Ooh, I would love her as an older sister to my little Iolite!
Name: Kunzi (short for kunzite, a pink gem), pronounced "coon-zee"
Age: Adult
Size: Great Dane-sized...? I can change it if necessary.
Favorite foods: Strawberries, golden delicious apples, squash, various types of beetles.
Favorite season: Autumn, for the amount of fruit available!
Personality: Truly a sweet Jelly Bean Dragon, she tries her best to be the responsible older sister to Iolite. However, the last thing she wants to do is remind the young JBD for
yet another time that it's a rather bad idea to tickle a grizzly bear. Sometimes, Iolite really pushes her buttons and she's banished to Kunzi's pouch until she says so. She feels responsible for Iolite ever since they lost their parents; Iolite was only an egg, so she has no memory of a parent other than Kunzi. Kunzi likes her quiet time (away from Iolite) as well as chasing dragonflies. To catch and eat one would make her day!
Story: The night was swiftly falling and Kunzi sat motionless at the entrance to her den. The sun had set hours ago and still her parents had not returned from their food gathering quest. Fear had been growing in her heart and as the final rays of the sun disappeared from the horizon, sadness filled her pale pink eyes. She turned back to go into the den and the faint light flashed briefly over her peach-colored fur and brown wing-like markings on her back. There was nothing left to do but try and keep the little blue egg that was her little sibling warm through the night and forgo dinner for a scrounged breakfast tomorrow morning. Shivering in emotion, Kunzi nudged the vaguely-translucent egg and felt a faint vibrating response from within. Her sibling would hatch soon and she would have to be "mother".
"Mother..." the older JBD murmured to herself, a catch in her voice as she picked up the egg from its downy nest. Carefully placing it within her pouch to allow it access to body heat, she curled up within the fluffy fur and pulled her tail over her face. She reminded herself, like her father always said, that tomorrow was another day. Perhaps her parents would be back. Perhaps not. "It'll be okay though..." she whispered, feeling her little sibling move within its egg.
