Clip's looking for herbs. wow, they really need 'em since Clip practically dragged Toughstuff out here. Toughstuff is still blinking sleep from his eyes, still carrying his teddy from the night before. Ey can't have eir dearest partner suffer from this sickness; he can't even handle the sniffles! Oh, and Periwinkle too, ey guess.

Toughie's dragging herself around, sleeping on her paws. Poor cat.

Orange pine needles scattered across the redwood forest floor, the same color as Tigger’s paws. There was a distinct autumn chill in the air as the breeze tried to sneak under her squirrel skin jacket, patched with half a dozen paw-made patches. She pulled it tighter around her as she trekked to each of her traps, checking for prey .

It’s been a lonely life since Skyfire left. Maybe they’ll meet again, maybe they won’t. Probably not. Tigger’s never been (un)lucky enough to meet any of her exes again. What would she even say to any of them? What apologies could she muster?

Hypotheticals didn’t matter, though, not when winter was coming. Tigger would be just fine on her own. She always was. She’d have to be.

For such a bountiful patrol, Fallfoilage’s fur bounced with joy. Her paws began to organize the herbs as the group took a small break. Cinnamon carried the hollyberries next to the horsetail, and her ‘mom’ helped her do so. As Sandytears was looking over the new herbs he couldn’t wait a second, those borage leaves could go bad- He bit the herbs and like lighting, Sandytears took off with very few words. “Moltencream needs these!...” Was all that could be heard as he began to run home. His little lad Oy was hanging onto his tail, swaying in the wind trails behind him. Darkthunder almost gave a little sigh as she turned to Fallfoilage. “He couldn't even bother to say goodbye..” Darkthunder said as she flicked her large ear piece. Those sharp yellow eyes didn’t seem entertained in the slightest

The two were trying to decide what to do when the universe decided for them. Sun followers tend to take the sun setting as a sign of rest. Fallfoilage was no exception, so she puffed up and chirped to Darkthunder. “Its getting quite late, so why don’t we camp? That ways maybe Sandytears can come back before the rogue gets here!” The older molly squinted at all the energy coming from the young spry warrior. “Yeah… why don’t you get the moss beds, I’ll handle the fire.” Cinnamon squeaked, taking off into the underbrush. A weak grasp for words escaped Fallfoilage before she took off with a firm nod after her little one. Darkthunder was alone now, she took a deep breath before heading out to find twigs.

The crackling of the wood kept the silence from being too quiet for Falllfoilage. She simply sat across the fire from Darkthunder, holding her small companion on her shorter tail. Cinnamon hung onto it like a branch as she slept. Darkthunder was the first to speak after the stars began to shine. “Why are you always so happy?” She asked, flicking her ear and licking her paw. The feline had her claws out, cleaning them as well as Fallfoilage thought of an answer. “Why not? I’d rather be happy than sad.” She said, looking at Darkthunder. “Why are you so cold all the time?” The black nonagouti carnelian rosette tortie said with a certain sharp edge to her voice. “With age you learn things that make it hard not to be cold. I am not cold hearted, simply rough around the edges young molly.” Darkthunder said, pushing herself up. The spikes on her collar bounced with her as she walked. The shifting of the trees helped Fallfoilage speak. “I don’t think so… Bluechestnut is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met. He has more time than you will ever have-” Darkthunder’s low growl cut her off. The molly spoke quickly and angrily. “Don’t you dare say I won’t live long! That's messed up! I’ve looked death in the eyes Fall.” She began to pace along the fire edges, speaking with fire now. “You can’t understand what strength it takes for Bluechestnut to hold his smile each and every day! You just can’t!” She growled, it was then the rustling of bushes shocked and silenced them.

“Suprise!!” Shouted Twinklescar, who was happy to have found them after searching all afternoon! She smiled brightly at the pair before she realized Darkthunder was grumbling and walking away. While Fallfoilage could barely smile or even look at her. She coughed weakly realizing this wasn’t the best time, but she couldn’t just sit around. “Is there a moss bed for me?” She asked Fallfoilage, who scooted over. “No but you are welcome to rest in my nest.” Twinklescar nodded, curling up into a ball next to Fallfoilage. Cinnamon squeaked as Darkthunder returned, she said nothing before laying down. The flame began to dwindle down as the party fell asleep.

the rogue returns again and this time, he immediately attacks her </3 she loses -30% health and requires one post of rest (taken off patrol)! for every post nose doesn't rest, she'll lose -10% health (hp)!

