I’ve been sitting on this cave painting bby for months now. Touched her up and fixed the dang hands as much as I could (hands are hard and a mistake to draw lol)
To enter, tell me about or show me something cool about a language/method of communication of your choosing! It can be ancient, depicted by paintings (just like cave paintings!), or something more modern!

Prompt: I am nowhere near a war history buff but one piece of info that has stuck with me are the code talkers of WWI and WWII. Credited for helping the allied powers win both wars, the code talkers were Indigenous Americans who used their native languages to help encrypt messages between the US's military allies. No other countries could understand the little-known native languages of the Comanche, Hopi, Meskwaki, and Navajo peoples. Navajo is most well known for it's use between code talkers due to its incredibly complex grammar structures and at the time it was a language that had never been written down. For words that did not have a 1:1 translation, they would come up with code words like iron fish for submarine or turtle for tank.
Unrelated to the above but please enjoy my favorite cave painting, the Unicorn Panel!

Prompt: People who use ASL can have accents! It’s something I never thought about but saw on social media: the accents are regional just like spoken languages, and can differ between region, age group, and ethic groups

As someone with a spoken regional accent, this is actually mind blowing!
