BACK FROM THE DEAD O v O
I have another question that's probably worth considering? can unlimited people apply for slots? if that's the case, the downside would be, then, there's a higher chance of sheer randomness with the choosing, because if 20 people enter, the chances of the person who deserves with the best story decreases dramatically. ; u ; However, limited entries isn't fair to the slow writers, even if it can help take care of the last minute entry shebang. SO IN THE CAR, WHILE BREAKING SPEEDING LAWS, I THOUGHT. maybe there could be limited slots available to give away? like, 40 or something, which guarantees that the 8 point super writer will get at least a 20% chance. ouo the issue there is still that if a bajillion less capable writers get entries in fast, the person who spent time and effort doesn't have a chance, again. I really dunno, it's hard to make this fair ; u ;. Which is why I thought the infinite variable with slots would possible be a good option. like, you could have as many slots as possible, but the good stories automatically get 10%, and the soso stories get 5%, and the meh stories get 1%. this doesn't make sense so i'll explain with an example.
say, for instance, you get 11 entries. 2 of them are yayay! 6 of them are pretty good, and 3 more just make you sad. In this case, because there are more than 10 people and using 100 slots doesn't sit right with me, we'll go with 200 total for easy number calculate.
person 1 has a great story, gets 10%, which is 20 slots.
Person 2 has a great story, gets 10%, and brought a live rat, which is 23 slots.
person 3 had a good story, gets 5%, which is 10 slots.
person 4 had a good story, gets 5%, and murdered a kitten, which is 15 slots.
person 5 had a good story, gets 5%, and brought a rat, which is 13 slots.
person 6 had a good story, gets 5%, which is 10 slots.
person 7 had a good story, gets 5%, and brought a bone, which is 11 slots.
person 8 had a good story, gets 5%, and collects skulls, which is 13 slots.
person 9 had a poor story, gets 1%, which is 2 slots.
person 10 had a poor story, gets 1%, and brought a dagger, which is 7 slots.
person 11 had a poor story, gets 1%, which is 2 slots.
then we total it all for 124 slots (or more i did it in my head) which leads us to the great story people ultimately having a relatively 20% chance of winning. ultimately it still has issues because if there are tons of people with great stories, you'll go over 100% lmao. but at the very least it raises the chance of good stories winning. ouo
I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE I'M KIND OF TIRED AUGH. ; u ;
