most folk who have a general knowledge of cat genes can recognise the different types of tabby (classic, makerel, ticked, braided marbled, etc.) but a lesser known pattern is servaline! its a type of marking called a breakthrough and happens when a more 'dominant' gene doesnt fully cover the more 'resessive' gene! servaline is seen in Bm- cats (bengal) but breakthroughs can be seen in non Bm- cats as well! Such has the mackerel equivalent, called pinstripe :3
