Lore: this fable loves spending her days playing with the puppies at the dog park, running around and basking in the sun. Her favorite furry friend is a small daschun who tends to follow her everywhere

Marionette is the second in a series of experiments led by Tobias Albricht in the year 2005. He wanted to create the ultimate companion: the loyalty and brain power of a dog, and the working ability plus command over magic of a fable. The first experiment, Rudigar, proved an outstanding success. He was once a doberman but was combined with a fable to create the beast that he became. He was unwaveringly loyal, outstandingly protective over his charge, and smarter than a whip. What wasn't to love?

Tobias's experiments were frowned upon, but he continued in the pursuit of perfection. Marionette would be his second go: a dachshund combined with a fable. She was a little less tame than Rudigar. She threw fits, bucked authority -- proved to be a real handful over the years. While Rudgiar remained loyal to Tobias and his daugher, Elise, Mari escaped after ten years of servitude.

It's been hundreds of years now; of living on her own and trying to figure out her place in this world. Not quite a dog, not quite a fable, somewhere painfully in between.

She returns to the laboratory she was created in, only to run into a familiar sight.
