So, I just started playing with a new lineart I made in GIMP And a I whipped up a red rat with a white face. Rather than let him go to waste, I re-created his design here.

Anyway, this guy (maybe girl) is up for adoption! I don’t need another rat character, and I just designed this one for fun (and because I couldn't bear to let the design be lost forever) Who wants to adopt?
Don’t just say “I want it”. Give me something to show you’ll take care of him. What’s his name gonna’ be? What’s his personality? Why does he look that way? (it's fine to say "That's just the way he is.")

And most importantly… What will you do with him? Will you use him as a character? Will you role-play with him? Do you want to give him a mate and kids? Will you draw pictures of him (It’s ok if you aren’t a very good artist, just as long as you love him – you can use other rat editables of which there are many - Or just draw what you can!) What would you change about him?
This is not a first come-first serve basis, don't be sloppy.

You don’t have to answer all, of these questions to get him, they’re just something to get you started. The most important one is what you would do with him.

Wow, that was incredibly close, I had such a hard time picking between the great applications, I went back and forth between two of them for the entire day today. But, with the help of my sisters, I finally settled on picking one. Congratulations .Karkat! I'm really sorry to everyone who missed out, believe me, I would give him to more then one of you if I could. But he's not a pie, he's a rat. And .Karkat now has the privilege of giving him a new home.

--> Personality: He is fun-loving a friendly, but also a little shy. Typically very hyper, however, he loves to be with his friends, living every minute like it's his last. Of course, he does watch what he does, keeping track of himself. He does his best to keep his manners and rambunctious nature in check, even if he does get a little wild now and then - a definite party animal.
--> Likes: Fireworks, ice cream, warm summer nights - really everything about summer.
--> Dislikes: Winter, cold temperatures, and not being the center of attention xD
--> Why the looks?: His fur just represents his personality. Bright, kind of crazy, and upbeat. His colors bring a whole new meaning to the wild side, at least for me C:
--> What will you do with him?: He will become a -large- part of my gallery, and will be a bright addition to my character thread {given I ever finish it}. I may use him in an RP, if I find a rat RP -istemptedtostartone-. And, actually... I'm trying to adopt a female rat right now, and if I get her, and this guy, with permission I might mate them C: If I were to change anything, which I probably wouldn't, I would add wings, but that's all.

Basics of Berry

Name: Berry
Personality:
-Brave-
Berry is very brave. He'll do things the other rodents wouldn't think of. He can always be found running and jumping from rocks, attempting to climb trees, or trying to swim in puddles. He loves trying daring things, although he knows when things are too dangerous for him.

-Imaginative-

Berry has a big imagination. He loves to pretend he's a prince trying to rescue a princess, a brave warrior, or a hero. He's very creative and often makes mini 'boats' or bridges out of things he finds in the forest to assist him in his imaginary games. If his friends are away, he can entertain himself easily.

-Adventurous-
Berry is always looking for an adventure. He rarely says no to a chance to go into the forest and explore. He loves the feeling of being in the forest, with all of it's rivers, places to discover and things to find. He's always dreamed of going on a huge, fantastic adventure. (And who knows, he just might get that chance someday!)
-Happy-

Berry is a very happy little rat. He's always cheerful and helpful, rarely in a bad mood. His upbeat, happy attitude attracts friends and he's liked by most.


Looks:
Berry's looks are very unique. He has a white face, chest and tummy, and the rest of his fur is strawberry red. He has light pink on the tips of his paws, and some light pink stripes on his tail. He has shiny green eyes, and he always wears his special, lucky green bandanna.

Why I want him, and what I'll do for him.

What will I do with him: Berry will be extremely loved by me, for sure! I'll shower him with art, and give him a nice spot on my character thread. He'll be one of my favorite characters and he'll have much attention, never just being forgotten. I'd love to be able to draw him, too! He'll even be featured in my signature, I'll be sure to find room for his picture in there <3 I'll even adopt some other rat chars I see so he can have some friends. c: Overall, he'll be a huge part of my gallery and will always be used, and very, very loved.

Will I use him as character: Yep! He'll be a character of mine, and my first rat char. I'll use him for art, and I'll even write a little stories with his background/history or some of his adventures :3 (which I'll post here on CS for you too read, if you'd like!)

Will I role-play him: Possibly. I'm not a big roleplay fan, but if I find a good rat one I might. ^-^
Will I give him a mate and kids: In the future, sure! I'll be sure to find/draw a perfect mate for him when the time comes, and I'll breed them so he can have children.

