Equid Age: 2
Story: It was storming when she was born. Her mother couldn't keep up with the stallions group, so he made them stop. The other three stallions circled around the clearing, making sure the group of kidnapped, in-foal mares couldn't escape and try to reach their home. After all, the stallions needed foals to start the group out right.
And soon whe was there. Lieing on the ground, shivering in the rain. As the drops poured down like little bullets or tears from God, the stallions began to nip at the mother. They drove the two away, but she fought back with all her might. She kicked, squeeled, and hoped her baby wouldn't be injured. Mothers instinct was her only chance.
---
All the poor little filly could hear was the sound of rain hitting packed dirt, or was that the pounding of the others hooves as they left her mothers body in the dirt? She didn't know, she was too young to be without a mother. But that was when the bushes russled. The filly looked up, and even with her crossed eyes she could see a black stallion. The stud seemed disgusted by the body, yet even more apauled by the grubby palamino filly on the ground, bleeding slightly in the flank from the thornbush she backed into trying to escape.
The stallion bent down, swished his tail, and snorted towards her. A white cloud of lonlieness blew into the fillys face as the stallion trotted off, leaving the her to die. But in the stallions wake, a human came. The woman had a gentle touch, a nice warm bottle of milk, and a loose lasso that she draped around the neck. She led the foal slowly through the woods untill the two came into a little barn, empty except for the black stallion and a little mare. That was when she noticed the scars. She ignored them at first, hoping they came from old homes. But as the recently captured filly soon realised, she didn't want to be in this barn.
The small food supply drained quickly. Each time one of the cows outside died, or the lady lost a lotery ticket, or anything bad happened the lady would take the whip and beat the equids mercilessly. She fed them once every few days, if that, and never cleaned out the barn.
One day, the mare had the foal she was due to have, and died when it came the wrong way. The bodies began to slowly rot, and even when the lady entered to beat the stallion and filly she didn't mess with the body. One day, when she was sprinkling little food pellets into the snow, the filly looked at her with a questioning eye. "Fine, Zorva," said the lady. So she hooked a harness to both the female, the stallion, and the body, conecting them together. Walking between the two live ones, she whipped them repeatedly, not allowing them to go anywhere and yanking hard on the bridles for turns. Of coarse, the woman had helped a little, pulling a rope herself, but the body of the starved and decomposing mare didn't weigh much anyways.
But that didn't stop the female from escaping.
Zorva kicked with all her might. She was whipped repeatedly in the process. But then teh rope snapped. Zorva took off, a broken harness wrapped around her. On her little trip to town, she was picked up by a nice group of people who helped heal her.

Equid Name: Stelske
Equid Age: Four
Story:

On a wet and cold Tuesday morning, when we saw the face looking back at them in the window of their Old Pine Trail townhome they were tramatized.
It was a 4- year-old Equid, Stelske. But the giant fluffball out and free the night before was barely recognizable.
Despite the fact the equid was soaking wet, and the tawny fur on her face and his long patches of fur were missing.
I went and grabbed a towel, wrapped her up, and brought her inside.
That's when I started to piece together their pet's horrific ordeal.
I thought he was freezing because he was soaking wet, then we picked her up and I realized he was soaked in gasoline.
Stelske had been set on fire. Her hooves had been damaged. She had cuts on her brow. Her ears were singed and what was left of her fur was brittle.
She was rushed to a care center, where she was taken care of and brought here.
Now Starske has a chance at a better life.
{This was actually a more true story about a cat in my neighborhood...sad really...}

