Luckily, one day a little boy walked past the man's home, and saw his raise a metal baseball bat into the air, and pound as hard as he could. *THONK* He heard a yowl and a whimper, and he ran home as fast as he could. He told his mother what he had witnessed, and she called the police. The man was arrested and put into jail for animal abuse. That is why she is so shy, and has so much trouble accepting new people into her life.

history;; She was very young when her master's young let her out for a walk and she was frightened by a car honking it's horn. She ran across the street and was hit by a car. She lay by the curb for a day before she picked herself up and limped away to find shelter. She lay under a bush near the curb for three days and was found by an old man. The old man had never seen a goop monster before and was frightened by April. He put her in a box and took her to the pound where they threw her in a crate and were cruel to her. She wishes someone will be kind enough to rescue her...

personality;;Small and petite, Acantha was always shy. She loves birds, flowers, butterflys and ladybugs. Her favourite flower is a rose. She is gentle and sweet. She is afraid of water and hates planes. Lightning and thunder also scare her. Loud noises make her cower and hide but overall she is a very joyous goop monster. She loves everyone and everything. She can get moody sometimes but tries to stop herself from losing it. Sometimes she can get a bit jealous of others but knows she is special and gets the best.

history;;Acantha padded quietly around the streets. She didn't wanted to risk being found. She lowered her head and walked down an alley way. There she found a bin. She tipped it over and peaked inside. Her memory was so blank. All she remembered was being on a mountain with a human. Then the human pushed her and she went tumbling down. That was all she could remember. She wasn't even sure if it was a memory or a theory. She shook her head and tried to find her favourite food, lamingtons. There in the very bottom was a lamington. Fairly new too. She dragged it out of the dumpster and ate it happily. She was thrilled to have found one. She had spent ages searching for a lamington. Lights flicked on in the windows of the apartments above. Acantha shuddered and leapt onto another dumpster. From their she leapt over the fence and dashed off across the park. She heard cars speeding past and then a torch shining onto her. She shut her eyes and heard barking. Somebody was coming.
"Gotcha!" the person said as they scooped Acantha up in a net. She struggled to go free but they didn't let her. She whimpered loudly and opened her eyes. She swayed from side to side in the net. Then the boot of a car opened and she was put into the cage. She fell to the ground and stayed still, covering her face with her paws. She licked at the goop sadly until she got to the pound. There the man took her out again and placed her in yet another net. He took her through the doors and to the very back. She sobbed quietly, knowing she wouldn't be getting out. He threw her int othe cage and laughed. He then locked the cage and put a sign up. It was her to be put down sign. She whimpered and shook her head, laying down to sleep. Morning came as the light seaped through the windows. She had lasted one night and she was hoping to last more. Tears tricked in her eyes as she stood in her cage. She could hear a voice. Not the cruel man who had captured her but a sweet, gentle, joyous voice. A girl voice. She howled loudly, hoping she would be released. The man came in through the doors with the girl. She smiled and flicked her hair out of her face. She paced the room, looking into the cages. She stopped suddenly and stared at Acantha. She grinned and put her hand into the cage. Acantha licked her hand, grinning slightly.
"This one is perfect!" the girl said as the man came over and unlocked the cage.
He raised Acantha up and placed her on the ground, slipping a lead around her neck.
"Her name will be Acantha!" she laughed, petting the goop monster.
"Your lucky that we're giving her to you," the man rolled his eyes.
"Why?" the girl asked.
"She was getting put down!" the man said.
The girl grabbed the leash off the man and chucked the money at him. She then walked out the doors, Acantha trotting happily next to her.
