Tohru was a meager IT analyst by day, however he had a secret. He was the Pale Rose, a nano-bot wielding superhero who looked over the streets of the city against many foes, including a supervillain simply known as “Luvbunny” who was a mad scientist who had hordes of evil rabbit drones. Normally, he was the foe they’d have to fight against the most. Although the superhero life was rewarding, it did come with risks.
But that was not important tonight. The streets had been quiet for a while as they’d recently dealt with the villain for now, and they had nothing to worry about.
Well, except for one thing. Something that was on their mind recently.
Tohru had a crush on a fellow coworker, Quincy. They’d met a few weeks ago, when it happened that they shared lockers side by side and they struck up a good conversation. Although the pink Kalon seemed a bit familiar at the time, Tohru brushed it off as simply their mind playing tricks. After all, when you’re a superhero in disguise it’s always good to be vigilant. Plus, Quincy was quite nice and they’d shared a lot in common including a love for the sciences. He seemed to really like rabbits, something Tohru brought into consideration.
Tonight, this was their chance. As everyone else left for the night, Tohru made sure of his surroundings and went over to Quincy’s locker. Upon opening the locker up, they carefully examined the contents of the locker beforehand before placing a small radio inside. They had made careful consideration to not topple whatever boxes were in the locker (it seemed rather important, and they weren’t going to risk damaging anything inside). The radio was hand-made, courtesy of their own nanobots and in their signature colors too. Additionally, they’d decided to attach a handwritten note. While the other boxes wasn’t able to fit any further gifts, it just gave Tohru more time to make some more gifts.
Satisfied for now, Tohru opened their own locker and retreated inside. Unbeknownst to anyone, they had a secret hideout that was only accessible through their locker a secret entrance. Riding the narrow elevator down to their base of operations, they were certain that this would go perfectly, without a hitch. An invitation for Quincy to join them on a date for Kalontines day, Tohru couldn’t see anything going wrong. Or, any tracks they’d failed to cover like forgetting to close the decoy back of their locker that they remembered to do.
In the meantime, Tohru prepared flower arrangements as well as some other gifts he’d planned on giving that day. Perhaps a chocolate bunny would also be a good gift to give to Quincy.

At one in the morning, Quincy went to the lockers to retrieve a concoction they’d hidden in their locker to be used in his latest plans. There seemed to be nobody else there (aside from Tohru, who claimed to work overtime alone upstairs which wasn’t a big issue). Recently, after an encounter with the Pale Rose they’d taken to hiding their tools elsewhere and laying low for a while. Luckily, Quincy’s identity wasn’t blown and he could continue to claim that he worked as a laboratory scientist. Of course, he was hard at work. Perhaps this time, he’ll outdo the Pale Rose at the games they liked to play. It was always so exhilarating and fun, even if he didn’t know who was behind the mask.
Tonight, he’d work on an amazing plan with the materials he’d stealthily hid away in his locker. He was Luvbunny, fully ready to wreck havoc once again on the streets. He would be looking forward to their game, one that they’d play together so many times.
As he opened his own locker, he immediately noticed something was off. A radio, with some of Quincy’s favorite tunes as well as a note beside it.“To Quincy,
I have had a crush on you for a bit and I’ve been meaning to ask you this, but would you like to go out with me to the diner down the street? I’m free on Kalontine’s day, and I think you’re cute! If you feel up to it, feel free to stick a note in my locker.
Love, Tohru.”
Well, the letter definitely did sound like Tohru. He did think that it would be fun to go on a date, and decided to use the backside of the post-it note to respond and paste it back into Tohru’s locker nearby. They seemed pretty nice from their interactions, if not a bit mysterious and reserved.
However, as soon as he opened their locker to place the note in, Quincy immediately noticed the hidden passage.
Forget the plans he had for villainy, this was a far more interesting development. After all, what exactly did Tohru have to hide?

Tohru was far too entrenched in preparing the gifts for them to notice someone else was descending down in the elevator. They failed to notice that Luvbunny himself, was inside the base. Putting away the gifts for now as they were satisfied, Tohru went out to the main area to relax.
Only to be met with the pink supervillain lounging in the one of the couches outside.
“What are you doing here?!” Tohru nearly jumped back in shock. Quincy could only smirk to himself, the strange yet undearing IT Kalon that had a crush on him was the Pale Rose the entire time? Well, this was certainly an interesting development! One that Luvbunny was more than pleased to see.
“Ah, you should lock your secret entrances more carefully dear~” he replied. “To think that the Pale Rose was so cute out of disguise, it makes the game so much more fun don’t you think?”
“What exactly are you doing here, then? Looking into my base to find something for your next plan?”
“Oh no, I just wanted to drop by and drop something by a friend of ours. Well, you should know who it is Tohru, I paused my plans since this seemed a little more fun! After all, it would be best to deliver this directly, hm? You’re endearing in this state.”
Directly? Just what did the villain know about their life? There were so many questions in their mind. And endearing? That was an odd term Luvbunny used to describe them. It wasn’t his usual comebacks, was it because… It couldn’t be. Luvbunny and Quincy were two different people, of course despite their similarities! Even if they
“So. Are you going to do anything..?” Tohru asked.
“Not tonight but I’ll see you soon, Pale Rose! Don’t worry, I won’t spoil your date~! Until next time-!”
And like that, the supervillain promptly disappeared in a flash of smoke. Tohru could only stand there, bewildered. Judging from the message from Quincy left behind by Luvbunny, it seemed like he was down for it and the supervillain was… oddly thoughtful about it? On the other hand, they did forget to close the entrance behind them and accidentally revealed their identity. Tohru could only hope that their manager didn’t find out about this incident.
Oh well. Surely the coincidences were just red herrings. Tohru had more important things to attend to for now, and despite everything was satisfied for the night.