Equid Name: Hope
Equid Age: 2 and a half
Story: Hope was born on a very cold day in December. There was a blizzard going on as she was being born. Her mom tried very hard to keep her warm once she was on the ground. But it was impossible. When she saw some people in the distance she had fought for her baby but to no avail. The people had taken her and her baby to a center for horses. But these were not nice people. They abused and neglected the mom until she passed away due to terrible injuries. Because she passed away after only a few months of giving birth Hope would need milk. But the people insisted on her just drinking water. She didn't get enough nutrients right from the get go so she would be prone to sickness along her life. When she got older the people became harsher. They would start working her everyday to the brink of exhaustion. Many days they would whip her for not doing something right. She would go to bed with tears because of her injuries that would cause her so much pain. One day she hatched a plan. When they were working her, she collapsed on her side. The people became scared that they would not find another like her. They took her to a clinic but on the way there she escaped out of the back of the trailer since they hadn't latched it all the way. She ran and ran for days but found no others of her kind. When she had just about given up and was close to death from exhaustion, starvation, and dehydration she found one other. That other WME took her to the herd. But she was in bad condition. She slept for days. Most of the foals were scared of her even though she was only a year older. Her coat was in terrible condition with her ribs showing. Her wounds still bled if she moved. She would lay down for days trying to regain her strength and only got up to stretch her legs and during that time she would get water and food. Her healing process is slow. But by the time she turns three she is hoping to be able to run and play with others her age.

((Wow fingers hurt XD This is the first I'm applying for by the way. :D ))

that the sea is a friend made enemy
Every shipwrecked soul
knows what it is to live without intimacy
I thought I heard the captains voice
but its hard to listen while you preach
Like every broken wave on the shore
this is as far as I could reach

Story: It was a rainy morning, i was standing in the middle of the cold rain. I closed my eyes hoping that everybad thing would just disapeer. While my eyes were closed i heared a growl behind me, I jumped up and started to run away, i was doing good until i triped over a fallen log. I thought i was going to die , lying there in the soacking rain. I prepared for the worst as the wolves drew closer to me. I saw a black figure jump over the log and to the wolves, the creature reared and struck the wolves with its front hooves. After they left the creature came over to me and nickered softly. I stood up, but instantly fell down again, I looked down to see my left front hoof bleeding badly. I looked up to see that the black creature was an equid. He lied down beside me comforting me and trying to block the rain. Night came and the cold rain turned into hail and pelted my and (whos name i recently learned) Hunter. We fell asleep and woke up in the morning to see the sun shining and no rain. My hoof felt better so Hunter and I started to travel together. Months past and i found myself falling in love with Hunter and all was good until that day. The day when the humans came. It was just starting to snow, me and Hunter were in a cave, we heared a rustle outside and Hunter went to investigate. I heared him whinneying and hummans shouting but i never went outside. I thought he would come back to the cave after but he never did. I was alone again. Since that dreadful day i was getting weaker and weaker, until i thought i was gonna die. When i was lying down humans came and took me to a place where they promised i would get better. But with the memory of Hunter i would never get better.

Story:For poachers, rhino horn aren't very "in " right now in the black market, they wanted to go farther, with something that would be priceless. An equid's tail and mane hair. So rare, it would be worth a fortune. So 3 poachers get into their helicopter, scanning the plains for equids. They traveled hours and hours and when they were about to put away their rifles, a bright palomino equid appears. It's Probably strayed from its herd. They take the the chance and shot. Luckily for the Equid, and her more sensitive ears, she heard the poachers and sprinted for dear life. Her heart thudded, she's never been so scared. The poachers, too hungry for money kept on her tail, when. She falls crashing to the ground. One of the poachers shot her in the leg. She couldn't get up, blood welled on her hind leg. She tried and miserably to get up, but the poachers, now on the ground ran towards her with ropes. They tied her front hooves together, made rope halter, and blind folder on her. She kicked violently with her last good back leg, when the other poacher tied her back hooves together, so with every kick, she screamed in agony. The last of the poachers had the shaver and shaved some of the mane off and put it in a little bag. But this Equid was smart and laid very still, and the poachers mistaken her to be dead. One of them screamed angrily at the other two. Finally once they had enough of the mane and tail that they could carry, they left her. Lying on the now red tinted grass, all her legs tied, muzzled, blindfolded, and uncared for of her injury they inflicted. Until one day, Horsey1050 and Canis Love found her, near death from blood loss, starvation, and dehydration. And that's how she came here, she's now fully fed, and her mane and tail hair grew back. She was well enough to be adopted out.

I have a bet that you are sooooo going to win this equid! That is such a sad story!! If I could, and If I was that black stallion, I'd turn around and take the whip and bash her in the face! That lady is mean!!
