I am looking to adopt...

Kennel number: F54
Why do you want this animal:
Every time I hear Smilis have been donated, I head straight for the Smili thread to see them. At first, I couldn't see this girl, the one I'd name Amaterasu, because my computer would only show the other two. I wasn't particularly hooked on either F55 or F56, and therefore left. However, once I got to this thread to look for their numbers so I could read the forms, I saw another Smili, Amaterasu. Her colours are beautiful, soft fawn colours coupled with white and soft blue.
She truly looks like a goddess.
What will you do for it?:
If I were to be lucky enough to win Amaterasu, first of all I would squee loudly and write hysterical text messages to my friends, and then I would sit down on my sofa and draw. Smilis are wonderful art muses for me, you should see the folder full of drawings I have of Reneci. [A purple Casmera Smili I won... I think it was nigh on exactly a year ago now, because I went on holiday and when I came back I'd won her... So it's hopefully a case of déjà vu!]
Anyway, Amaterasu, along with Ren, would be my artist muse for drawing Smili, and hopefully help me become good enough to open a Smili-drawing art shop where Smili owners can order art! Naturally, this means I will be drawing her a lot. Also, I would use her in a story I'm writing where I would have her and Reneci as enemies, because they seem like they'd be good as opponents, like darkness and light... Not that I've decided which would be which yet.

Preferred nickname: Taiyoko
Name: 天照 (Amaterasu)
Pronunciation of name: A-ma-te-ra-su
Meaning behind name: 'shining over heaven/she who illuminates heaven'
Origin of name: Ancient Japanese name of the sun goddess and ruler of the heavens.
'And as the sun rose, so was she brought into this world, bathed in it's golden rays like the goddess herself walked amongst us. Amaterasu.'
______________________________________________
Species: Smili
Subspecies: Common
Place of birth: Daisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaido, Japan
'North of the Sunrise, yet shines just as bright. Amaterasu.'
--------------------------------------------------------------
Personality:
Amaterasu has always been almost worshipped by the Smili of her birth tribe, but that doesn't mean she likes it. In fact, this has just led to her bizarre mix of hatred towards other Smili and a desire to mystify. At first, she often appeared on the outskirts of small villages, just standing and watching. Waiting to be noticed, but vanishing before they did.
Then it got dangerous. Amaterasu realised the best way to satisfy both her main emotions was to live alone, preying on the Smili of other tribes....
She's often been described as....
Sociopathic
“Killing other Smili is wrong? Is it? Surely no restrictions like that apply to me? I'm not part of their society anyway... Don't you see? It's my way of showing them what I have become. A true goddess! Easily better than my namesake! Besides, it's not like I particularly care about my species anyway...”
Having an inferiority complex
“Always… They fawn over me like a blessed statue, then leave to get on with their lives. I see cubs play fighting nearby, but no-one dares fight me, Amaterasu, for fear of damaging their luck. Am I so much lower than them that all I’m worthy of is to be fawned over all day? I will show them what I’m capable of. They call me Choko, Amako, Taiyoko to my face, Child of the Dawn, of Heaven, of the Sun, but I hear them whisper behind my back. They call me Amaterasu. I will make them fear me."
Often feeling a strong desire to live up to her name
"Sun goddess, heaven goddess, pah! They worship her for what reason? They expect so much from me, the chosen of a goddess, but I deliver little. I see their frowns. Why has our good fortune deserted us? written clear across their faces. It must be something wrong with Amako. No longer will I be the mere Child of Heaven, I shall become Amaterasu. They will fear me, as much as they adore and worship her.”
Easily enraged
“It doesn’t take much to annoy me. At least, not any more. There was a time when I was the shyest cub in the tribe, but now, after 5 years of living a lie, of no-one ever telling me anything; if you try to stop me, I will kill you. In fact, get in my way at all and you will never see tomorrow.”
Deceitful
“Yeah, so I like to manipulate people. Is that such a problem? None of them live long enough to complain anyway. I lie to people to survive, so much I can hardly tell the lies from the truth anymore. I like it like that.”
