Golden streams of light flickered along the dirt path as spindly branches swayed from above. The warm greenleaf breeze drifted from the leafy canopy down to the cats below, guiding their weary bodies home through the forest. It was a welcome change, the splattering of sunlight certainly more pleasant than damp fur and drenched pawpads offered by the prior season.

The silver deputy parted his jaws, allowing the familiar Greenleaf aroma to wash over his senses. Two squirrels not far off... Wouldn't hurt to grab some prey on the way home, he thought to himself, purple-blue eyes squinting against the sunlight. Crunching leaves echoed from behind, interrupting his thoughts and drawing his attention.

Atlasdash approached, a pair of plump grey squirrels dangling from his tightened muzzle, the same frown from earlier etched upon his gaze. (+3fp squirrel, +3fp squirrel) A jumble of conflicting emotions bombarded the father's mind as he watched his son pass by without so much as a glance. It seemed the younger cat had the same thought, just sooner.

"Nice catch," Solarspark mewed in a light tone, differing greatly from his earlier mood. Though a muffled grunt is all the tom would receive for a reply as the older cat marched past the group, their silver tail flicking behind them.

"It is certainly a nice catch," Stormbranch agreed with the young cat, his gaze flickering tentatively towards the silver tom now well ahead of the group. "Greenleaf has been generous to us.. What with those squirrels and the herbs found by Novafrost." (+1 coltsfoot, +1 thyme, +1 mint, +1 horsetail)

The golden-colored tom blinked up at the deputy, words forming at the tip of his tongue just as the startling sound of rapid pawsteps halted his response. Stormbranch's eyes followed the sound, curiosity bubbling within him as an elegant she-cat emerged from the undergrowth. Her dappled fur was reminiscent of scarlet leaves decorating the forest floor- a delicate balance of chestnut and honey. "Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt," she began, gulping for air between her words, "But I have a favor to ask, if you don't mind."
