What a colourful cat, careful not to look too long or you may go blind XD Originally this was going to be an auction, but i really wanted to see what different stories everyone could come up with for this char ^.^.This is a FREE adoption, all you have to do is fill out the form below to the best of your ability and at the end of the designated time period the best form in my opinion wins the character ^.^ (and seeing as this is 'Bright is Better' lets see a little colour on those forms )

Story:
Years after the destruction of the Rain Forest, odd colored animals started appearing. They were all supposded to be extinct, like the Rain Forest. Only about a hundred had been found...

A reasurcher by the name of Aliza was out taking samples for a reasurch project. As she gathered her things and prepared to leave, she heard a rustle in the bushes behind her. She turned her head to see a small cat-like creature crawl out. It was about 3 weeks old she could tell because it was still blind. On closer inspection, she relized it was not normal and knew it must be one of the odd colored jungle-dwelers that diedout so long ago. She gentaly picked it up and held it close. The cat began to purr. She smiled and carried it back with her.
Aliza dared not show the cub to anyone. It got harder with every passing week. Once the cub was weened and roming around, she took it home. There, it did even more damage.

Personality:Vida is calm but completely feral, making her a dangerous enemy immediantly. While she is bright colored she still hides relatively easily, using every inch of tree to hide her. She is always willing to fight and yet always willing to stop one. She doesn't believe in fighting for no reason, but fighting for territory does not pass over her head.
Why do you wan this character?:I love how she looks! And I never really had a big cat character, though I have made many... Just don't keep them, mostly because they are pretty plain, or don't fit my personality.

Story: Vida had been born nomral colored, actually a beautiful black that sparkled blue in the sun. Her spots and color didn't show until she was about 4 months, which promotly got her left behind. She immediantly began to work endlessly on surviving, learning how to hunt by catching mice before moving onto larger targets. While she was learning she also learned that her colors gave her away so she began to use the trees for cover, dropping down onto her prey instead of stalking up to them. She learned quickly, and worked on running, hiding and climbing the most. As she grew and worked to survive she became bigger, stronger, and in some ways, meaner. Yet she kept a calm kind side to her, though it was almost always hidden. She promised herself to never let her gaurd down, and not to blame her family for her forced lifestyle.

I shall be using her here on CS. She will be posted on my character thread, and most likely in my signature. I would also use her in my stories, which I love to write.

I have wanted a BiB adoptable since they first started. Sadly, I don't have the pets to win bids, so I have watched solemly as others recieved their lovely adoptables. I love most of the adoptables, as they are all (of course) so brightly colored, and it makes me happy to see them, even when they don't belong to me.
I was looking through the "Created Pets" forum, when I saw this lovely Jaguar. I immediately thought that, her being so gorgeous, she would be an auction, so I almost passed her by.
For some reason, though, I decided to click the link and take a closer look, even though I knew I wouldn't be able to have her. I figured it wouldn't hurt to admire her lovely pattern and colors.
Then I saw that she wasn't an auction - and that I could apply for her! I was so excited, because I feel that I can develope her into a wonderful character, and I would just be joy-filled to shower her with love.

{ p e r s o n a l i t y }
Broken Dreams isn't like every other Jaguar. She's different, in ways that few could imagine.
She's social. She likes to sit and sing with the birds, talk with the monkeys, hunt with the eagles.
But Jaguars aren't social. They don't sing, much less with birds. They don't talk much; especially with monkeys. And they hunt alone, never with an eagle.
They taunt her, constantly. Because of her bright coat, the one that's so unusual, so different from the others'. But she doesn't care, or at least she doesn't show it. She thiks it's hopeless. She'll never find friends among her species, much less a mate.
Yes, a mate. She dreams of having someone who loves her exactly the way she is, someone who doesn't care that she's different from the others. But that'll never happen. She knows this.
She is stong-minded. She's confident, and smart. More things that they taunt her about. But she ignores them, or tries to. She knows that it causes more problems than it solves when she fights back.