Likes:
The Sun
“What, so you thought that just because I was fawned over as the Child of the Sun, I don’t like it anymore? That would make sense, but I still take comfort in the warmth and brightness of it. It’s my symbol. My personal calling card; I only ever hunt on sunny days, and never in the shadows. I’m best hidden in light.”
Isolation
“Alone is silent. No people constantly talking to you like they’re afraid you’ll break, just quiet. It’s peaceful…Just me, a skilled hunter, fully equipped for battle, and the forest, MY domain. All of it is mine.”
Proving a point
"They said I was the child of the sun, I told them I was the sun. Now I'm determined to prove them wrong; to show them my full, deadly, potential."
Dislikes:
Other Smili
"Fawning, stupid weaklings. Oh-so-dependant on their precious society. Liars, the lot of them.
No matter. I no longer need them. They will fear me. They will die, for making my life a misery, for hiding the truth, for being so pitifully weak. They shall fall."
Myths and Legends (Not related to her)
“Never again will I be compared to a goddess. I am one now. They can worship whatever all they want; it won’t do them any good.”
Rain
"Rain clouds hide my symbol, Amaterasu's Sun, the warmth and brightness I rely on to give me drive. A day without sun in the sky is a day wasted, not hunting, not fighting, just sleeping. It bores me."
‘The sun goddess? She was born with the sun. The heaven goddess? She sends many there. Amaterasu.’

History/Background:
As the sun rose fo the first time that year, shining brightly over the forests of Daisetsuzan National Park, so a Smili cub was born. The first and only cub of the spring.
It had been a harsh winter, prey had been scarce and the little the hunters of the tribe could find, while enough to keep the tribe alive, was not enough to sustain cubs. Many females had decided to miss the mating season altogether, preferring to hunt with the rest, and the few that hadn't did not survive long.
Only one pregnant female had lasted the winter, and, ironically, her name was Yuki (Snow). She was not particularly well known in the tribe; barely anyone noticed her until the cub was born.
When the cub, a female, was born, everyone praised the gods, believing the cub to be a child of the heavens.
Yuki, not being a particularly bright Smili, named her Yukiko, child of Yuki, and the snow.
However, not many called Yukiko by her given name, preferring Choko, Amako, Taiyoko. She seemed to like Taiyoko.
Eventually, the leader of the tribe grew jealous of the cub's attention. He arranged for her to be taken from Yuki and raised by the tribe's Elder, Haru (Sky), who was secretly a friend of Yuki.
3 years on: Amaterasu = 3 years old
"Haru-sensei?"
The Elder turned his kind grey eyes on the cub sitting amongst the rocks of an old human shrine to the sun goddess. She looked so at home there that it wasn't difficult to see where she'd gotten the name Amaterasu from.
"Yes, Amaterasu-hime?" He enquired calmly.
The cub frowned, lashing her short, fluffy tail against the floor of the shrine.
"Please refrain from calling me that, Haru-sensei." She said in a remarkably mature voice.
He dipped his head in a gesture of apology.
"I am sorry, Taiyoko-sama. What did you want from me?"
Taiyoko rolled her eyes at the use of 'sama'.
"Please, drop the honorifics. I wanted to know about the rumours going around. About the Smili who was killed."
Haru froze for a second, but quickly regzined his composure.
"What rumours?"
"You know, the female. They say she went insane; blamed the leader for stealing her cub and tried to attack him, but was killed by the warriors.. I can't remember her name.."
The Elder shut his eyes, sighing deeply.
"Yuki..."
1 year on: Amaterasu = 4 years old
Taiyoko opened her sky blue eyes, frowning at the sound of low voices. It was the middle of the night, what was going on?
She uncurle, stretching, and padded softly towards the sounds, concealed by the many lumps of fallen rock that decorated the floor of the old shrine she called home. Peering around the rocks, the young Smili watched as Haru argued with a male Smili she recognised as the leader.
"Konbanwa, Kenichi-san." Haru greeted, inclining his head. "What is it you seek here?"
Kenichi, a tall, jet black male, snorted disrespectfully.
"You know why I'm here, Elder. Where is the girl-cub?"
