She was mad because you were mad --;
She said that because as you can see, it took her a long time to make it. She didn't really mean it, she would have still loved it dearly if nobody had told her about the dark colours thing. I bet she's just aggitated because it took a while, and she wanted to keep it, and was satisfied with it-

Maybe we should ask Hiccup. I love this design, I really dont wanna mess it up. I swear I didnt see the note about that...
