DiscordWelcome to the Realm of Felidaera, a continent hiding between reality and imagination, where flying cats rule as the dominant intelligent species. They've organized themselves into large nations they refer to as 'tribes', composed of multiple clans that share a piece of the continent. Sometimes there is strife - but there is nothing greater than a common enemy that can bring cats of all kinds together.
☾ Tribe of the Moon Mountains
(bat winged cats, cling to cliffs and reside in caverns)
Nocturnal hunters deemed uncanny for their featherless wings. Without the ability to sheathe their claws, this tribe is often misinterpreted as an aggressive bunch attempting to fear monger the other tribes.
☀ Tribe of Sunrise Sea
(feathered cats, smooth-winged like seabirds, reside on an island gorge off the mainland)
Unbothered and relatively peaceful, the sea provides a nearly-perfected utopia for fish-loving cats. With their home separated from the mainland, this tribe decidedly steers clear from conflict - though their lethal diving techniques aren’t only for catching fish off-guard.
✦ Tribe of the Fallen Star Forest
(feathered cats, reside in a bright and dense forest where their colors pop best)
The loudest of the tribes, known most for their songs. In the forest, this tribe faces the largest and most dangerous threats, and yet they are proud to create lyrical tales of their grand battles (the ones they win, anyway).
✧ Tribe of the Evening Valley
(feathered cats, roaming free in the plains, and known for picking up strays/rogues)
A tribe revered for its goodwill can be seen as the weakest of all. The valley is known as the most diverse tribe; all outcasts seem to make their way here one way or another. They bend rules in favor of kindness, and thus provide quite the nonthreatening impression.
☁ Tribe of the Dusk Desert
(feathered cats with wide faces, scavengers that reside in a cacti labyrinth)
The barren wastelands nurture the strongest of guardians - in spite of a scarcity in prey, the desert tribe seems to revel in their hardships. Infighting is merely blowing off steam. Hunting in other territories is simply part of the natural order. As far as other tribes are concerned, the heat has definitely gotten to the desert cats’ heads.
❄ Tribe of the Twilight Tundra
(feathered cats, fluffier in nature to survive the cold, reside in the burrows of icy hills)
Sleepy scavengers who are scarcely ever seen by the other tribes. The cats of the ice tundra were once rumored to be the spirits of ones passed from the way the snow glitters in their fur like stars.
These tribes contain many different clans; it’s up to you to create your own and figure out what tribe they belong to!
Note: Cats unaffiliated with a tribe/clan are allowed, but if they’re a founder, they won’t be able to gain tribe affiliation benefits.
Quick FAQWhat is an ARPG?
- ARPG stands for “art role playing game”! Think of a closed species community, just with more elements to participate in.
- While this specific ARPG is inspired by the Warrior Cats and Guardians of Ga’Hoole book series, it is not a copyrighted concept shown in either series! This is entirely its own thing. (therefore these designs may be sold/exchanged for real currency)
- There’s no required activity level, or barrier to entry. Whether you’re just here to gain new characters, develop/level up your cats, participate in the events/community discord, etc. everyone is welcome!
- Of course anyone is encouraged to make their own cats with wings, we don’t own the concept! But to participate in this ARPG community, you’ll want winged cats that are specifically made for the world of Guardians :]
Sounds fun! How do I get started?
Never participated in an ARPG before? Not to worry, we’ll lay out everything you need to know below! - Step One | Create your Archive Post: Please make a post on the Co-Op Archive thread to have a place to keep track of your cats, as well as anything you earn/gain in this ARPG! This APRG will have a regular, community accessible archive that stays up to date with each cat that’s created, but the rest is up to each user to keep track of.
- You may link to a toyhouse or other off site means of keeping track of your info, just make sure to link it on your post on the thread here on CS.
- Step Two | Creating your Founder: Each user has the ability to start with one free cat called a founder! You may either create your own under the founders thread, OR submit a custom form if you would prefer a staff member to create one for you (in that case of course, there will be a wait.)
- Step Three | Tribe Affiliation: Once your founder is created, you’re then able to choose one of the six tribes to affiliate your founder with.
- You can only switch your main cat/founder’s affiliation once (there will be a thread for switching affiliation - if you wish to change sides more than twice, you must have an appropriate ‘traitor token’ to do so)
- Other cats/adopts can belong to any tribe of the user’s choosing, but only the Founder or chosen main cat can reap daily/weekly/monthly benefits or collectables.
- All myo/adopted cats can be used for expeditions / hunts + battles / turf wars / etc based on their given role
- Step Four | Join the Discord!: This step is optional, but a large aspect of what makes an ARPG fun is becoming a part of the community! Share your lore, art, theories, ask questions, develop your cats, talk to others with similar interests, and more! The discord will also have exclusive events, giveaways, and other fun activities to participate in. PLUS lots of extra opportunities to earn exp for your cats. Feel free to join at any time!