"Kenichi-san, it is the middle of the night. Taiyoko-sama is sleeping." Haru replied.
"Then awaken her." Kenichi growed threateningly.
"Kenichi-san. That is not possible. She needs her rest." His response was firm.
"This is your last warning, Elder. Get out of our way."
"I will not, Kenichi."
Taiyoko gasped quietly, her baby-blue eyes wide as she watched the proceedings unfold.
A light coloured male led Haru from the shrine, the other warriors fanning out to search for something. Her, Taiyoko realised.
"...Haru!"
The young Smili could think of nothing else to do as her guardian was led away by strangers.
"Haru! Let him go, you... you idiots!"
Kenichi grinned, looking up, straight at Taiyoko.
"Amaterasu, I presume." His green eyes narrowed. "You, are to come with us."
Startled as the warriors approached, Taiyoko froze against the wall.
"Get away! Leave me alone!" She clawed, bit and screamed as a dark brown female picked her up in her mouth.
"Release me at once! Do you know who I am!?"
Kenichi smiled again.
"Oh no, my dear Amaterasu, the question is; do you?"
5 years later: Amaterasu = 9 years old
"My name is Amaterasu. I am the daughter of the leader of a tribe of Smili who live in the forests of Daisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaido. My father's name is Kenichi. He has an annoying habit of calling me Amaterasuko. I had a younger half-sister, Seclai, but she was kidnapped and killed by an insane Smili named Casmi. Casmi had been trying to get me, but mistakenly took Seclai. I don't know how I feel about that.
I am the daughter of the heaven goddess and my namesake, Amaterasu.
I have a stepmother called Sereca, and she's a healer..."
"Well done, Amaterasuko."
Kenichi's voice. I scowled.
"Why do I have to recite this, father? I'm not going to forget who I am."
He just gave me a cryptic look, ignoring the question entirely.
"You may leave. I have an important visitor."
That got my attention. Kenichi had been having important visitors a lot recently.
I silently vowed to find a way to listen in as I bowed my head.
"Of course, Keni-Otou-san."
As soon as I was out of his sight I leapt up, into the trees, and ran along the branches, back towards the Meeting Clearing. I frowned at the volume, they were talking very quietly, and shuffled closer, hoping my brown pelt would provide slight camoflage.
"How.....Taiyoko?"
"Don't...Ki...omi....She's.....renamed....believes...no problems....."
What? What were they talking about? Who was Taiyoko?
"...memories....the mother, Yuki?....Haru?"
Yuki? The female killed 5 years back? Her cub? And who was Haru?
"None...all."
Suddenly, the stranger raised their voice.
"So she's had no trouble adapting?"
Kenichi sounded pleased with himself as he replied.
"I can safely say that Amaterasu has completely forgotten about any and every event, or person, before we kidnapped her."
Huh? They... kidnapped me?
"And the Elder?"
Kenichi snorted, and I got a weird feeling of deja vu.
"Haru? Dead. Killed him the night we took him, to prevent questions. I kept her away from anything that would jog her memory."
I stifled a gasp, crawling backwards, away from the clearing, from my fath- no, Kenichi. Filled with rage, I leapt into the clearing.
"Amaterasuko?" Kenichi smiled. "Whatever's the matter?"
I stared at the stranger, none other than the dark brown female who'd stolen me 5 years ago.
"Amaterasu, this is Kiyomi. She's an old friend. An ex-warrior."
I'll kill them. I thought, mentally snarling.
"Amaterasuko?"
Kenichi's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I snarled, staring between him and Kiyomi.
"What's the matter, Amaterasu?"
"My name..." I said slowly, in a low voice. "Is Taiyoko."
A look of horror spread itself across both Kenichi and Kiyomi's faces.
I smirked, stalking closer.
"It's good to see you remember it."

Other: Well, as much as it pains me to leave it there, this is as far as I can go. It's been really fun working on Taiyoko's backstory, but as my internet went insane a few days ago, I can't get the rest on here. The personality and story have taken hours for me to try and write up using my kindle's weird keypad, and has killed my shoulder, so this'll have to do!