"Acornswirl has a fever; we need bindweed, lavender, mallow leaves, or catmint." Dawnpaw prescribed.
"Correct! Unfortunately, we haven’t been here for long, so I’m not sure if we actually have any around here. I'm sure we’ll find some." Hollowstar ensured.
The pair wandered through the unfamiliar forest sniffing around for what they were looking for, whilst also training Dawnpaw’s foraging abilities.
“Ooo!! Hollowstar, I found something!” Dawnpaw exclaimed. “Don’t tell me! It’s..! Uhm… Uhhh..”
Dawnpaw went silent into a deep concentration, trying to identify the herb. “Oh! Oh! Chickweed! It’s chickweed!”
“Correct! Great job, Dawnpaw, now what can we use chickweed for?” Hollowstar quizzed. Dawnpaw was slightly taken aback and put back into a deep state of thought. Then, she exclaimed,
“Greencough! It’s used to treat greencough, so we should bring some back just in case!”
“Very good! I agree, we should keep some back at the base. Winter should be arriving soon, so this is an excellent find. Great job, Dawnpaw.” Dawnpaw smiled and hopped off with her tail high.
“Thank you, Hollowstar!”

After a long patrol, the two found some deadly nightshade, hawkweed, tormentil, honey, horsetail, holly berries, and goldenrod. Most importantly, they found lavender.

"Dawnpaw! I want you to tell me what this is." Hollowstar pointed to some yarrow blooming in the field. It wasn't ready for harvesting, but it's still good to train apprentices.
"Yarrow! It'll be ready in... about a week!" Dawnpaw answered correctly.
"Wonderful! You’re making such great progress.” Hollowstar meowed. “I think it's time for Starclan to decide if you’re ready to be a full medicine cat."
"You think so? Thank you so much for training me, Hollowstar! I owe you so much!" Dawnpaw beamed.
"We'll go to the starsprings tonight, then Starclan will decide." Hollowstar purred.
"I can't wait!!" Dawnpaw shouted, almost bouncing with excitement.
Hollowstar responded with a giggle, and they headed back to camp, finishing Dawnpaw's final assessment.

"How did it go?" Honeyhawk asked the apprentice.
"Great! I did everything right, and Hollowstar said she thinks I can be an official medicine cat tonight!!" Dawnpaw answered.
"That's great! I'm sure Starclan will approve, your skills are quite impressive." Honeyhawk purred.
"Where's Acornswirl?" Hollowstar asked the deputy.
"I'm here!" Acornswirl poked his head out of the medicine den.
“We found lavender! Chew this and you should feel much better soon.” Dawnleaf shoved the lavender at Acornswirl, causing him to flinch.
“Awesome! Thank you so much, Dawnpaw, I owe you.“ Acornswirl smiled and quickly chewed the lavender.

Acornswirl chewed lavender to cure his fever.

"We're going to the starsprings tonight for Starclan to decide if Dawnpaw is ready, do you want to come with?" Hollowstar asked.
"Of course! Let me just grab a bit more of this moss I found, then we can go!" He said while quickly padding into the forest.
The she-cats chatted while Acornswirl went out to grab more moss for the medicine den's stock. When the tom-cat got back, he quickly stored the moss in the den and joined the group. They began heading towards the starsprings.
"I'm so excited! I wonder what my name is going to be? Maybe Dawnlight! Or Dawnnose! Oooh, maybe Dawnstar! Watch out, Hollowstar!" Dawnpaw chuckled. Hollowstar followed with a laugh.
"Very funny, Dawnpaw."
"I'm serious! Maybe they'll make me leader instead!" Dawnpaw joked.
“Oh stars!” Hollowstar giggled as the clan entered the cavern.
Acornswirl sat at the entrance of the room instead of following the other three into the springs.
"I'm sure Starclan wouldn't mind if you joined the ceremony with us, do you want to come with?" Hollowstar beckoned Acornswirl to the warm springs.
"A warrior joining for a medicine cat ceremony? Isn't that against the code?" Acornswirl seemed flabbergasted by Hollowstar's suggestion.
"That was the code under Badgerstar's rule; we're not under her rules anymore, Acornswirl." Hollowstar stiffly responded.
"I suppose not. I would be honored to join." Acornswirl bowed his head.
"Why weren't you allowed to join medicine cat ceremonies, Acornswirl?" Dawnpaw asked.
"The clan Hollowstar and I came from, you weren't allowed to be anything more than your roles. If you were a medicine cat, you did medicine and talked to Starclan, no hunting or having mates, it was strictly forbidden. Medicine cats were sacred and placed in a higher class than everyone, which meant only the worthy were allowed to join ceremonies, like other medicine cats and leaders." Acornswirl explained.
"Wow, sounds rough. No wonder StarClan wanted a new clan to watch over!" Dawnpaw remarked.
"We should start." Hollowstar interrupted; she seemed slightly unsettled by the mention of her old home. Honeyhawk and Acornswirl nodded and sat down near the hot springs.
The clanmates drank the water from the pool and were quickly put to sleep.

