Why are they so grumpy?:
They’re the kind of person who feels the weather in their bones, as if every gust of wind, every shift in temperature, passes directly through them. A sudden gust of wind makes their shoulders tighten and their jaw clench; the first drop of rain sends a shiver crawling down their spine, prickling every nerve. Even a patch of sunlight on their face can feel like a personal affront, searing and intrusive. Their grumpiness isn’t laziness, nor malice, nor some innate desire to be difficult—it’s a survival mechanism honed over years of existing in a world that refuses to maintain comfort. A gentle breeze might be pleasant to others, but for them it’s a small battle; a sudden thunderstorm isn’t thrilling—it’s exhausting. They can’t help but react, flinch, mutter, or retreat when the elements act like unpredictable roommates in their life.

You might notice the subtle signs if you pay attention. They carry a scarf even in the heat of summer, the fabric carefully folded and ready to guard against a sudden chill. A sunhat in the dead of winter shields their skin from the unexpected glare of low, bright sunlight reflecting off frost or snow. Their coat pockets are always stuffed with gloves, hand warmers, or small bits of weather-prep they insist are “necessary.” And the hood, almost ever-present, hovers like a protective halo, ready to be pulled up at the slightest hint of drizzle or gust.
