Raindancer's story. HOW HE GOT AN OWNER.
~~~~~
"Mama? Papa? Where are you?!" a squeaky voice called into the night.
The little voice was a Jellybean Dragon, that lost his parents. He was huddled in a little corner of a cave, where no predetor could get him.
"Maaamaaaa! Paaapaaa!" he wailed.
He was only six, and his caring parents were gone. Forever.
That day they said they were going foraging for jellybeans, and five minutes later he heard their shrieks for help. He heard a voice, soft and gentle, that said 'Hide were they can't get you,' and the shrieking stopped. His parents were dead.
There was a noise at the entrance of the cave. The nameless dragon just decided to sleep until he could sleep no more.
~~~~~
"Wake up boy! I say, wake up!"
The nameless JBD squimed undeer the paws of an old one.
"W-Wh-who are y-you?" he said shakily and sleepily.
"Walter's the name and roaming's my game!" Walter said cheerfully. He got off the little one and sat in front of him. From behind, Walter had a tailful of jellybeans!
"All for you my boy," he said pushing them towards the dragon. "What is your name?"
"I don't have one sir," the nameless JBD said through a mouthful of jellybeans.
"Well you can have one now!"
"What? I mean, pardon?"
"You can have a name now. You need one for sure."
"Errr, ok?"
"Your name is.....ummmmm, Raindancer! Yes Raindancer that's it."
"Wow," Raindancer said, and got to know Walter a bit more.
~~~~~
So the next day Raindancer set off on a journey. Walter had said he was getting old, so he couldn't travel to the land of happiness. He hasd also said that's where you could get an owner and they would love and care for you. Raindancer knew that was his chance to be loved again, like he was before his parents had died. He knew he had to go north, it was just a random instinct. After a full day of flying and walking, eating and avoiding predetors, Raindancer found a hollow in a willow tree, and fell into a deep, deep sleep. He dreamed of lands full of jellybeans and nice humans, dancing around campfires while riding larger JBDs and petting smaller ones.
~~~~~
"Karrrrk! Charlie wants an apple! Karrrk!"
"Ehhhh? Who are you?"
Raindancer woke up to find a rainbow coloured bird looking at him and shouting in his ears.
"Karrrk! I'm Charlie," the bird said in a parrot voice, "And who are
you?"
"I'm Raindancer, nice to meet you Chhaaaarrrrlliiiieeee," Raindancer said through a yawn.
Over the day, Raindancer and Charlie became great friends. Charlie taught Raindancer how to climg the willow which was his home, and Raindancer showed Charlie what jellybeans tasted like.
After 4 days, Raindancer knew he had to find the Land of Happiness, and explained to Charlie again why he had to leave. They said their farewells, at a stream, and went their seperate ways.
~~~~~
The journey was long and tough. It took around a month for Raindancer to get to a human town. They all looked at him weirdly and shooed him away from their homes. If this was like all humans were, Raindancer did
not like it. He eventually got to the other side of town, when he heard a familier voice behind him.
"Kaaarrrrk! Charlie wants Raindancer! Kaarrrrk!"
It was Charlie! He had come to keep Raindancer company, because they both grew very lonely.
One night, after Raindancer found some jellybean stalks (little vines that grow jellybeans) he knew he had to be close to the Land of Happiness. Charlie and Raindancer camped out next to the stalk, and had happy dreams all night.
~~~~~
"Raindancer? Is it really you?"
Raindancer heard the soft voice of his mother.
"Mother?! Father?! It's really you!"
"Raindancer, darling, you are very close to the Land of Happiness. We have come here to tell you, there will be an enclosure with every JBD in there that needs to be adopted. Many humans will try out for you, but one will get you. I know you have traveled far, so well done and you will love your new owner..." she whispered and started to fade away with his father.
Raindancer woke up quickly, looking around for his parents. It was all a dream, but where they actually in the dream? It was daylight, and Charlie was starting to stir. Raindancer looked around. There was a sign on that hill over there, that said 'The JBD Land of Happiness!' in huge writing and 'Jellybean dragon adoption centre' in small writing at the bottom.
"Charlie! We made it!"
"Karrrk! YAY!"
The two friends sprinted up the hill and went inside. Charlie got an owner called 'Kate' and she cared for him very well, because he wasn't a JBD she agreed to look after him.*
Raindancer looked at the forms for adopting him. One person was called Iownfish. Another called Mackimo. And also someone named NotMe. They were all amazing forms so Raindancer didn't care who he got.
The two friends, then lived happily ever after with their owners.

*in the last chapter. I have a friend that lives up the street with a rainbow lorikeet called Charlie and her name is Kate. Charlie does actually say Charlie wants an apple in real life. I haven't put her last name for obvious reasons.
