago, you were passed out," the fae reminded, her eyes narrow.

She didn't know why or what, but something about Avarice just irritated and aggravated her. At the same time, something intrigued her. Why, she didn't know. She knew it would be better for her to try and avoid the brute at all costs, turning around if she even caught his scent, but it wasn't so easy. Not when she was intrigued and curious. Perhaps that's what it was that irritated the female.

Finally the sound of the secretive wolf's voice broke the silence that surrounded them. The pitch, softness, and the attitude in it hit the brute all at once. He knew this voice from earlier. Piecing together the voice and the scent it came to him, it was that ivory fae Legacy. A smirk crept onto the sins maw at her words. "About time you show yourself Legacy. You're words aren't really touching or offending me so you might as well stop. I'm only in this form because of my masters liking, beside that you're race is to parish. I'm not the same species as you so get that fact straight. Sins are far off from wolves in reality even if we look like them. But anyways, hows my little fae doing? Are you mad about something or perhaps just playing hard to get"

Avarice was enjoying this little moment of flirting and even aggravating Legacy. Her mood was so easy to read as it was written all over her face. She was just too easy to anger, but it brought great interest to the brute. This little wolf was quite entertaining.

Jumping down from the deer kill, the sin latched his jaws on it's neck once again and started to take his leave. She may have brightened up his day a little but that didn't mean she wasn't a threat to stealing his food.

Aristotle wrote:"Hope is the
dream of a
waking man."
Nada nods to Ransom, smiling softly to him as he tells her about her new rank. "Thank you, Ransom. I think that sounds just fine. Though I doubt I will ever be saboteur, as I'm not really much of a fighter." She answers softly and truthfully, not realizing just how hard she has had to fight to keep her life, against all odds she has survived the destruction of her pack. That instinct to hold on and never surrender, is so deeply ingrained into her soul that she can't even see it, attributing to luck and chance that which rightfully belongs to tenacity and boldness of heart. Seeing Ransom's smile then, her own broadens and deepens a bit, and she moves forward to lick him under the chin.

Acknowledging the imminent return of Legacy with another nod, Nada settles back down, resting her head on her paws. Food... That sounds very nice right about now. Oh, it has been so long since I've had a good meal! Stomach grumbling a bit from her thoughts, she notices the change in Ransom's face and her ears perk up as he speaks of the sins. Though she doesn't lift her head, she listens intently to what he says, and curiosity bubbles up inside of her. His story immediately turns her mind to the howl earlier, the beaconing almost irresistible pull in that call was the strangest thing she had ever heard. Even now, the memory of it sends a shiver up her spine. "Sins... You mean like in the old stories? They're actually here?" Nada asks, a bit of disbelief trickling into her voice. Her old pack paid little attention to the legends of the sins, treating them more as parables then actual truth. Even though she has met the wolf Aaroein, who carries the sin of sloth, she had no idea that the wolf was a sin. Perhaps it is part of her nature that she is blind to their presence, immune to at least some of their power.

Hubris

"I am the origin of all that is evil in this world but it is you who invites me into your soul
and only you are to blame for your partake of the seven sins." ~ Pride

Pride

__________________________________________________________

Hubris looked to Invidia with a thoughtful glance. She seemed to be voicing her opinions on the matter rather truthfully but even more compelling was that they both seemed to share the same longing "What I may say to you next will be blasphemy to the one who created us." He waited a few moments as he took a seat and looked to the moon overhead. Two black wolves sat under it's haze yet it seemed to deny them of any comfort "Lately I have been thinking, something the master would not look kindly to. I am starting to perceive things of my own accord and this new freedom of thought makes me want to keep it. But, the master whispers in the back of my mind, he takes away my will as if to punish me for I know not what. He bids me to cast my pride to it's fullest and murder those who do not obey him..." Hubris' voice was soft but still deep. His craving to carry out his orders were strong but this new feeling of wanting to think for himself was also playing on his sin. Why couldn't he make his own decisions? Had he not deserved the right? He had served his master faithfully and was the sin that all feared and the last any living creature would see, yet he felt unfulfilled, something that he had never felt before. Hubris felt that he deserved the right to have meaning to his life and whenever he would question his master he would only receive the cooing whisper that his meaning was his sin.

Hubris knew he was just sitting silently next to Invida but the two sins seemed to be the type that thought deeply about life and it's meaning. Why not be apart of it? "Forgive me for my long pause. It seems I got lost in thought again. I believe what I am trying to say is that I want to find meaning to my life. To live for something. If that means killing hope to obtain it or speaking with it to find the truth then so be it." The large brute stood before looking to the single golden eye of Envy "Do you not envy the freedom that the mortal pack has? Do you not long to experience it for yourself Invidia?" He looked to her for a few fleeting moments as ember hued eyes stared deeply into the golden "The sins should come together under one pack. Together we are even far more stronger then I dare say our master is. We will be living with meaning and purpose and we will be the ones to decide our fates...not the master. No more..." The dark brute stood tall near the other sin as he waited for her answer. He had been planning this for quite sometime now. He had watched the mortal pack for weeks and made sure to take in their way of life. Why not do the same? If the sins came together under one pack who would dare try to stop them?

