There is a tale, passed mouth to mouth, ear to ear. The tale states that deep in the rich forests far away from here, there is a horse. This horse, it possesses a certain magic. This horse, it is the keeper of all things good and evil. All things black and white. This horse, it is black and white, it is a combination of your worst nightmare and your wildest dream. This horse, it does evil. It strikes fear and despair into the heart of every man foolish enough to cross it. This horse, it comes from hell.

Legend says, that this horse has spent it's life on the dark side.

[From Liam's perspective]
There's times where being an animal is not a good thing. This is one of those times. Possibly. They believe I'm a normal horse. This is where they are wrong, and this is where I have the advantage. I may seem friendly, sure, and maybe I am, but I do have this dark side that is emerging, right at this very moment. It is not their decision to decide. I am not going down now. Not now. Not here.
So I shed my skin, out of a normal horse's, and into my natural form. I'm black and white, and nothing is ever truly that way. I shriek loudly, and the humans stumble backwards, falling into the mess of their minds. A few of their firecrackers go off, but I am untouchable. I am their wildest dreams and their worst nightmares, combined into one. They have no idea what to think, what to do. Except for one, who is untouched by my trance. He takes careful aim, the holder of his firecracker aimed at my heart. I feel a pang of fear, and I shriek again, thinking that maybe, just maybe, I will be able to shatter his firecracker before it touches me. No such luck, so I twist into the air, my wings finding purchase there. He shoots his firecracker at me, and it just barely misses my horn. My horn! Why didn't I think of using that earlier? No matter. I have not crossed the boundary to the "other side", or the "pearly gates", as the humans call it. This is how we are alike, our fear of death. But there are black sheep everywhere, and I believe I just met one.
It hits me once I'm higher than any bird can ever reach. I almost died. It was almost over. Almost. Doesn't that make me godly? The sensible bit of me shakes this off, and stumbles out of the chains I've locked it in. No, it does not. It makes me lucky. Luckier than the winner of the Mega Millions.
Why did the firecracker miss? I cannot figure this out. It does not cross my mind that the human may have missed. What crosses my mind is something more unlikely, that I was granted a second chance by the keeper of the pearly gates. This makes me special? No. Sensible me argues with the unsensible bit of me sitting on a throne. It doesn't. Sensible me is right. I've been bad. And it's up to me to make it right. It's up to me to make good of the clean slate, the second chance, that I have been given. It's my choice. And sometimes, the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.

Also, Liam's favorite song is "No Boundaries", by Adam Lambert. I listened to it the entire time I wrote his story, and I kind of associate the song with him now. My friend turned me on to the song. It's also sort of inspired by "If Today Was Your Last Day", by Nickelback. I hope this isn't too bad. Anyways, it was kind of fun to write, espeically the legend stuff. x3

Oh, no problem. He's beautiful. I've been trying to get a charrie, particularly a horse for a while. I hope to get this guy's story up soon, I'm just out of muse at the moment. :d