{ s t o r y }
Broken Dreams padded along the forest floor, her paws making only a whisper of sound against the fallen leaves on the soft, damp ground. A monkey howled, and she stopped to listen.
The forest was unusually quiet today. Where she usually heard moneys chattering, the screetch of a Harpy Eagle, the buzz of the insects, there was nothing. The monkey had stopped howling, and the birds weren't even singing.
Something wasn't right. The forest should be a chaotic ocean of sounds and smells, yet there was nothing. She leaped up into a tree, climbing fast, her excitement for the day replaced with a tingling sensation, one that was like fear, yet not.
She turned, jumping into the next tree, it's large trunk covered in vines and moss. She landed on a high branch, and she peered out.
She was near the river. Where it was usually fast, flowing, and crowded with animals, both hunters and the hunted in a mutual peace, it was now silent. The water moved slow, like oil, and no other animals were to be seen. Even the crocodiles' eyes weren't poking out of the muddy water.
She turned the other way, looking into the deep canopy. Lately, the rains had been so harsh and heavy that they had broken the leaves, and flooded the forest floor.
This had disturbed her. It was not the way it should be. The floor was never suppoed to have rain pummel it. That was the job of the tall trees and their leaves. The fact that the rain was so harsh, the wind so strong, that it broke through the heavy, dense leaves meant there was something wrong. It was an omen.
She nearly jumped out of her skin as something wet plopped onto her pelt. She turned, snarling, to see that it was only a droplet of rain.
She leaped down from the branch, sailing gracefully to the damp ground. The rain was a light sprinkling, and she looked up at the sky, trying not to flinch as the now-large droplets hit her face, seeping into her fur.
She shook herself, then began padding home. The rain began to fall heavier, now a heavy drizzle. She growled softly in annoyance as she felt her newly cleaned pelt begin to sag with the weight of the water.
She stopped as she came upon a large tree, larger than the others around her. She jumped, then began to leap from branch to branch, climbing higher and higher up the tall, vast tree. Her sharp claws dug into the soft, moist bark, and she had to work to keep herself from falling into the river below. Her pelt became heavier as the rain fell harder and harder. Her bright colors seemed to drip out of her fur, sagging to her sides. She grunted out of effort as she strained to grip the next branch.
She let out a sigh of relief as she pulled herself up, and turned to the bamboo treehouse built into the tree.
She had found it years ago, right after her mother had died. She had watched it for weeks, waiting for the humans she knew had built it to return.
But they never did.
So she took the place as her own, learning about the strange technology and other things the humans had left behind.
Curious, she had asked to crocodiles where the humans had gone. The crocs replied that they had eaten them a long time ago.
She gripped the doorknob with her teeth, moving her head in circular motions to open the bamboo door.
The door swung open, and the lights flared. She stepped inside, and shook. The water flew from her bright fur, splattering onto the walls.
She looked around in satisfaction, happy that her fur was light and near dry again. She hated the rain. It was meant to be on the top layer of the forest, not down on the ground. It was highly disturbing that the rain was falling so heavily on the ground. Usually they would get a few centimeters a year, but this much? Never before.
She padded grimly through the house, walking into a room with a large down bed. She leaped onto it, retrackting her claws as so not to ruin it. She lay down, kneading the bed. She loved how soft and comfortable the bed was; it had helped her sleeping a great deal since she came to the treehouse.
Her stomach grumbled just as she became comfortable. She stood up, curling her lips in annoyance. Broken Dreams hadn't been able to eat much lately because of the rain. It scared all the prey into their homes, leaving her hungry.
She stalked into the kitchen. Since she had come here, she had made sure to keep some amount of food in the kitchen. She had stretched out the food the humans had left behind, and it still fed her when she couldn't hunt.
She jumped up onto the counters, hooking her claw around the cabinet door. She pulled it open, and looked at what she had.
She had the dried meat that was hard to chew; she had some crunchy things that got stuck in her teeth; and she had some squshy worm-looking things in a plastic bag.
She chose the meat, and took two strips. She carried them to the couch, where she lay down, and began to chew them, one at a time.
The flavor flooded into her mouth as she bit down on the first one. She savored the in her mouth, an array of different meats. It was sweet, yet sour, and she savored it. If she were any other Jaguar, she would have scarfed down the strips of dried meat. But she wasn't any other jaguar; she was Broekn Dreams. Not Iaku, or Leelan. She was Broken Dreams.