- Step Five | Take a Look Around: This ARPG has lots of things to offer! Familiarize yourself with all the fun ARPG elements we have in store. There’s roles for your cats, battle/turf war elements, a leveling system, and more in the works.
Wow, that’s a lot right off the bat! Sounds too overwhelming? No worries, you can participate in as many or as little aspects of the arpg as you’d like, or jump into these elements at a later date.
Have any questions? Feel free to ask away in our discord server, or pm one of us (shadeyenova or snipsnops) right here on chicken smoothie.

✧ Rules
We do not own the concept of cats with wings.
You are more than welcome to design characters with the same traits, start your own ARPG's of the similar vein, and create your own NPC's for this community as you see fit; they just cannot be used or considered official characters within Guardians community without a proper transfer!
Three warnings equal a strike. Three strikes result in a ban.
Depending on severity of the case, rule-breaking might result in an instant strike or ban as voted by majority of the staff.
No minimodding.
Please don't take matters into your own hands! If you see something amiss, contact a staff member.
Designs may not be transferred into the ARPG without permission.
But you are more than welcome to do as you wish with the designs you get from this community outside of it.
Your guardians may be co-owned, but will not be earned with "co-ownership".
MYO tickets cannot be 'co-owned', but the design that results from them may be. This is for individual users to decide when archiving their characters. Users cannot decide to co-own a guardian without the original owner's permission.
You may not make your own Guardian without permission.
With the exception of creating ONE founder, you must purchase a MYO ticket from the shop to be able to make a guardian, or otherwise earn the ticket from events.
You may not put Artist Entries up for sale or trade.
The Artist Search is strictly used to test the provided lines or try out for an artist position. Putting pre-made designs up for sale clashes with the Staff privilege of putting out adopts in exchange for some form of payment. This action will result in an immediate strike. Commissioning entirely new designs to be used as MYOs, however, is permitted.
Harassment and rudeness will not be tolerated.
Begging, guilt-tripping and general toxic and rude behavior are all worthy of a strike. Such behavior may include, but is not limited to: complaining about competitions in the Discord server, messaging artists to "show" them what your entry would have been if you hadn't missed out on the competition, posting self-deprecating messages about missing a raffle or a flatsale, and so forth.
Guardians staff reserve the right to ban any member as they see fit.
Bans may be permanent or temporary, at the discretion of the species owner and a majority staff vote. Banned users may not interact with the ARPG. They may not post in Guardians' threads or participate in ARPG-related activities such as take part in events, purchase Guardians or Guardian MYO tickets, try out for free adopts or create MYO designs. They may be commissioned to draw art of other people's guardians. They are not allowed to own any more guardians that they may already have and are not allowed to gift, trade, or breed their cats for other designs/items from the ARPG. If banned members wish to readopt their guardians to the community, they must give it up to a staff member so it may be readopted.
Art theft or AI “art” usage of any kind in this community is strictly prohibited.
This includes writing lore, entries to prompts, etc. with chatgpt. If you cannot bring your own original ideas to an RPG, then you should not be playing.
✧ Customs/MYOs
There must be a valid MYO ticket in your archive to be able to make or claim an artist entry.
Please wait for your purchase to be processed and ensure the item is in your personal archive before seeking approval for an artist entry/MYO.
Fill out the appropriate form on the Customs/MYO thread to claim an artist entry.
You need permission from the artist of the entry to be able to claim it. Please make sure that you have a valid MYO ticket in your archive before doing this!
✧ QnA (common questions and their answers)
- Can I have cats in multiple clans and/or in multiple tribes?
- Yes! The clans you create to keep your cats in and their lore is completely up to you, and you can have as many as you’d like for your own lore. Same with having cats/clans within multiple tribes.
- Tribe affiliation events are solely based on which tribe your founder cat specifically belongs to.
- Are cat/bird genetics an aspect of this ARPG?
- This is a fantasy world! The cats here can have any amount of markings, fun colors, etc. There are absolutely no rarity limits to the colors or markings a cat can have. Your cat can resemble anything from a common house cat to having rainbow fur with sparkles and stars and shapes galore!
✧ Traits
Non-rarity: bird wings, bat wings, weight edits, missing a limb/scars, blindness, natural eye shape/ expression edits, accessories, whiskers
Common: fur edits (short/long/hairless), hair/mane edit, cat-like tail edits, cat-like ear edits, heterochromia, small # of feather growth (other than wings), claws, polydactyly, smaller/larger base wings

Rare: bird/bat wing combo (i.e. one bird wing, one bat wing / bat wings covered in feathers / etc), Insect wings, aquatic fin-like wings, 1-2 horns, 3-4 eyes, non-cat tail, lack of ears, antennae, tendrils/barbels/feelers, scales, body plates/spikes, elongated noodle-like body length, 1-2 extra limbs, hooves, vents/gills, multiple tails, paw pad shape, glow, wyvern-like (wings for arms)

Earnable traits: Multiple sets of wings! Check the leveling up section for more info
There are TWO ways of unlocking extra pairs of wings - you can earn them (for free!) by leveling up your cat, OR you can purchase them from the shop
*Note: color/design affecting traits such as albinism, chimerism, etc. are not limited to certain traits, and are simply up to the artist

✧ Experience Points and Levels
Leveling up Your Cat- There’s a lot of different ways to earn exp towards leveling up your cats, but one of the main ways is to send them out once a week on a hunt through this thread!
