fable name: phantom
song: oh klahoma - Jack Stauber
entry:
There once was a young girl who watched horse races with her beloved grandfather. She would bet on the same horse, who would win each time she watched. This intrigued her grandfather, so he bet on the horse and won. As her reward, he gifted her a porcelain replica with wings.
The porcelain horse became the girls object of affection and went with her everywhere. He watched her grow, and in turn grew lonelier himself. Some nights even wandering off the shelf to sleep beside her, even if it caused a crack in his porcelain chest.
It wasn’t long before the humans waged a war and the nuclear warfare had taken many lives. In her final moments she took him off the shelf to place him on the swing where they used to play and seated him down gently, expressing her love for him with her dying breath.
He watched her the seasons change, his porcelain body becoming apart of the soil. He longed to see her again.
It was his love and longing that turned into the magic needed to create this fable.
He wanders the forest, calling out for his girl, barely holding onto his memories of her.