Will I draw pictures of him: Of course! I'm actually working on my rodent-drawing skills, and he'll be perfect practice. He's so cute, I'll be doodling him all the time. You'll be seeing his face quite a lot on my character thread and Oekaki gallery!

What would I change about him: Design-wise, nothing. He's absolutly adorable how he is already <3
I might add a small accessory or two, but nothing much.

Short Story, how Berry got his fur colour:
There is no special way or amazing story of how Berry's fur colour came to be, really. He was simply born this way, completely different from all of his siblings. Nobody is quite sure how his fur came out so special, so unique. But that's exactly what it makes him, special and unique.

Name: Jasper

Personality:
Joker- He loves to joke a lot and goof off
Affectionate- He is very loving of everyone. He rarely has enemies
Sweet- He loves to compliment people
Playful- He loves to wrestle around with his friends and play tag
Eccentric- He can be pretty weird sometimes, having interest that most others don't
Rambunctious- He's a little ball of energy. He loves to be loud & run all over the place

How he got his coloring(story): Jasper used to be an entirely white rat. He used to live with a scientist, who loved to create strange foods. But not your average strange foods. He added chemicals that shouldn't be in food. But then the food just sat around the house. Jasper had eaten all kinds of food there, but nothing ever happened to him.
One day the scientist was working on a new food, radioactive ice cream. Jasper loved the sound of that, but he knew he shouldn't eat it. The scientist decided to make it strawberry. Jasper licked his lips. Strawberry was his favorite. He had to resist eating it! But he just couldn't! It took the scientist a few days to finish it, then he stuck it in the freezer. Jasper climbed in the freezer with it.
He gnawed through the ice cream container and drank the melted ice cream inside. He drank until the container was empty then crawled up inside the box. Uh-oh, he felt weird. He curled up in a ball and tried not to get sick. It didn't help that he was cold. His tail felt funny. He looked at it and realized it was different. Next his body started to feel funny, he looked at his back, it was...pink! Whoa!
He scurried out of the box and around the freezer when it suddenly opened. He jumped out & ran outside. He saw a mirror in a pile of garbage. He stared at himself in it and admired his new colors. He liked it! He chuckled at himself and saw a little green cloth laying on the ground. He picked it up & tied it around his neck. "Ohhh yea!" he said to himself, "I look cool!"

What I'd do with him: He'd become a very loved character of mine and have a very special place in my heart

Will I draw him?: Most definitely!

What would I change about him?:Nothing at all! He's perfect the way he is!

Name:Jakkron

Personality: Jakkron is a rather sly fellow. He can swindle another rat out of whatever he needs (typically food) with the charm of his exotic coat or his wits and run off long before they realize something's missing, which is advantageous since his bright red fur sticks out like a sore thumb. Though quite possibly one of the most recognizable faces around, Jakkron evades capture with the help of friends who give subtle warnings noticed only by Jakkron when angry victims or authorities are nearby. In exchange for this, Jakkron helps them find food and shelter in the places only he knows how to find. He has a very strong bond with his friends, and considers them the family he never had.

Why the red fur? Red is not Jakkron's natural fur color, but the result from a dye he used long ago. Jakkron's real fur color was white with a sandy brown hood, however he discovered a bottle of red dye while searching a garbage can for food. He got the idea to use the dye as a disguise, dying his fur red whenever he planned tricking a rat out of food and washing it out afterward to prevent anyone from recognizing him. However, the dye had been a failed test a company had not properly disposed of the Jakkron one day found he could not wash the dye off. It turned out the dye, if used excessively, would permanently color the fur. Some of his fur eventually grew out of the dye and back to it's original color, but most of it remained the same candy red.

Why do you want him and What will you do with him?
I want him because I really like his design. It's not overly complicated like some sort of sparkle rat, but the simplicity doesn't take away from it and even though he's an unnatural color it's rather pleasing to the eye, at least to me. I also think he fits rather nicely with my fursona. I also probably wouldn't change anything about his design, I think it's perfect the way it is.

If I got him, I'd probably RP him, and perhaps expand on the story of him and his little group (which will probably be made up of him, my fursona, and maybe even other people's rat characters if my friends happen to have some). It seems like it would be a fun thing to write about. I don't draw very often, but I'd probably draw some pictures of him or at the least color in some editables. I also love ordering art from other people so I'll most likely do that too. So in general, if I do manage to get the little guy there's no doubt I have a few things planned for him.