She slowly ate the meat, closing her eyes in pleasure with each bite, until she heard a tap on her door.
She grumbled, then stood up. She padded over to the door, looking through the tiny glass hole at the top of it. She saw a small orange monkey, and she grinned, opening the door.
The Tamarin swung in, his orange body soakng wet. His white whiskers dripped rainwater, and Broken Dreams shook her head.
"Imar, go dry off!" she told him, scolding. The monkey hooted, then went into the bathroom. He grabbed a towel, and began rubbing himself dry.
When he was finished, he sat himself on the couch.
"How ya doin', Dreams?" he asked, looking around the treehouse. "It looks nice now. I remember when you first found it; a mess, it was." he smiled at her.
Broken Dreams smiled. "I'm doing good, Imar. And yes, I do remember." she shook her head. "It was terrible! Now, tell me what you've been up to," she leaped up onto the couch next to him.
He sighed. "Same old, same old. Hey, what ever happened with that Daiichi guy, hm? He sure was cute." He winked at her, and she blushed.
"Well, ummm......." there was a long pause. "Yeah. That's it." She said, nervous.
He gave her a look. "What happened, Dreams?" he asked her.
She sighed. "He....I don't know. It's complicated. I like him and all, but I just don't think that he gets it. I'm just a pretty face, is all. He just wants the pride of having a beautiful mate." She looked down at her paws. "I just wish.....someone would love me for who I am."
He frowned, then said; "Someone will, honey. You've just gotta be patient." Imar smiled encourageingly.
She nodded. "You're right. In the meantime....How bad is it outside?"
"It's raining, but not as much as before. Hey, I gotta run. Estellata is probably waking up now." He swung to the door, his long tail gripping to doorknob. "See ya later, Jaguar-gator!" He said, thne was gone.
"See you later!" she called after him as the door swung shut.
She placed her head on her paws, closing her eyes. She slept for a few hours, peacefully for once. She dreamt nothing, nothing but endless sleep.
Until she heard a large crash.
She raised her head, twitching her ears, listening. There was a grunt, seemingly male. She jumped silently off the couch, her pawsteps making no sound on the bamboo floor as she walked towards the sound cautiously.
It was in the kitchen. She peeked around the corner, seeing a large male Jaguar. His coat was a glossy, brilliant gold, and his spots were shiny, jt black. He was quite handsome, no matter the array of jungle cursewords that flowed from his perfect mouth.
She shook her head, clearing it. She leaped around the corner, snarling. "Who are you, and what do you want?" she said, baring her long, sharp teeth.
He stared at her for a moment, no doubt trying to decifer her colorful coat. Then he chuckled. "Settle down, girl." he said, half growl, half chuckle. He looked up a the hole in the roof. He swore. "Now, where can I hide? They're gonna look for me, but I can't let you say anything." he smiled, dazzling her for a moment, before she launched herself at him.
"What are you doing in my house? You ruined the roof! And you're gonna fix it," she snarled, snapping her fangs inches from his face.
He barely blinked. "Look, Colorful, I have to hide. And you have to come with me." He grabbed her, dragging her to the bedroom. He took her into the closet, clamping a large paw over her face. She struggled, trying to bite his paw. He gave her a silencing look, and she stopped.
A large crackle came from the kitchen, and it was unlike anything she'd ever heard before. It was a buzz, one that fuzzed her brain, making her unable to think straight.
The buzz grew louder, and suddenly the doors burst open. A bright light streamed in, and she screamed. The male had disappeared, andan alien-like thing scrambled in. It grinned as it saw her, and reached for her........
She woke up, screaming.
She panted loudly, trying to calm herself. It wasn't real, it wasn't real, it wasn't real, she chanted to her self. It had only been a dream.
She shook her head. Well, so much for sleep.

What can I say? I promised myself I was done, I didn't need any other characters, didn't really have a place for one....and then I saw him. Don't ask me what compelled me to do this.....love at first sight I suppose? I just totally fell in love with him, plus I came up with a totally amazing story for him, one that ties in with Adabelle and the story I'm working on with her. That and he's so...colourful and yet almost dark in a way...its like....subtle beauty, and that immediately appealed to me. Not to mention the fact that I'm an obsessive big cat lover....so seeing a jaguar up for adoption had me running, shrieking, around my room in a crazy fit of joy...yes, it was funny to see. He also has a very attractive set of items, frankly the entire desire just flows so well that I can't help but adore him.
