"It wasn't the same scent that was on Goldengaze's body, I'm sure of it." Dustythorn's voice was low, the
Inner Court all huddled together to discuss what the patrol had found. "The Nosoi might have been
scared off, but it must not have been alone. I know we already keep at least one Thorn Knight on
every patrol, but I want to double them up. Especially since some of the squires are finished with
their formal training and are joining patrols. Lotusseed, I know you've been focusing Moon on his
studies, but start taking him with you to gather herbs. I want you as well stocked as you can be."

The Lady of the Fields nodded, coiling her tail over her paws. "He could probably use a break from
studying anyways. He hasn't been sleeping well, as of late."

"I don't know that many of us have." Peonystem admitted, shaking his head. "But I do agree with all of
Dustythorn's suggestions. I am hesitant to allow the squires to join patrols for their informal training,
but we also cannot allow them to languish in the camp to forget everything."

"We've been doubling border patrols instead of hunting," Dustythorn said "If we continue that, we can
cover more territory with shorter patrols, thus lowering the risk of a squire being attacked. It won't
remove the possibility of course, but..."

Promisedrose sighed. "I'll allow it. But warn the Knights to be on guard. Especially the Thorns."

The relentless chant burned in Moon's ears as he ran across the dark field. He couldn't remember how
long he'd been running, but he'd known that he was searching for something. Someone was
waiting for him- needed him, he had to find them to help them.

The air was thick with the scent of rot they are near Moon was nearly choking on it, the smell
of decay nearly consuming his thoughts, if the chant wasn't there to stop it.

FINDTHEMFINDTHEMFIND-

A wave of water forced him to stop, digging his claws into the soft dirt below. He stared at the water,
and they stared back, heavily muscled and scarred, what could only be a death scar separating
neck from body. Moons eyes widened and their eyes copied the action. He took a few shaking steps back
and the figure's form retreated from the water.

Suddenly they tilted their own head, and Moon found his body responding to the reflection.

you are not me the voice of the chant spoke, softer now. and yet we are one?

"N-no" Moon whispered "I'm not-"

The figure walked closer to the wall of water, and Moon's shaking form followed them, the two now facing
each other with only a flowing wall separating them. "This is not my realm, but nor is it yours?"

Because it is mine.

The new voice caused Moon to turn, where he saw a lithe form approaching, wearing a cloth across their
shoulders and a circlet atop their head. I am Xiye and he belongs to me.

"The Enigmata" Moon whispered, staring at the Seer. The Spirit nodded to him, and turned to focus on the
form in the water. This is not your place, Akrit. Leave what is mine and resume your search
Their head tilted, and they added He will help, but he is not yours to claim. The time will come,
and it will be soon. But the Roses are not yet ready for the truth. Leave, and do not use what is
mine again.

The figure in the water- Akrit, spirit of Destruction- bowed low to Xiye, and for the first time, Moon's body
did not copy them. Their form retreated, fading into the water. Moon stared up at the Enigmata on shaking
legs, eyes stretched moon-wide. "Y-you're-"

Not the first Spirit you have met in this place. Nor will I be the last. But you are mine little seer.
Just as you always have been. You will learn, but just as the world is not ready for Akrit to complete his
search, so too are you unready to learn the truths. The follower of Permanence, speak with him. He
and those like him will ready your mind. And when you are ready, you will know. Now, awaken
little Seer, for life is not so simple and you must be prepared for what is to come.

Moon jolted awake in his nest, startling Lotusseed who was nudging seeds into leaf packets. "Are you
alright Moon?"

"I-" Moon started, eyes darting around the room. "I'm fine. Just...a weird dream, is all."

Lotusseed stared at him, eyes wide. "I'd say it was a fair bit more than that." she said, a soft smile
overtaking her features. "Congratulations, I never would have thought you a follower of Enigmata,
but they rarely adhere to what we expect."

"I'm sorry?"

"Remember when Pollenbrook was blessed by the Abundance? the flowers that bloomed from his fur?"

"Yeah?"

"The Enigmata has blessed you. Don't tell me you don't feel it"

Moon frowned, shifting to rise so that he could walk to the river to see his reflection, when he felt it.
Twisting his head, Moon stared at the purple and gray shawl that had draped itself over his back. Exactly
like that which he had seen on Xiye in his dream.

No...exactly like that which he had seen on Xiye in his vision.

As Otterstripe continued to grumble under their breath, Newstar called the medicine cat to him. "Redfur's kits," they said softly. "Are due to be apprenticed. I don't wish to reopen my wounds by climbing the jonboat; will you perform the ceremonies?" Sunstone's ears perked up in surprise. "I know it's unusual," Newstar continued. "But with this many of us unable to hunt or fight, I don't want their training to fall behind. Not to mention, dear Shinepaw needs his name, and I believe you have the appropriate authority under Starclan to perform that ceremony." Sunstone agreed, and Newstar told him their choices for each apprentice's mentor.