- With each level your cat gains, the ability to add a new set of wings is unlocked.
- Adding any of these traits is optional; you just unlock the ability to add them with each new level
- You can only add wings to the cat which has earned them, or otherwise purchase the ability to do so in the shop
Wing Level-Ups:- Page - Level 1 - basic single set of wings
- Squire - Level 2 - Small set of wings on legs or tail
- Knight - Level 3 - Small set of wings anywhere on the body that doesn’t cover the face
- Noble - Level 4 - Large set of wings anywhere on the body that doesn’t cover the face
- Saint - Level 5 - small wings that cover the face/eyes
Level Caps
- Level 1 ( 0 - 99 )
- Level 2 (100 - 299 )
- Level 3 ( 300 - 799 )
- Level 4 ( 800 - 1599 )
- Level 5 ( 1600+ )
Ways to earn exp: - Hunting
- Hunts/Forage: +15exp each week (lead cat only)
- Hunting Party: +10exp (following cats only)
- Speaker Gathering: +40exp each month (lead cat only)
- Gathering Party: +20exp (following cats only, must have medic or speaker role)
- Tribe Bonus: +10exp each time you hunt/forage (lead cat only)
- Battling
- Turf War: +20exp each cat (up to 2 per)
- Monster Battle: +20exp each cat (up to 2 per)
- Adopt Competition Prompts: UP TO +15 exp (if cat-participant necessary; ask)
- Events: amount varies (potential for daily exp rolls, event activity rewards, etc.)
- Discord exclusive bonuses
- Lore Channel: UP TO +50exp per cat written (discord exclusive monthly prompts)
- +15exp for collaborative writing/rp
- DCAY: +5exp potion each piece
- What are Roles?: Cats in the world of Guardians are usually assigned roles within the clans they reside in. Each role has a purpose, and can dictate what your cats can and can’t do within events and activities.
- Guardians; the default role for a cat, unless stated otherwise. Explore, protect, and hunt for their tribe (levels 1-5)
- Medics; Forage for items to help their clanmates, and make life within the tribes as comfortable as possible (levels 2-5)
- Cannot participate in hunts
- Speakers; cats at level 4-5 attend monthly gatherings with other tribes’ speakers to receive omens/gifts from the stars
- chance to roll... wip
- Cannot participate in hunts/battles/turf wars
- Monarchs; cat must be at the highest level (5) to receive nine lives from Highrealm and lead their clan
- can perform any of the above jobs at will
- Changing Roles: To change your cat's role once they’ve reached the required levels, you’ll be able to post a “role change” form on this thread here.
Rank Feathers:
- Tipped - level 1
- 1 stripe - level 2
- 2 stripes - level 3
- 3 stripes - level 4
- 4 stripes, glowing tip - level 5
Battles/Turf Wars- Users send up to 2 cats to a battle or war for randomized results/benefits
- The goal is to have a higher strength score than your enemy’s defense score. But if you don’t have enough medics, your guardians will go down very quickly
- Sending in Guardians increases overall strength score (determined by cat level)
- Guardians with certain types of armor can additionally increase defense score depending on material type
- Sending in Medics increases overall defense score (determined by cat level)
- Monarchs can choose to increase defense OR strength score
- Battles/Turf wars should be pretty 50/50, but that definitely won’t always be the case.
- If one tribe is revered as having stronger cats than another, staff can limit how many cats are entered into the fight (as a way of saying the leaders of the tribe got cocky or smth) to make turf battles more even
- Item Drops:
- Myos, edit items, currency, armor materials, exp points, etc
Amor - There’s 3 main types of armor, with different levels of defence
- Leather (+1 defense)
- Bone (+2 defense)
- Steel (+3 defense)
- A cat’s traits, no matter their rarity, do not affect strength/defense scores.
- Users do not have to draw a cat’s armor on to say it has armor - you need only the item proof attached to your cat’s archive.
- Cats who have armor drawn on but do not have the armor item are absolutely allowed, but still doesn’t actually affect the cat’s defense score.
Tribe Bonuses (+5%)
Every 2 months there are special bonuses given to each tribe, with the timetable listed below:- Sunrise Sea have exp bonuses in January/February
- Evening Valley have exp bonuses in March/April
- Fallen Star Forest have exp bonuses in May/June
- Dusk Desert have exp bonuses in July/August
- Moon Mountains have exp bonuses in September/October
- Twilight Tundra have exp bonuses in November/December