Eden

"If we do not learn to forgive ourselves and accept our sins as apart of who we are
then our very being will be swallowed by the sins we commit." ~ Eden

Sub-Alpha

__________________________________________________________

Eden looked about the pack as the new wolf Nada was speaking with their alpha Ransom. She was gad they could help out the young fea and hoped that the white wolf would feel welcome into their pack. However there was something off about her. She got the feeling that she usually did when she was around Hubris but tried to ignore it and push it off as a form of paranoia. "Perhaps a quick hunt will clear my mind." She spoke softly to herself as Eden padded quickly away from the pack's camp. Night was upon them and the crisp filled air fueled her urge to hunt and kill for her pack. What she didn't expect was the scent of unknown wolves in their territory. If she had a hare for every sin she smelled of late she would have a lot of hares. "How dare these sins act as if they have a right to be here." She growled softly to herself while quieting her paw steps and barely grazing a leaf as she stalked in the underbrush. She was not about to let these sins think they could waltz in here as if they owned the place but she was not blind to the power they possessed. Creeping closer until she heard the familiar voice of Hubris made her fur stand on end and her heart turn cold. She had had far too many encounters then she would like with the sin of Pride but she also did not recognize the form sitting next to him. Although both shared the same dark black fur, their eyes glowed unnaturally of a deep red and passionate gold. She did not know if going up against two sins was wise but what they spoke of scent her to freeze in horror. Eden began to back up slowly as her eyes stayed locked on the two and she felt her anger boil while fear gripped her very soul.

Enemy, familiar friend
My beginning and my end
Broken truth, whispering lies
And it hurts again..

What I fear and what I try,
The words I say and what I hide
All the pain, I want it to end
But I want it again..

And it finds me
The fight inside is coursing through my veins
And it's raging
The fight inside is breaking me again..

Still the same, pursuing pain
Is it worth all that I've gained?
We both know how it will end,
But I'd do it again..
"Nothing and Everything" -- Red
Ketamine
"The tigers of wrath are wiser than the horses of instruction."

A sinful show of emotion crossed the brutes muzzle, lips pulling back to flash the fae the white canines once hidden by his ashen fur. He loved how much he was tormenting the female, it filled him with enjoyment. The forest around the two of them was silent except for their tease exchange of words, all the avians and smaller mammals fleeing after feeling the dark sensation the sin gave off. The two of them were completely.. alone. When she let out a howl, a call for her pack more or less, Ketamine only stared at her with amusement in his gaze. "Oh look, the puppy is calling it's mommy. Can't take the real world, puppy? Well reality says.." He paused, advancing toward the fae a bit more. Wrath needed to be brought into play. Violence from and directed toward him would only fuel his desires to get under the wolves skin, into their brain, and turn friend against friend. He hated them.. these worthless mutts. The land here, it seemed familiar, and just the fact that there was a pack near a more or less likely thriving, it was the perfect time for a little chaos to just stroll on in and take the wheel.

Ketamine stopped a few feet away. If he wanted, he could reach out and grab her maw with his own, or lunge for her jugular, but he didn't. The brute just stood there, eyes looking around. The fur on his neck raised for a moment when the scent of another sin found it's way to his nose, but it was distant and the fur settled once again. He settled his gaze on the she-wolf, before finishing his early statement. ".. That they aren't coming."

Fairwell Chickensmoothie! It was a good run.

If there is anyone who I unfortunately left any loose ends open with when I originally disappeared from the site near the end of 2012, you're welcome to drop a PM if you'd like to try to resolve them. It has admittedly been far too many years for me to remember precisely what all may have been left unsettled.

In addition, if anyone sees this and would like to try to reestablish contact, you're more than welcome to drop me a message as well. I'll try to poke my head in over the next few months at the least in case any of the above happens, but cannot guarantee how often messages will be checked after that.

Best Regards,
HOWLING

"My friend, there is no Evil or Good, just great power, and those too weak to seek it."

☪ ☪ ☪

Invidia blinked several times, fixing her gaze on the large male sin before her. "I have thought along those lines for a while, Hubris. It is clear our master can't stop us if we are all part of eachother. But how can you get the others to agree? That Ketamine, the sin of Wrath, I can tell you he will take persuading. And yet, I can't help but doubt the good of this myself." murmured Invidia, her eyes glowing furiously. A lot of the sins could stroll around and be mistaken for a simple Life-traitor. But Invidia was, and she knew it, unmistakably a dangerous and deadly sin. Those who knew of sins would speak of her as the one who envies a life of freedome. The one that kills and never shows fear. The one who bore the mask of a brutal and gruesome history. Invidia closed her eyes for a dozen seconds, then re-opened them. She fixed her gaze on the ground beneath her paws. Sometimes you could wonder if this wolf was really as deadly as she seemed. However, all those who struck pity on her had never lived to tell the tale.

Startled by thudding of paws, Invidia turned her head. Her gaze didn't flatten, so she wasn't giving any fear. Just suprise that a creature would come so close to vibrate it's footsteps to their distance while knowing the scent of death was close by. Ignoring the pawsteps, Invidia turned back to Hubris to continue speaking after the silence. "As I was saying, Hubris, we can't be sure that this is what we need. What we wish for. What we dream of. Although as a pack we can destroy the wolf of Hope and remove those who are traitors to existence, what good will it do? This order was in the hands of our master. If we decline it and move afar, the master is useless. We will have disobeyed him and showed we do no longer follow and kill by his side." Invidia muttered gently, blinking thoughtfully. "However, the sins were meant to be seperate. As a pack, we could be capable of many things. But we are still all so very different. This is no laugh, Hubris. The sins are so extraudinary when together. Although some seem to fit like you, me and Katamine, what about Sloth and Greed? As a pack, we would brake all defences. We would be wiped out. Wouldn't it be better as a rogue life, where you may not be as powerful, but you can't be torn apart?" Invidia noticed how knowledgable her voice had turned. She shook her head lightly. "But that is just me, Hubris." she concluded.
