The heart that fuels it is not of this world. Truth
His heart was created within a world between the land of the living and the land of the spirits. Upon his sacrifice to save the guardian tree of the kingdom Elderbloom Grove by becoming the tree's new guardian spirit Loki's mortal heart perished along with his mortal form and gave way to a new heart being forged a heart of pure light to beat for a guardian reborn. The heart pulses with an otherworldly glow and energy as it frantically beats to keep Loki's reborn body going. The new heart appears as a glowing orb of golden light that can be seen swirling around in the center of Loki's chest.
There are names carved into the wood of its body, but it has forgotten who the names belong to. Truth
Loki has long forgotten who the name's carved into his body belong too although he can still picture the fable's who were once his friends but they're faces are blurry. He sonetimes tries to remember what name went with who but all it causes him is a splitting headache and thus he's finally given up on remembering even thou it pains him to forget. When observing the mortal realm he sometimes tries to find fables who look like the blurry faced ones that he can picture in his mind, but every time he spots someone who even vaguely looks familiar to him he still isn't sure if the fable he's looking at is a friend from his past life since he can't remember they're faces. So now hes not entirely sure if the fables he sees in his vague memories are really what his former friends looked like or if they're simply figments of his imagination.
It has never died. Lie
The guardian tree of the kingdom of Elderbloom Grove had lost it's guardian spirit and had begun to wither away and spread decay all throughout the kingdom and Loki was the only one who could stop it by sacrificing himself to become the tree's new guardian spirit. His friends begged him to find another way but deep down even they new that this was the only way, it had been what Loki had been preparing for all his life after all. Since he was young Loki had helped take care of the guardian tree and eventually was confirmed to be compatible to be a new guardian spirit for the tree should the current guardian spirit ever be lost. For several moons the fable's of Elderbloom Grove believed that the guardian tree spirit would never disappear but here we are now in present day and indeed the spirit of the guardian tree has disappeared and Loki must now become the new guardian spirit for the tree less both the tree and the Elderbloom Grove kingdom perish. Now loki stands before the withered tree and looks back at his friends and says his goodbyes before turning back to the tree and heading down deep into it's roots where his mortal life will end and his new life as a guardian spirit shall begin.
