Dragons of Aerene is an arpg focusing on developing dragons in whatever way that you choose. Whether you want to take one dragon on a solo adventure- and have them grow as a character, or develop an entire clan of dragons of all sorts to take on the world together. It prioritizes freedom of development, taking things at your own speed, and meeting personal goals in development.

This ARPG also has a specialization in breeding/fantasy "genetics" in hybridizing varying traits and mixing different dragon types for new and unique results

This ARPG functions on an attunement system.

Attunement is individual to each of your characters. You can have a group of dragons- or prioritize one or two dragons. The more you use your dragon- the higher the attunement. Raise attunement with art, writing, ect. Higher attunement gives access to higher edit tiers, better breeding odds, and special event bonuses

When claiming something relative to attunement, please make sure that all pieces (Writing or art) are visible to staff to double check. Hidden art/writing does not count towards attunement because it cannot be verified.

All work does NOT have to be created by you, and a piece including multiple dragons counts for all dragons that meet the minimum requirement.

200 words of writing or 1 art piece = 1.0% attunement rating

So 20k words or 100 art pieces to max out one individual. (This is supposed to be high, to encourage development and group activity, since including multiple dragons benefits multiple dragons)

Writing and art is totally your choice but a prompt list will become available for inspiration at a later date. Art just has to be a minimum of flat color, recognizable, and at least a bust shot. Writing must include the dragon SIGNIFICANTLY. This can vary on a case by case basis- but you can't just tack a dragon in the background of a story and count them for the full attunement amount. They have to be an active participant in the writing/or it should be relevant to the dragon.

You do not have to be entirely one or the other, you can mix it up at your discretion (so 10k words and 50 art, 20 art and 16k words, whatever)

Maxed attunement is listed on the individuals page as an award

This is not a currency and not managed by staff. You keep track of your own attunement, staff will just double check it when applying for something applicable.

Attunement 0-10% = no bonuses
11-20% = freedom for nonrarity edits
21-30% = freedom for Low tier alignment edits (based on your dragons element)
31-40% = +5% to all breeding odds (#, trait passing, ect)
41-50% = freedom for Mid tier alignment edits (based on your dragons element)
51-60% = chance for hybrid alignment offspring
61-70% = +5% to all breeding odds (#, trait passing, ect) (Stacks on other, so 10% total)
71-80% = freedom for High tier alignment edits (based on your dragons element)
81-90% = freedom for all low and mid tier alignment edits (for all elements)
91-99% = freedom for all high tier alignment edits (for all elements)
100% = full edit freedom for your dragon including restricted edits

Nursery edit changes will be applied when breeding.

Edits on your official reference are your responsibility- and must be approved by staff to be official. Edits must be official to count towards breeding/nursery. You can do the edits yourself or request/commission someone to do them. The artist may be willing to do them for you, if you ask.

Attunement transferring:
Artwork transferred STILL COUNTS for attunement. Writing only counts if its retained by the new owner and still visible for staff to check. (if the new owner deletes all the old information/it's no longer accessible...it's not possible for staff to verify. This writing can be marked as 'outdated' or retired/incorrect as long as it's still accessible in some form just for verification of work purposes) Once a dragon reaches 100% attunement and receives its attunement emblem, it will stay attuned regardless of what is visible on the page.

Traits and element guide

Each element gives the dragons unique abilities, traits, and features. Below is a brief guide on each element, a more in depth version will be available at a later time.

Note: You can give your dragon any traits/etc. you want in your own art. This guide is as it applies to breeding and for official artwork within the Dragons of Aerene arpg and attunement features.

You can give your dragons alternate forms (Such as anthro, human, or shapeshifted forms in any manner you choose, this just will not be on the official reference).

Nonrarity traits:
(Traits that are nonrarity across the board for all dragon types)

• Blindness
•Scars and limbs missing due to injury
•Disability
•Accessories (As long as they are detachable)
•Companions/companion creatures
•Weight
•Size
•Expression edits
•Pupils
•Tongues

Restricted traits:
(Traits that are special and reserved only for fully attuned dragons)

• Multiple heads
• Extreme genetic manipulation/mixing with non-dragon species
• 3+ element hybridization
• Alternate main form
• Manmade/Cybernetic parts/ Robotic
• Elemental Magic Aura
• Extra Limbs

Neutral Dragons lack in specialized edits- but benefit in their neutrality! You can mix a neutral dragon with any other dragon, and it's children may have the ability to take edits of a different element.

A founder refers to your first dragon that can be obtained for free for the arpg on official lines. You can choose what element founder you prefer, and start your journey making your dragon/group. You do not need a founder to participate, you can easily adopt a dragon as well to start. Even if you adopt a first dragon, every person may still obtain 1 founder for free.

Accounts must be at least 2 months old to obtain a founder and create a page for them within 1 month of their creation. You may not obtain a second founder, even if you trade yours away.

You can request accessories/scars/nonrarity edits, but cannot request trait edits on your founders. Any traits added are up to artist discretion

Founders are semi-customs to get you started in the ARPG. You may change your founder with edits as you use them, but may not request a new founder or ask the artist to redo major portions of the design since they are a free semi-custom. If you do not like your founder, you are always welcome to trade them or obtain a new dragon through adoption