"Dawnpaw!" A voice quickly greeted the cats, along with a cave almost identical to the one they were in previously. The water was replaced with a pool of stardust.
"That's me!" Dawnpaw perked up. The voice came from Sparrowfeather, Hollowstar's mother, and the cat who taught Dawnpaw some basic medicine and showed her the way to Hollowstar.
Sparrowfeather took a deep breath. “I believe there should be an adjustment to the way the clans function. There will be no medicine cat ceremony tonight.”
Dawnpaw drooped. “I thought I was doing so well…”
“Darling, you’ve been doing exceptionally well. Instead, Hollowclan’s medicine cats will be healers, and you, Dawnpaw, will be the world’s first.” Sparrowfeather purred.
“Really!! That’s awesome!” Dawnpaw leaped with joy.
"Are you ready, Dawnpaw?" Sparrowfeather asked.
"Yeah! Ready as ever!" Dawnpaw half-shouted.
"Alright. Dawnpaw! As a healer, will you be loyal to this clan and aid your clanmates in need?" The she-cat's voice boomed.
"I do!" Dawnpaw shouted.
"From this moment forward, you shall be known as Dawnleaf. Starclan honors you for your devotion." Sparrowfeather bowed, finalizing the ceremony. The stardust from the springs swirled and quickly enveloped the clan members as they then woke up beside the springs.
"Why is Dawnleaf still asleep?" Honeyhawk nudged Dawnleaf's body. Dawnleaf twitched and quickly jolted awake. Her eyes were wide, her eyes looking back and forth in frantic thought. The she-cat’s expression changed as if she had come to a realization.
"Kits! Honeyhawk! Follow me!" Dawnleaf yelped and bolted out of the cave, Honeyhawk quickly following her.
"What's going on?" Honeyhawk asked.
"StarClan gave me a sign! There are abandoned kits in the forest!" Dawnleaf explained, still sprinting at full speed.
"How? Kits? Abandoned in the middle of the night? Who would do that?" Honeyhawk wondered out loud.
"I don't know! Over here!" Dawnleaf neared two crying kits squirming under a big leaf in a small basket.
"They're here, look!" Dawnleaf opened the basket, and the kits seemed to calm down.
"The scent of the mother ends here.." Honeyhawk continued sniffing the air for a possible clue on the mother's whereabouts.
"What?" Dawnleaf made her way over to Honeyhawk. "It's like they vanished..."
"We should take the kits back to camp; they must be hungry." Honeyhawk padded over to the basket and grabbed it by its handle.
"Thank you, Honeyhawk." Dawnleaf sighed, still confused. “Starclan sent me a sign; they showed me that they were abandoned in the territory, and I had to help them," Dawnleaf explained. The two quickly took the kits back to camp. Honeyhawk showed Hollowstar the kits.
"How are we going to feed kits without a mother? Nobody's able to nurse them!" Hollowstar asked.
"I can find lots of borage and give it to whoever wants to nurse them!" Dawnleaf offered.
"I can do it." Hollowstar quickly volunteered.
"All you have to do is nurse them, I can watch and take care of them otherwise." Dawnleaf grabbed the basket and led them into the medicine den.
"Tomorrow morning, we can go hunt and look for borage," Hollowstar decided.
"Alright, I'm going to sleep, good night," Honeyhawk stated.
"Me too, goodnight!" Dawnleaf followed.
"Acornswirl, can I talk to you for a moment?" Hollowstar asked, leading him away from the nesting den.
"Sure, is everything okay?" Acornswirl asked the she-cat.
"We're having kits!" Hollowstar whisper-shouted.
"Yeah! I can’t believe someone would just abandon them like this." Acornswirl scoffed.
“No, silly, we’re having kits! I should be due in two moons.” Hollowstar beamed.
Acornswirl’s eyes widened, and he immediately embraced his mate. Almost jumped with joy. "That’s amazing! We’re going to have two bundles of little rascals. It feels almost surreal."
"I would’ve never imagined it would be possible from all we’ve been through," Hollowstar meowed, returning the embrace. "We should go to sleep, we have a long day tomorrow."
"Of course, anyways, goodnight, Hollowstar." Acornswirl purred.
"Goodnight, my love." Hollowstar purred in response.

Hollowstar woke up last, and Honeyhawk organized a patrol for when Hollowstar woke up.
"We should eat before we go, agreed?" Hollowstar proposed.