The First Star peeped over the horizon, and Sunstone called the clan to him. After some explanation of Newstar & Glassfang's conditions, he called Shinepaw to the front. The apprentice accepted the warrior's oath, and Sunstone called, "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Shinepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Shinepelt. Starclan honors your tenacity and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Saltclan!" Shinepelt embraced Sunstone while his clanmates cheered.
Next, Sunstone called Redfur's kits to the front. Redfur herself looked ready to cry, and Sunstone was sorry that Pineclaw would miss this moment. To Sunpaw, he assigned Whitebelly; to Darkpaw, Copperleaf. The apprentices touched noses with their new mentors, practically shaking with excitement or nerves or both. Dawnkit looked up at Sunstone expectantly. Sunstone purred. "My clanmates," he said, waiting for the other cats to quiet. "It is time that I take an apprentice of my own. When it is my time to retire, I wish to leave you with a cat skilled in the ways of healing and dreaming." He looked down at Dawnkit. Redfur had spoken to him about the kit's significant dreams; it was clear to see that Starclan was trying to speak through him. From the talks Sunstone'd had with Dawnkit, it was clear his affinity for healing would be just as strong. "Dawnkit, from now until the day you receive your medicine cat name, you will be known as Dawnpaw, and I will be your mentor." Dawnpaw beamed and fluffed up his fur in pride. "On the next new moon," Sunstone continued. "We will travel to the Starpool and confirm your apprenticeship before Starclan."

Driftwood heard through the grapevine that the Admiral's Crew had set sail - late. Copperleaf suggests the fights with Saltclan patrols is what delayed them, and says they may be caught at sea during storm season.
Oliveheart & Whitebelly continue to bond, this time over their mentorship. The joint swimming lesson was Oliveheart's idea, and the three warrior apprentices seem excited for it.
Newstar, Glassfang, & Otterstripe have a chat while stuck in the medicine den. Poor Pineclaw does his best to sleep through most of it.

WEATHER !!

LEAF-FALL || The temperature has begun to drop, and the days grow shorter and shorter. With the disappearance of the unbearable heat, predators are more commonly slinking along the outskirts of the territory. Alongside the growing dangers that come with the cold weather, kittings are beginning to get harder. Clans should stock up on prey and herbs for the coming dangerous moons, as this will be their last chance until after the next season has passed.

• The eagle plummeted from the sky without warning, having been flying so high that it was no more than a speck in the sky. With a mighty screech, it stretched its talons toward the bird laying between Longface's paws. Sunfang launched herself at the patrol leader, shoving him out of the way. Before she could regain her footing, talons pierced her fur and the ground disappeared from beneath her paws. She thrashed and shrieked, and the cats threw themselves at the eagle. Claws sank into her paws as they tried to weigh her down, but the powerful wingstrokes drove them upward until they had to let go. Sunfang let out a final wail as the eagle disappeared into the sky, taking her away from her clanmates.

flamingowing physically cannot support himself anymore and collapses on patrol. his clanmates carry him back to camp where pumpkinseed says there's nothing he can do. flamingowing lays next to his children and friends. He tells his kits how much he loves him and how proud he is. He tells Tumblepaw to never give up and let his condition dictate him. He makes the three of them promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. Through tears, Cranepaw, Tumblepaw, and Goosepaw all make a vow to their dying father that they will always stick together no matter what. They surround Flamingowing as he gives up his soul to StarClan.

After watching the scene unfold with Flamingowing, Inktuft stomps over to Flintcry. "I know you've been talking with the ghosts." They whisper. Flintcry opens his mouth, but they cut him off. "Don't try to deny it. I know. Don't lie to me. I also know they've been telling you things. What is it?" Flintcry mumbles something. "What?" Inktuft snaps, lifting his chin "Say it with your chest." "They told me the cure to the Sneeze." Inktuft's mouth curls into a snarl. "And you just decided to keep it from us while your clanmates die in agony? While youre leader suffers from the loss of her kit? While innocent cats are punished-" "I thought they weren't real." Flintcry cuts off "My whole life I've been seeing things. Cats who aren't on this plane anymore, and mother always said to not listen to them." He curls into himself and bows his head "I've finally found a Clan who wants me. I wasn't going to ruin it by spouting my nonsense about the spirits talking to me." Inktuft sighs, softening. They sit next to him and look out onto the clearing. "You're not crazy, if that's what you're implying. I know what you're going through. Let's just say...I've been around a long time. I've seen things." They turn to face Flintcry "and if you want to stay in this clan, you'll tell Pumpkinseed how to cure it." After a pause, Flintcry nods and goes to talk to the medicine cat.

Pumpkinseed follows Flintcry's direction and finds a hidden field filled with small white flowers. It is something he has never seen before. Wolverinestar, who came along, volunteers to eat a flower. After a few minutes, she frows up, but there are no signs of the flower petals. She immediately feels better, though. Pumpkinseed, though skeptical of the long-term effects, collects enough for a first batch and begins treating the clan.

The Sneeze is eliminated.
